The only people who don’t love Roy Orbison are those who never listened yet! His solo work and his collaboration with The Traveling Wilbury’s all magic. RIP and thanks for the music.❤️
My first radio love.. heavy sigh... Such a beautiful soul who lost his wife in an accident 1966 and shortly after 2 sons to a fire...it wasn't until the 80's he began to have a comeback..for only a short while before a heart attack... God rest and keep Roy Orbison 🙏... 🌿🌿🌿
Finally, probably the greatest male voice of all time, as confirmed by Elvis. Great reaction. React to my favorite Orbison (studio version, better than any live version) “ In Dreams “
I saw Roy twice in Seattle. He was before my time I wasn't that excited to go but hearing his voice live, so strong and full gave us goosebumps and chills the whole concert. Sweet man. ❤
I watch many music reaction channels and I like many of them a lot - but I must say that, in my opinion, you are the very best - always genuine and authentic and a joy to watch. It's so apparent you love each other and the music. The interaction between the two of you is lovely, as is the openness to your emotions - especially Andrei because men rarely find that easy to display in front of other people. And then there's Dominika's smile - beautiful.
Always liked Roy Orbison. Used to listen to him on a transistor radio when I was a kid. A truly kind man who suffered much tragedy in his life and died at age 52. Sad…
Mr. Orbison was one of a kind. I can definitely hear the Everly Brothers doing this song with their terrific harmonies. A big hug for the reaction! 🫂 ☮💛🎶
If your "ears & heart are open" Roy's voice touches your heart & soul no matter what he's singing about. Roy & Elvis were the first singers i was aware of. My mom kept the radio going all day on the local AM rock station when i was a little girl back in the mid 20th century haha. "In Dreams" is my favorite RO song.
Bruce Springsteen grew up listening to Roy Orbison music. Bruce gives a nod to Roy in his song Thunder Road: “Roy Orbison singing for the lonely Hey that’s me & I want you only”
You must be Psychic 🔮, Saturday on PBS I watched Roy Orbison and Friends at the The Coconut Grove, Ambassador Hotel, Hollywood California, September 30, 1987.🤣 It had Roy, Bruce Springsteen, K.D.Lang, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne and more. This was one of the songs 🎵 😭 one of my favorites they played all his songs🎵. ✌️Peace ☮️ and Love ❤your 70 year old forever hippie Gary 😊 great reaction 🤣
The Travelling Wilburys were truly a 'supergroup' & it says it all that Roy was an integral part of that collaboration. So many top groups & artists name him & his songs as an influence including Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin & Rush.
I know you guy's have done several song's from this great concert, have you noticed all the star musicians playing? You guy's just did Elvis Costello the other day, he's in this concert sitting down playing acoustic guitar behind and above Bruce Springsteen.
I am much older than the two of you and this song (as with many other old classics) brings with it both a melancholy sadness and a feeling of joy at the same time. Roy's voice is so iconic and unique, which only adds to the warming effect it has on the listener! Thank you for reacting to it, I always enjoy your reactions.
Enjoy your channel very much. If you look closely, one of the persons singing background vocals is Jackson Browne. Bruce Springsteen is also sitting down playing guitar.
VERY NICE!! Babaluuuu! Is that a Desi Arnez fan? So this song written by Roy in1960 is obviously the PERFECTION of the 1950's!! Great Reaction! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
All Star Band behind him,as that concert continued thru the night other musicians joined the band.. K.D.Lang, Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Emmy Lou Harris, and others. And the studio musicians all legends in their own right. One night only. Wow.❤
