In the lyrics, he mentions more than once how it was "Summertime" and this is sort of symbolic of youth. Later, when the song slows down, he mentions "with Autumn closing in" this hints at middle age being not too far away. Brilliant songwriting. Great singing.
Time sure seems to pass quickly the older you get. The 70’s don’t seem that long ago but then I pass a mirror and think who is that old guy looking back at me.
"I woke last night to the sound of thunder How far off I sat and wondered Started humming a song from 1962 Ain't it funny how the night moves? When you just don't seem to have as much to lose Strange how the night moves ...with autumn closing in." Great lyrics about how young innocence gives way to adulthood and the worries and anxiety that comes with it.
It's the groove of the song that just hits you ...the drums and the bass in unison at the onset just makes this superb tune so outstanding ...fantastic musicianship ... I believe it's the Waters sisters on background vocals ? Nice to see you guys again ...
Too young to be out with friends cruising in a 1967 Camaro. Oh, the warm night, windows down and that song playing. So happy I have those sweet memories.
From the first time I heard him sing, Bob Seger has been in every season of my life and though I am in the winter of my years, he still takes me back to my teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s...Love this reaction and the joy you both emit!
Excellent job going with the studio version, most reactors go with the “ official “ video that’s all cut up with the beautiful ending completely omitted 👍
Thank you both so very much for that trip down memory lane! Growing up here in the US, as teenagers, many didn't have our own cars until we were in our late teens/early 20's and had jobs. I remember my dad drove a 1972 Plymouth Fury III...think of it as your living room sofa with 4 wheels!! Gasoline was 25 cents a gallon. A great time to be 18 years old!
ABSOLUTELY LIVED THIS SONG… ALL THOSE MUSCLE CARS, DRIVE-IN THEATRES, BACKCOUNTRY ROADS, BEACHES N FOR A BIG TIME FUN, A SHORT TWO HOUR DRIVE TO MONTREAL. N LETS NOT FORGET THE BEST MUSIC OF THE SIXTIES N SEVENTIES. N ALONG COMES BOB TO TOP IT ALL OFF. I CAN DEFINITELY SEE YOU TWO IN A FIFTY SIX CHEVY. 👏😃 KEEP ON ROCKIN 👊🖖
Saw it was posted, looked at my son and said, They are going to love this one. Yes, it's the life we were living. What we were talking about is how great the production is on the female backing vocals. Perfection.
I have heard this song so many hundreds of times since it was released. I wasn’t too excited and then it started. Every time, I’m feeling like I’m watching a movie. I love seeing your reaction.
Fast cars, drive-in movies, bush parties, pretty girls everywhere, and all this amazing music! I was so lucky to be a teenager in the 80's! The best time of my life! You guys ROCK! Hugs, from Canada! ✌
Absolutely Love Bob Seger !!❤ Such GREAT Memories ! The front seat is where the (good) girls stayed 😀but the back seat is where us ( fast) girls ,went, and man the memories STILL linger.😂lol Thank you for this song & great memories.Love your reactions.❤
Bob is certainly one of a kind. I’m so appreciative for his music. This is great Rock, and would find it hard to believe that anyone would not like this.
Love this! My wife and I met our first year of college in 1976. We started dating in early 1977. Every time I would be driving back home after one of our dates, This song or Dancing Queen by Abba would be on my car radio on my drive back home. Reminds me of a very special time in my life! 47 years later it is still my favorite song of all time! ( yes we are still married! 45 years now 😉)
I learned to play this song and sang it to the girls. I was working on my day moves too. This song was a huge hit. Made Bob a star. Thanks for the reaction. ☮💜🎶
Nostalgia In Greek, nostalgia means literally, the pain from an old wound. It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone. And it takes us to a place where we ache to go again. What a song.
Yes Bob, I remember….lol Growing up as a teenager in America was a lot of fun. This is my favorite Bob Seger song. The older you get, the more you can relate to the great story telling of Bob Seger. He’s amazing. Hey and if I may be so bold, you two should definitely check out that back seat…..:)
One of my favorite reaction channels. You both appreciate the finer music. The video from this tune, shows exactly how it was with the Drive-In movies and stuff. Climbed many fences and hid in the trunk often lol...Give it a like if you remember when :)Greetings from Arizona ;)
So many memories with this song growing up in manly Hot Springs Alaska we had sled dogs I could remember as a teenager it was my job to cook the dog food I would be dancing around the cook pot listening to this song on a tape We thought we were all innocent thanks for the memories
I enjoy watching reaction videos because it makes me appreciate how good the music of my era is, and it is like hearing it for the first time through people like you. I'm in Northern California, actually Silicon Valley, I graduated high school in 1977 - and the music released that school year - this one from Bob, Hotel California (Eagles), Rumors (Fleetwood Mac), Jimmy Buffett's Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes "Margaritaville", Stevie Wonder Songs in the Key of Life others too. My first concert was July 1977 Outlaws, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Peter Frampton, my second concert was the day after I went home for Christmas Break - it was Queen on their News of the World Tour, and my third was Journey's Infinity Tour - first album/tour with Steve Perry. Yes it was it was great being a teenager in the 1970s, even more so being in the SF Bay Area
