So you don’t break the 1st section yarns? You just carried them?
@@sagasandstars yes you carry yarn up the side.it depends on your choice you can break the yarn but it knot.
When trying to figure out what yarns I can get, sometimes it’s hard to find what I want at a price I can afford, and I have to substitute. Then I want to know how the colors I want will look. So, I take a screenshot that captures a good view of the pattern rather close up, like at 0:12 above. Then I import that image into sketchbook app and draw squiggles over the image in my colors at about 50% opacity (Just enough to cover the image’s colors over). This gives me a good idea if my choices will work , and gives me a color plan for the knitting. I am still open to shifting colors, and this is especially helpful when choosing a vastly different pallet.

Am confused. Thought today was pattern/kit release day?? I cant find it yet, but this video looks like part way through a tutorial midway through the shawl? and I thought the make along started 26 December. HELP!!!! am very confused. Did I get this wrong
If you go on the website you can get the kit. Some are already sold out 😔. The make along is on December 26. I think this video it is a little preview. 😉

having trouble with Row 15--the cables...do they turn over the 3 slipped sts from the previous row or on the 5 P sts from row 14
got it.....I had 1 to many sts at beginning of my row
Are the kits already sold out 😢?
My advice is to put the yarn you don’t use on a long straight knitting needle. That way the stay don’t get strangled.
I wish this had been your MKAL. I wasn’t crazy about this years design
I love the idea of a MKAL but it seems painfully risky to pay so much for yarn to knit a West Knit without knowing what it looks like.
Some of this years’ shawls were pretty (ish) but it was strictly due to their color choices IMO.
Lastly…if he has a MKAL that is either one or two colors…perhaps I’ll join.
I am looking forward to knitting this one though. ☺️♥️
Wow Mary B... sometimes you should keep comments to yourself. Stephen has a menu of different designs. He works hard each year to provide new and exciting patterns. Think about his feelings. He puts his heart in each design...

She wasn’t fond of this year’s MKAL.
Nor was I.
She wasn’t rude. She was actually complementary of his current design. He is a big boy and can handle a tiny bit of constructive criticism.

@@miasaxour9100 with all of the selection of yarn colors couldn't you just choose colors you enjoy looking at and buy those?
Regardsless of the finished design wouldn't enjoy the colors because you chose them?