This was part a live concert - i believe it was called White Nights. If you look at the AAA listed musicians on stage it’s breathtaking. They all did it because they admired and loved Roy. Look up the cast list - you will be amazed !!!!
One of my favorite go-to songs for karaoke. I sing this and "Oh, Pretty Woman" a good number of times. Love listening to Roy's voice and also like watching your reactions. I'd like to recommend another artist to you folks: Hal Ketchum has a great voice. You would probably like his songs "Past the Point of Rescue" (the official video) and "Small Town Saturday Night". They were both hits in the 1990s. He also has a number of other wonderful songs.
Roy kept his tone as he grew older, but his voice grew softer. His early recordings are so much more powerful and heartbreaking. If you are going to do another song of Roy's I would recommend 'Running Scared' or 'In Dreams' but please listen to an original early version. The pain in his voice will bring you to tears of sadness as well as beauty. 😭
I'm happy you're using the BLACK & WHITE NIGHT concert for these. The concert was from 1987 - two decades after these songs were 'hits' - and the DVD was released in 1988. I love the comparison to Roy being a favorite hug. Yes, that's exactly it. I don't know if you go out to see live-music... if you do, do bands ever 'cover' Orbison songs and, if so, what is the immediate reaction? PRETTY WOMAN always gets everyone up and dancing. His slow heart-break ballads has everyone slow-dancing so blissfully. And most everyone sings along at some point.
His singles career started in 1956, and OOBY DOOBY was his biggest First Hit in 1957. It took another 3 years before his songs began to consistently charge - and he would rightfully be considered a singer-songwriter by that time. His songwriting partner was Joe Melson and then Billy Dees. Roy recorded other folks' songs', too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Orbison_discography
In the 90's, if you contributed a set amount of money to PBS(public broadcasting system)(they relied on public support to exist) they would send a CD of this concert......it was well worth the money!
Do you see who is in the background? Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen (Orbison was his idol), Bonnie Raitt and many others. This is the famous Concert in Black and White, shortly before Roy died.
Love Roy ❤ listening to him takes me back to growing up in the sixties ❤ I know that you have reacted to Roy with k.d.lang singing Crying (she is one of the backing singers here with Bonnie Raitt & Jennifer Warnes) would love you react to k.d singing Crying from Roy’s tribute concert she is AMAZING ❤ x
This concert, The Black and White Concert, was a tribute to him and he passed shortly after. That band, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty etc., the women backup singing K.D. Lang, Jennifer Warnes, Bonnie Raitt; all there to honor and witness that unmatched voice. If you get to watch that whole concert(please do, as it's a rare treat), you'll see Springsteen and Tom Petty just gazing in amazement at his voice. It's said(?+/-)that Roy loved Elvis' stuff and wrote songs for him, but that Elvis, or his handlers, knew Roy the better singer and didn't want him opening for Elvis or for them to be on the same show lineup. Regarding popularity, sadly, profession and fan wise, Elvis looked like Elvis and Roy looked like Roy. As you likely read, he had more than his share of personal sadness and tragedy, and so some of his songs hit very hard. I worked at a music venue in Times Square, in NYC, for 11 years and got to see around 600 good acts; this Black and White concert tribute for Orbison is the one concert I'd have chosen over any other, with it's talent there to watch Roy still make the magic. His octave range is very rare for female singers and almost never for men. What a gem we all get have; to get to witness that rare talent.
