I had to smile when you said you bought a new glass cabinet to accommodate all the lovely things - I thought as the children grew up we're supposed to downsize rather than move to a larger property?! Having said that, I can hardly talk there's only 3 of us living here, but we probably have more bits and pieces than ever before! You must keep your Dad's paintings! My Dad loved painting too and we've kept his artwork, as they can't be replaced! Those scrapbooks remind me of my parents, as they liked to cut things they found interesting out of the newspaper and keep them to read in the future - trouble is you can't keep everything! I'm a bit behind with your vlogs, so will see if you've updated all this soon! Looking forward to seeing your haircut too! ^_^ x
Take everything you want from your parents house otherwise you may regret not holding on to it. When my parents died my brother sorted there house out and within 6 months of them dying it was empty and on the market. I didnt feel I could deal with it all at the time and left it to him to sort ive kept some things but a lot has gone that I now wish I had had to time to go though properly instead of letting him rush me through it all. So keep it even if you end up throwing it as you may in a few years time wish you had kept things that have gone forever xx
Aw thanks! I am glad I managed to go through everything. I did have to make decisions to let some stuff go because of space and now have a panic every now and then about having let it go eg books and I did let my Dads university not and work projects go...I still wonder if I should have kept them ... so still having to process that! It’s hard!
Such fascinating and wonderful memorabilia, like an Aladdin’s cave full of treasures
