When I go into the ezcad2 files I can find corfile2 executable but when I try and load it from lightburns Load COR file in device settings it is not in Ezcad2. Only the files show and nothing else. What am I missing?
You can't load the executable into Lightburn, you have to execute the program and generate your own Corfile, and that is what is imported into Lightburn.
Hey Alex, finally took the plunge and purchased Lightburn. I still have the original folder as well as the USB that came with my galvo. I dont see any files with the .cor extension? What should I do now? Thanks buddy.
If you're on Windows watch Episode 10 of this series, there's a link to the playlist in the description. If you're on MacOS or Linux you'll need temporary access to a Windows machine so you can run the Corfile.exe and generate the correction file. If neither of those are possible then you'll have to do lens corrections manually which we go over in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/FZT9zOp9Sl8/v-deo.html
Is it possible to either: fine tune the COR file scaling OR see what the actual COR file values are, for manual entry? My 175x lens is refusing to measure properly.
Unfortunately I haven't found a way to extract the correction data from a corfile as it saves encrypted. This would be super useful and hopefully it will be something LightBurn includes when they do release native lens corrections. For now though, we're kinda stuck with this unfortunately unless you make your lens corrections manually from the start (ew)
Hi guys...Im having a corefile issue...when opening it says "failed to open imc driver" if I open Ezcad it is missing DONGLE...however when updating drivers it says it has the best driver....i can not get it to run the corefile at all...please help!
I am assuming because |I don't have a .cor file in my folder, | need to run something to do something in order to save a cor file??? EDIT, update, went back, watched the Video for Corfile2 and I can't get past running the Calibration after the initial 1-9 measurements, corefile2 crashes 3 times in a row now...not sure what to do, ...
Have you tried one of the other versions of corfile? There are a few different types available with the Ezcad CE download from www.lasereverything.net/downloads one of which may work for you! Sounds like something is corrupted so just a fresh copy may fix your issue.
Running Lightburn for a couple years with my led & co2. Have a new fiber coming tomorrow... Any suggestion for these adjustments if all I have is Linux? Doesn't seem to be a version for Ubuntu. Kind of disrupts the 'flow' of your video if it requires a Windows machine. Things keep going back to EZcad2...
Hi, I have a Corefile Issue I am trying to solve. I managed to get all the settings pretty spot on using the bulge, skew & trap tools in Ezycad for my 300mm lens. All in scale out to about the 200 mm square where it starts to distort. I can live with that while I am still learning. When I try the corefile adjustments to take the settings to Lightburn all of the shapes and scales of the test squares distort badly. This happens in both lightburn and in Ezycad when using the saved Corefile result. I have run Corefile2 many, many times with maximum measurement detail and still can't get a workable result. Any ideas would be appreciated. As a side note, while I am new to fiber lasers, I have spent 25 + years applying detailed designs onto metal through photo-chemical etching, or acid etching as it is better known. This was long before fiber lasers came into their own and we were one of only a handful of businesses in Australia doing etching. We created some great works over the years, but the industry was messy, toxic and challenging from an environmental aspect, so we moved on to other things. Fiber lasers can do things we could only dream of back then so I just couldn't resist the temptation to try one. These videos have been priceless in my learning journey.
Make sure you're using the change image function so that the landmark shapes are in the same positions on the screen as they are on your test material. If they don't match it can absolutely cause the symptoms you're describing here. So glad the videos have helped you out, chemical etching certainly is a nasty business but as you said I've seen some absolutely beautiful work over the years. Messed around a bit with it in college but it's certainly icky. Hope we can get you where you're going and have you creating brilliant art with your fiber laser as well Anthony.
Ok, first thanks for all these videos! I’m ready to start marking on my fiber, but is there any way to import our settings for materials to create a materials library in Lightburn? Or do we have to enter it manually? Thanks!!
Check out our recent video on the Parameter Converter which will show you how to convert for LightBurn easily. In addition I'll be publishing an episode soon on lightburn library management which will be published tomorrow.
Well I’ve downloaded the latest LaserMaster parameter file and the File converter. The converter seems to run fine and converts and saves the file. But when I transfer the .clb file to my Mac LightBurn shows that it loaded it but nothing shows up. No errors and it shows the library file name as if. It’s loaded. Any help??
Glad to help, and not having a starter cor file isn’t a problem at all. Head back to the prior episode in this playlist series and we discuss and show the process of setting up and generating a cor file from scratch. Episode 10 :)
Thanks for your support! If you have it backed up on your computer, or on the original flash drive that came with your laser from the factory, you can copy it back to the computer and assign it back to the laser in the device settings in lightburn. Unfortunately, if you don't have a copy of it somewhere, it is likely not recoverable. It's possible the manufacturer kept a copy of it (some do this, especially if it was built to order or a boutique vendor that did the corrections for your lenses before shipping out). If not, then you can try out the new way of doing a correction directly in lightburn, we just did a video on it and came up this past week actually :) It's still early in its release and needs some fine tuning, but its way easier than swapping back and forth to ezcad. The scale is a bit off and needs adjusting right now after, but if you can tolerate that or hang tight till they update it again.
i did the focal dist setup ,I did the cor file many times but i still have error in the final dimensions. When i draw a square with 50x50 it actually mark a 49.5 . Is there a way to compensate it by scaling?
What if you are on a Mac and can't run EZCAD and generate a COR file?

Hi mate, thanks for these videos! Will there be a rotary setup video anytime soon?
Its on the list, probably about a week, few more basic things we have to do first but it's coming.

Verry nice Video, but i diddnt have a Core file…. What can i do…. My Laser isnt working correctly
You can download the EZcad CE from our community downloads page, which comes with a copy you can run.

IS the only way to do correction in lightburn, to import the ezcad COR?
Currently yes, rumor has it native lens corrections are coming but we'll have to wait and see how that materializes.
Hello
Where can you set the speed for the red dot in light beam as in ezcad Tanks
In device settings under Laser Configuration, it's labeled "Frame Speed"
what do you do when you can't find or dont have the corfile
Check the official playlist in the description and see episode 10 for how to generate your own :)

I have this exact problem. I’ve run corefile2 repeatedly. distortions are removed but scale is about a mm small in both directions.