2 MOVIES with the main character wearing dark glasses for the traditional reason of blindness (Roy Orbison took up wearing sunglasses when performing due to a fortuitous circumstance) would be, for your Saturday night viewing: "Blind Man's Bluff" (1992) with tv star Robert Urich in a watchable murder mystery, and then, elevating up, Al Pacino in his Oscar winning performance for the movie "Scent of a Woman" (1992) .
Roy and Elvis were great friends. Elvis turned it down because he already had a song at #1 at the time. Plus, Elvis thought Roy would do a better job with it.
If you haven't listened to the Everly Brothers sing you have really missed out, it is no surprise Roy Orbison offered them this song as well as Elvis Presley , he would have likely not offered this song to any other artists. The Everly Brothers inspired the Beatles.
Did you know Roy was a bit bashful? Sometimes it was difficult to go on stage. He actually did not think he was a very good singer. He was also so very kind. Just humble soft spoken and what he loved ? His wife.
OH - you should enjoy RUNNING SCARED... wow... ua-cam.com/video/DAYyMIZNxfM/v-deo.html by the way, do you know who the backing musicians are? This was a collection of some of the eras biggest celebrities. Few of them were know as master musicians - but NO ONE CARED. These are SIMPLE compositions - it doesn't take decades of rehearsal. It simply takes the inner burnings of these musicians' hearts.
Roy had a 4 octave range with complete control. He was on another level.
The only people who don’t love Roy Orbison are those who never listened yet! His solo work and his collaboration with The Traveling Wilbury’s all magic. RIP and thanks for the music.❤️
That is so true 💚
To lose Roy and his golden voice at only 52 years old was a real tragedy
Agreed. But don't be sad that he's gone. Be happy that he was here :-)
My first radio love.. heavy sigh...
Such a beautiful soul who lost his wife in an accident 1966 and shortly after 2 sons to a fire...it wasn't until the 80's he began to have a comeback..for only a short while before a heart attack...
God rest and keep Roy Orbison 🙏...
🌿🌿🌿
I adore this man
N.
In the band: Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, KD Laing, Bonnie Raitt, T Bone Burnett & J.D. Souther
Only ROY could command such a back-up group ........LOL :)
Love ROY, 🙏 RIP
I know God is Great because He gave us Roy Orbison. Rest in peace Sir
He had the purest voice, especially in his upper register and falsetto. Clear as crystal.
You two are such a lovely couple , Your husband is a gem and you are soin tuned with him. God Bless You. You two make me smile ... thank you.
❤ Love you two. Thank you
That whole concert is one of the best ever shown on TV. I watch it every time it is on.
Finally, probably the greatest male voice of all time, as confirmed by Elvis. Great reaction. React to my favorite Orbison (studio version, better than any live version) “ In Dreams “
My favorite Roy's song. Thanks for playing.
Roy has many beautiful songs. He is so handsome also. Thanks guys 🎶🎶🎶🎶😘
You're happy because IT'S ROY ORBISON!! I saw him in concert twice and it was wonderful. Loved your reaction to one of the greats.
Roy's voice just makes me melt.
Incredible all Star band all legends in there own right.
He brings peace to the heart
Tears of happiness are sublime 😊
Crying, if you want to cry. Roy has a very special voice.
Great song and great assessment by you two.
"Pretty woman" is also a great song by Roy Orbison.
I adore this man. So humble, & he's missed. 😢❤🎼
"Running Scared" by Roy is beautiful.
I saw Roy twice in Seattle. He was before my time I wasn't that excited to go but hearing his voice live, so strong and full gave us goosebumps and chills the whole concert. Sweet man. ❤

