Wow, your video made me realize that I joined the project from the beginning. I "reset" sewing in November 2020 with @sirenapatterns @academiademodastommiehernandez. By September 2021, Tommie asked her students if we could donate a dress for a girl and talked about the project. I said I could donate two... I finished four 😊. Now I look at the photos in my gallery and count 10 small dresses donated to the project. This year I finished 11 🤗 dresses. One of my 2024 New Year's resolutions was to sew a dress monthly. Well, today I'm going to finish my #12 🎉 dress. Thank you for starting the project. Thank you for the great sewing community and their inspiration.
My heart goes out to the little girls who either live in impoverished situations, or who suffer a catastrophic event, such as a hurricane. Making dresses represents my small, tangible contribution toward a brighter future for the girls and their families. (Daphne Clarke, participating since 2023)

I grew up poor, but I always had clothes because I was the daughter of a father who sewed for a living. I didn't appreciate having homemade clothes or hand me downs at the time, but looking back, I was truly blesses
Ha! This brings back memories of when my grandma had a dress made for me and I wanted nothing to do with it. I was so ungrateful and that was probably the best dress I owned. 😅 now, I see it the same way you do. A blessing

This is a wonderful charity to be a part of. When I was little my parents could not afford to purchase more than what was necessary. My grandmother always made me fill special when she would surprise me with a pretty new dress for no special reason. I was the only granddaughter in the family, and we had a special bond. One little dress can change the way you see and feel about yourself. This is a charity I can contribute to without leaving home and I can work on when health issues allow me to. Thank you.

Then I started making my own at 14 and loved those too. I also have a good sized stash of dress fabrics. I am so happy to spread this joy.❤
Thank you, Mari. I LOVE participating. It gives me the opportunity to sew a lot without my closet overflowing. My mom sewed for me when I was young and I still remember (many years later) some of those wonderful dresses and how much I loved wearing them. Everyone I know who participates is full of enthusiasm for doing so... so thank you - over and over... for providing this wonderful, worthwhile outlet for those of us who love to sew.
It truly is amazing how we are able to both feed our love of sewing and do something really good for others with love. Thank you for being a part of this.

The old saying is “it only takes one to change the world…” and you did that! Hi Mari. I sew because I was so moved by your drive. I have two daughters and now that they are grown I wanted to do something for other little girls who are in need. This is the third year for me and I hope to do this each year as long as I can. This year I began in January and I have a pretty nice sum of dresses to send you, happily and with much love. So happy I found your channel and this wonderful cause to give to. I picture the girls wearing all of our dresses with happiness and smiling faces.