Bob Seger is a master storyteller, musician and song writer. And such an iconic voice! Charisma personified. This is considered by many to be his best. Also check out Main Street. I heard this was about his affair with the Italian girlfriend of a friend while he was away in the military.
That breakdown where he flips it from young and crazy to lying in bed, much older, listening to thunder and thinking how funny the night moves now that the autumn of your life is closing in.
I think this is the most iconic of his songs 🎵 You need to try some of his pre silver bullet it's just as good! ✌️Peace ☮️ ❤Gary your 70 year old forever Young Hippie Gary💃🕺 Great Reaction👍 when I first saw him perform in our High school gymnasium didn't know how famous he would become.
I'm 64 myself and I feel blessed to have been a teenager in the 70s and a lot of people my age can relate to this song, I know I'm not the only one who lost their virginity in the backseat of a a car or bed of a pickup
He was great live (in concert) His voice is so pure and the lyrics are outstanding! Thanks for reminding me😎 Great reaction! (I would "Explore" wherever I could) !!🤫
A '60 Chevy has an ample back seat. Bob really took us back to a magical time in our lives with this one. Also, when you make a list of who you would like to sound like singing, Bob is at the top of the list. When I hear this one, or "Like A Rock", or even "Main Street", I'm moved by memories and the knowledge they are shared and the quality of the sound and arrangement. Thanks Bob. Thanks Andrei and Dominika. It's fun to experience this music anew through you.
My teen years were from the late 70’s to the early 80’s and Definitely Lord I Remember is exactly what this song brings back to you. Always out in the summer living this song’s memories. You guys do an amazing channel! Thank you and much love😁❤️
I know how you feel. Growing up in Bulgaria we had to make do with the back of our horse and cart,. often we'd get carried away and the horse would mistake the rhythm for a signal to giddyup and by the time we were finished we could be miles away. Not true just my imagination. Love your reactions.
I have a little different perspective than you folks. I'm a retired Army Veteran who has been stationed in Germany and Greece, with a brief stop in Italy. One weekend we were trying to visit Bulgaria but they stopped us at the border. They did let us get something to eat and buy some small souvenirs. Most weekends we would all head down to Thessaloniki for the 5 kilometers long farmers market
The way he speaks of growing up is just amazing. Most people think this song is just about sex. But it is much much more. He talks about being carefree and easy in the “summertime” (early in life) then the song breaks to him remembering his youth and how quickly it passed by into adulthood “ autumn rolling in” just a masterpiece of story telling
"Workin' on our night moves, trying to make some front page drive-in news." For what it's worth, I'm one of the very few people who knows what that line in the song meant. I believe that the drive-in theater is virtually an American invention. In the 1950's and early 60's every drive-in had high school aged kids act as journalists, and before the movie began they would go from car to car asking the people if they had any news or gossip. They would then report the stories worthy of printing to the Drive-in News of that particular theater. The best story would be the front page drive-in news. "Chuck Smith and Doris Jones announce engagement!" Every week when one would return to the Drive-in and paid to get in you would receive a pamphlet sized news letter of 2 or 3 pages. A little Americana for you guys. Enjoyed your reaction to this masterpiece of a song.
In the lyrics, he mentions more than once how it was "Summertime" and this is sort of symbolic of youth. Later, when the song slows down, he mentions "with Autumn closing in" this hints at middle age being not too far away. Brilliant songwriting. Great singing.
The older you get the harder this song hits you
Absolutely
Time sure seems to pass quickly the older you get. The 70’s don’t seem that long ago but then I pass a mirror and think who is that old guy looking back at me.
Smen
16 yrs old 1975, 65 mustang, drive in theaters, dirt roads , pretty girlfriend, good times , great memories 😎BOB brings it all back!!!
"workin' on mysteries without any clues" love that lyric. We've all been there.
"I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves?
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
...with autumn closing in."
Great lyrics about how young innocence gives way to adulthood and the worries and anxiety that comes with it.
So profound.
Bob Seger is an exceptional storyteller through his amazing music.
Both of you never seem to disappoint with your reactions. A treasure to the internet.
I'll second that! 😊✌️ Gary
definitely the best out there i have found
An absolute treasure
Thank you kindly 💚
If you don't want to listen to Bob's songs, you can close your eyes and watch them.
It's the groove of the song that just hits you ...the drums and the bass in unison at the onset just makes this superb tune so outstanding ...fantastic musicianship ... I believe it's the Waters sisters on background vocals ? Nice to see you guys again ...
You two are such a pleasure to watch, so much in love.
great song from a most amazing talent. love your reaction. You guys are so freaking cute :)
Bob is absolutely the best. He’s an American treasure
Like Bob says,Those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul🤘
So true 💚
Love watching and listening to you both. Keep up the great program.
One of the small handful of The Greatest singer / songwriter's Ever. Such power.
Too young to be out with friends cruising in a 1967 Camaro. Oh, the warm night, windows down and that song playing. So happy I have those sweet memories.