Can't be lonely watching you guys reaction to a great song! 💯👍👏👏👏❤❤✌️
Lovely 😍 Thanks a lot ☺️
Love your reaction to a great singer and a great song.
Andrei...... Your the best. ❤
It's a joy to hear Roy. ; )
Always liked Roy Orbison. Used to listen to him on a transistor radio when I was a kid. A truly kind man who suffered much tragedy in his life and died at age 52. Sad…
You two make me feel good every time l watch!
A sad song can be a soulful release of emotions that let you move on.....
Mr. Orbison was one of a kind. I can definitely hear the Everly Brothers doing this song with their terrific harmonies. A big hug for the reaction! 🫂 ☮💛🎶

i so appreciate that you can love some of these old songs and iconic singers
My father, who passed in May, loved this man's music! 😭
Ladies and Gentleman . . . . . i give you the incomparable Roy Orbison !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . Danny in Mississippi
I saw Roy in Liverpool, UK, 1963. The Beatles were also on the bill.
Roy has influenced so many others and has such a pure voice. I'm glad you are covering some of the greats.
Bruce Springsteen grew up listening to Roy Orbison music. Bruce gives a nod to Roy in his song Thunder Road:
“Roy Orbison singing for the lonely

The backup musicians were literally a who's who of then-popular musicians.
MerchantOfAlba is my favorite music reaction channel. Love you two!
We are so happy 😀 Thank you 💚
I understand the tears of joy.
The Travelling Wilburys were truly a 'supergroup' & it says it all that Roy was an integral part of that collaboration. So many top groups & artists name him & his songs as an influence including Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin & Rush.
Roy could sing the Chicago phone book and it would be awesome...his voice and delivery...WHEW!
I know you guy's have done several song's from this great concert, have you noticed all the star musicians playing? You guy's just did Elvis Costello the other day, he's in this concert sitting down playing acoustic guitar behind and above Bruce Springsteen.
Of, did not know Elvis Costello was there. Knew of few others.b💚
Thank you. I'm a big Roy Orbison fan ... and this might be my favorite of them all. Such a sweet voice and delivery.
There are so many stars with him here. Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waite, KD Lang, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raite and others!
His voice is like butter.
Roy was totally unique, with an unearthly voice. Never a fan, but his place in R & R is secure
This was from a great show Roy Orbison Black and White. You must watch it. All the back up band are famous musicians and singers.
Enjoy your channel very much. If you look closely, one of the persons singing background vocals is Jackson Browne. Bruce Springsteen is also sitting down playing guitar.
And so many more too!
And weren't the female backing singers KD Lang (sp), Bonnie Raitt and Jennifer Warren (sp)?
Awesome stuff 💚🎶🎵
@@deegomez2089 yep!
@@deegomez2089 Yes they were. Also Lyle Lovett and Elvis Costello singing background vocals.
Yes, yes, we did see all of those awesome musicians 🎶💚
Love Roy ,His voice was a bit more powerful when he was younger. Saw him in 82 he was astonishing on stage

From the Black on White night (you should look at who the backup singer and band members are...)
Tears of happiness are a good thing 💯
I see you guys subscribers keep going up, Yaaay you deserve it ! Have a good one !
Rip Roy 🙏
In the 90's, if you contributed a set amount of money to PBS(public broadcasting system)(they relied on public support to exist) they would send a CD of this concert......it was well worth the money!

My Father actually started listening to Roy later in life which kind of surprised me considering the music he usually listened to.
Big hit for Roy. Reached #2. ❤
Roy’s voice is like ‘buttah’!
❤❤❤❤
👍
You have reacted to the great Roy Orbison (best singer ever)and done a terrific job.
I think ABBA is the best group of the 70s. Think about it.
Oh, this voice
Roy Orbison, “The Big O”, “The Caruso Of Rock.”
Legend is a word used too often these days. But in Roy's case! LEGEND!
Elvis was once asked who is the best singer. His answer….Roy Orbison.
This concert, The Black and White Concert, was a tribute to him and he passed shortly after. When you hear the crowd reaction you know that plenty of people feel the sam3 listening to the Big O.
Jackson Browne is one of the background singers.

Tbh, I prefer the studio version.

Please please please listen to IN DREAMS. Roy can really do a wide range in this one.
Warm Familarity
You'll see Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello backing up Roy in this video. Plus, other big names there.
Please consider Red Clay Strays' "Wonder Why"
Why wouldn't they pick Crying, that's the one to watch from this concert
React to Roy's "Pretty Woman" from the Black and White video. The same show as this one.
Did you know Roy was a bit bashful? Sometimes it was difficult to go on stage. He actually did not think he was a very good singer. He was also so very kind. Just humble soft spoken and what he loved ? His wife.
If that doesn't give you chills, I'm sorry, you're already dead!
(YOU MUST LISTEN TO RICKY NELSON)
OH - you should enjoy RUNNING SCARED... wow... ua-cam.com/video/DAYyMIZNxfM/v-deo.html

Boo Hoo!!! He cries again!!!
