The Yoda of opal cutting has done it again. WOWSERS. I never doubt you, only wish I had money on you today Justin. Your a winner!. I just love it when the doubters are put back in there place. You rock (pardon the pun)!.Happy Birthday Justin, wishing you all you wish for yourself. Until next week, I dont know how you are going to top this video. WOW WOW WOW
Love all the videos Justin, you are The Master!! I'm an old Paific Northwest rockhound from Washington State (Tacoma). One of our best stones in this part of world is arguably, Ellensburg Blue Agate. Alot of nice rock in Oregon as well, Opal Butte is a fine example. Thanks again for everything you and the crew do. Don Wilson, Tacoma.
We love your opal videos here in Boston! I'm just getting into cutting gems, so far i have sapphires and amethysts I'm learning to facet, but opal has always been my favorite gem stone and I need to get some to cut!!
Happy belated birthday Justin, you cut some beautiful opals, but that last one was an awesome gem. Sounds like your new place is big enough to ride your bicycle lol I think it's a slice of petrified wood you have your hand on. Thank you
I'm turning 50 next year too Justin, it'll be a great year! :) That color on those 2 small stones is quite striking, it's easy to see why they're so highly valued.
Thanks Justin and happy birthday! Beautiful opals! I missed the hint about what the jar of sand is all about, darn it. I will be here for it, God willing. Night!
Happy Birthday from one scorp to another...i get to officially join the 65er's on wednesday...woo hoo! sassy & elderly in olympia washington...a video party is a great idea! Nice stones in this session...i learn so much watching you...lookimg forward to the new shop
What a great episode. You guys are always so upbeat. Even when you're be introspective Justin, you've always got something nice to say. I respect that a lot.
Hey Justin missed your live I was at work building all day. Good to get home and watch you discovering beauty. Love you channel and to think you are just down the road. Cheers from the sunny coast. Can’t wait to see the new digs.
WOW Justin!! These are so beautiful. That last little black one reminds me of slightly crinkled, colored tin foil through a window. I don't know how it could get any more beautiful (unless it was double or triple the size B-), wouldn't that have been tremendous!) Yes, Happy belated Birthday Justin! Love what you're doing and sharing with us, too. God Bless and can't wait to see you're new studio!
Well, well, well. That was one heck of session, there Justin. All beautiful gems and I'm betting that red black Opal turns into a little snorter. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful video as usual Justin and Tamika and I missed the live! My cat Trollet wake me up meowing a while ago when the clock was 2 AM and I couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to stay awake and watch the video from Black Opal Direct instead. It always so exciting to see what you Justin can do with the stones when you preform your magic on the cutting wheel! Big hugs to you all at Black Opal Direct! Susanne. 👋😊💎👍🥰❤🤗
Bummed I missed it live... But what a winner of a rub! That little red is stellar, and that last one was wicked surprising! Can't wait to see it cut! Aloha from Maui!
Good to see you pull another rabbit out of your hat Justin, love watching you work you magic here in Illinois! When is the new place going to be ready? Exciting!!
Tameka! Justin! Happy Birthday! I know, I know... just another orbit. Wonderful batch- and all hatched! Oh my! That broadflash chaff!!!✨🤩✨ (I think I just accidentally wrote a haiku) 🤷🏻♂️ REALLY looking forward to the specialty project!
Justin -- regarding the second stone -- the one you said could be brighter if you went down deeper. Not sure, but it looked like from the edge you could get even brighter if you went down further. Maybe even orange and yellow. It almost looked like there were two color bars there, one stacked on the other, with different color. Of course, it might be too thin if you took it down further.
micro bits made into a lovley butterfly.. Wings opal body Ruby's and sapphires. They sell well.. Beating by sand still is a jewel turned into a brotch...
Just watching at 11.30 pm missed the live while working. At 3 minutes now and by the first few comments its going to be a good one. Kevin from beaconsfield VIC 😊🌏. Sorry, hello everyone. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Hi Justin! Great vid and a really nice collection of beauties. How the hell do you sell this stuff at the prices they are worth. When I last cut great stones like yours, I could never get any where near what the stone was worth. I even had the stones independently valued but no matter I never got what they were worth. (not even half most of the time). I made me quit cutting but now the old opal fever bites again and I bought new gear.....
That piece, that. Very Edge tiny one with the amazing oranges and reds and blues, would make a very georgous spear like. Necklace. Drop , small. But. Dainty! Is it. Savagable?

a valuation will always be double its value because it will be retail replacement value
OK so the stone you just cut is worth say 10 grand. What will you actually get for it?
@@markleggett5913 I will get 10k
The small opal with red. Reminds me of a ammonite?!? If I’m spelling it correctly!
Greetings from nature's paradise… Dorrigo
