@@CollaborationCoach I have a question....In case of dealing with External Client and sharing only specific file with him/her over Teams...do we have any specific rights where Client can only see particular file and not every single doc cz of security concerns ?! Just the way we have diff. Rights for different members ...diff. folders on Share Point....!
Great videos. Thanks for posting. I have resisted Teams but I’m now taking another look. We are using a SP document Library like a traditional server. We have files stored like this in a SP site named “Projects” And under the documents folder, each project is structured like this: ClientName/ProjectName/ then a sub structure of folders relevant for each project. If I start using Teams, it will create it’s own document library (“Files”). I like the idea of a centralized sharing/collaboration (by project) in teams but I don’t want files saved in multiple locations. Is it possible to reassign the “Files” tab in Teams to be a folder in a SP document library? In other words, I would like collaboration and sharing especially for collaborators outside our organization but I don’t want them to see “how the sausage is made” and see all the other sub folders. Wondering what would be a good practice for this. Thanks.
In your "Add SharePoint Pages to Microsoft Teams" you seemed to say the quality of the document is better if you use SharePoint to create the page could you clarify maybe what quality areas you are talking about ? thank you
Hello Collaboration Coach, thank you for your helpful video. I got a question, what would happen if anyone (accidentily) deletes the entire team? Would the sharepoint data still be recoverable or accessible? Thank you!
@@CollaborationCoach Allright, thank you very much! I read somewhere that a sharepoint could also be created through an outlook group. Could that also be linked to teams, or the other way around? Or is there no difference between the two?
Thanks for this, great video! One comment, one question: Comment - I wondered whether you could restore a folder after Teams had created a new folder (accidentally deleted on Sharepoint) and you can; Sharepoint will restore the original, and rename the new, replacement folder "whatever(1)", after which you can move files, if necessary. Question - How long do deleted files sit in the Restore Bin? (I'm assuming that at some point, they're deleted automatically via some kind of garbage collection.)
Just ramping up and starting to use Teams. I want to move thousands of files from Box, but the problem am having is that there is no ability, either in SharePoint, or in channels to limited folder access. My files are many folders deep and I can currently provide access to a folder that is many levels deep, but not with Teams. The current recommended practice is to create a new Team and then create channels. Each channel has the same permission structure only limited by users at the Team level. Hopefully Microsoft will rethink that or come up with a different explanation. Then again, the model is based on SharePoint which I am not sure if you can limited access many levels down.
You can customise permissions in SharePoint at the site, library, folder and document level. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/understanding-permission-levels support.office.com/en-us/article/Customize-permissions-for-a-SharePoint-list-or-library-02d770f3-59eb-4910-a608-5f84cc297782
Hello, sorry for the late reply. What's CPD? I can do videos on OneNote and Teams for teachers and students. There are lots of cool new features for that.
@@CollaborationCoach - sorry to hijack the thread, Teacher and student use for teams and sharepoint, would be awesome. Personally, we are just dipping our toes into the water, and best practice would be really useful. I am also looking at automated work flows, not sure if this is your bag, and admittedly a bit me, me...:)
the post : Dear Educators, how do you user asynchronous learning. Using the 'files' option in the channels?? Any specific best practices that has worked for you for asynchronous learning?==> it does not have link sharing.. so u ll hv to find this one.

If the Team is deleted the SharePoint site goes too. But it can be restored by your administrator intact.