Beautifully said ❤️
It was the backseat of a '61 Pontiac for me. Memories!! I'm over 70 now, I'm past autumn, my winter is closing in.
Bob=magic. I've said it before and I'll say a million more times. ❤you guys.
Thank you 💚
Excellent job going with the studio version, most reactors go with the “ official “ video that’s all cut up with the beautiful ending completely omitted 👍
Seger always wrote those "he's one of us" type of songs.
This song gives me a terminal case of nostalgia.
Bob is always fire !!!!
You two are so special
Bob is the king……of classic rock. Smooth, enjoyable, meaningful and pure

Bob is certainly one of a kind. I’m so appreciative for his music. This is great Rock, and would find it hard to believe that anyone would not like this.

What a great song!

Nostalgia

One of Bob’s biggest hits, a great true story that even though they were not in love they had fun while her boyfriend was away in the military!
His voice makes me choke up every time I hear this song - it's in my top 3 all-time favourites. Thank you SOOO much for this.

One of my favorite reaction channels. You both appreciate the finer music. The video from this tune, shows exactly how it was with the Drive-In movies and stuff. Climbed many fences and hid in the trunk often lol...Give it a like if you remember when :)Greetings from Arizona ;)
Yes, i was in junior- high and high-school in the 70s. Definitely brought back memories ❤️
Love you two!
Love Bob Seger!!❤❤❤
I was fortunate to iive nearly every lyric in this song.
Saw the lightning but waited on the thunder and then the thunder finally came as autumn closes in. Simply beautiful lyrics.
So many memories with this song growing up in manly Hot Springs Alaska we had sled dogs I could remember as a teenager it was my job to cook the dog food I would be dancing around the cook pot listening to this song on a tape We thought we were all innocent thanks for the memories
Oh how wonderful 😊💚

Bob seager.... He tells my life's story

My friends parents would see him play at Wamplers lake, Hayes State park before he hit it big.

There's no denying that Uncle Bob is just so relatable ✌️&❤️
One of my favorite songs ever! Thanks for reacting to it. You might want to check out "Mainstreet", "Shame on the Moon" among others.
It was an awesome time, it’s why we are so nostalgic about it❤️
My favorite of his, I think 👍
Dozens more❤
The answer to your question about car seat is hell yes❤
Great reaction to such a good song. Thanks for the experience ❤
There is no song that gets me feeling nostalgic like this one does.
Great story teller.
I can confirm that most of us Americans definitely tangled in the back seat of our old beat up cars!❤
He was great live (in concert) His voice is so pure and the lyrics are outstanding!
Thanks for reminding me😎
Great reaction!
(I would "Explore" wherever I could) !!🤫
I had a 60 Chevy, back then! I lived in a small town in the country and went down the back roads by the corn fields! Had some great times in the 60's!
A '60 Chevy has an ample back seat. Bob really took us back to a magical time in our lives with this one. Back in the day I was rocking it out in the back seat of a sky blue 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit! Try that on for size. Ha!
Lol😆
Mine was a 55 Cadilac Coupe de Ville in 1969. I've never heard a Bob Seger tune that I didn't like. You two are such real people.
Plenty of room, really a condo.
My fave song of his: all these years later, it still sounds as fresh as ever!
love his music and voice
I know how you feel. Growing up in Bulgaria we had to make do with the back of our horse and cart,. often we'd get carried away and the horse would mistake the rhythm for a signal to giddyup and by the time we were finished we could be miles away. Not true just my imagination. Love your reactions.
🤣😂😅
That sounds nice, actually.
I like how your imagination works 😉
Haha, similar in Poland and Romania. Much love from the both of us 💚
I have a little different perspective than you folks. I'm a retired Army Veteran who has been stationed in Germany and Greece, with a brief stop in Italy. You guys are just the cutest

Thank you! 😃
I sure remember the night moves!

That is so cool, we had our drive ins but that part must have been before my time!
I thought that line was figurative--interesting to know that it was a literal, actual thing! Thank you.
Oh wow, thank you for explaining 😁
