Dearly Bethany The main reason I watch you is not only because I like your style, but also because we’re the same height. It helps me immensely to see how you put outfits together, and see the things you have shopped for. Thank you for your videos!
I would add: - Perfume - Done hair (from previous days, or from having it braided) - Nails (natural or from the stetician) - Bucal hygiene - Tamed brow hairs - Just not choosing sports clothing I really liked your video! X
Oh but please minus the perfume! So many are chemical sensitive, including pets. A mellow essential oil irritates fewer people, but traditional perfume is such a trigger for so many health issues.
Always great, well thought out tips! I loved the one about posture. It’s something we can do with literally no extra time spent. But your right it does make all the difference!
Posture is indeed very important, I sit straight and slightly put shoulders backwards every time when being interviewed for a job... and it gives me much more confidence!
Something I've done for years and works for me: I have 2 season-appropriate "emergency" grab-and-go outfits hanging, separately, in my closet at all times. Right now, for spring and summer, I have an easy no-iron dress, and one pair of navy trousers with a fine knit 3/4 sleeve navy "tee". Either outfit is can be styled differently by simply choosing a different type of shoe. Depending on the season, I also keep a jacket or scarf that complements both looks. I make myself NOT wear these clothes unless it's the kind of day when something has gone wrong and I do not have more than 10 minutes to get dressed...which doesn't happen often because I plan my work-week outfits every Sunday and set them aside, steamed and everything---another strategy that has worked wonders for me. I find doing anything in a rush a bit unsettling, so I try to be prepared for the things I can control. (Strangely, I'm not much of a planner otherwise. For example, holidays arrive and I find myself with no tickets or reservations for anything...not even an idea of where to go or what I'd like to do.) I love the all black look! You are right in thinking a turtleneck makes an outfit look immediately more elegant. I don't wear jeans often, but a good pair of trousers and a turtleneck is a surefire way to look put together with minimal effort. I'm enjoying your videos and the thoughtful reasoning behind your lifestyle.
Thanks for this! Because of you I started wearing jewelry every day and I kid you not, I have been feeling so much better about myself. More feminine, charming and CLASSY! I look forward to learning more from you. Thanks again x
and I'm a petite from Russia. I've been using many of the tips from your videos intuitively, without realizing it. So watching your videos often feels deja-vu and like I know you. You're amazing and so inspiring!
This is so funny, lately I’ve been dressing horrible to work and I’m like I really need to get it together and this video popped up! Thanks so much! I’m definitely adding more jewelry!
Honestly? Being at a healthy weight makes one look so much more comfortable and put together without much effort. No excessive sweating, altered gait, tighter clothing, etc. Looking better and being more comfortable and stylish are some of my motivation for working on my weight.
@@kimbrolyy Agree with you! Workouts and reaching that healthy weight may be quite challenging and having the right clothes makes you feel good and confident now!
Rules for my closet: It gets ironed, BEFORE it gets hung in the closet. I choose the outfit, the night before, if possible. Well planned beats rushed, any day. I'm cool toned- white gold or sterling silver is my preference.
Last week, I was hesitant to wear an all-black outfit. It was black skinny jeans with satin-like longsleeves. I felt like attending a funeral. But my colleagues noticed that I looked so much better with that outfit. Im currently ditching colors in my wardrobe and try to opt for neutrals.
William Costes as someone who wears almost exclusively all black, I have a few tips to avoid looking like you’re a mall goth or at a funeral. First, jewelry. If you’re warm toned, go for gold or brass colored and if you’re cool toned, go for silvers. Jewelry makes a huge, huge difference. I love wearing a big, colorful statement necklace or colorful statement earrings with a black turtleneck and black midi skirt. Next, belts. I wear a belt every day and actually wear a Western inspired belt with an ornate silver buckle that I got from a cowboy Halloween costume, but it’s such a cool look with a black t shirt and jeans or even a turtleneck and slacks. You could also wear skinny belts, chain belts, beaded belts... the possibilities are so endless. Shoes also matter, if you put on a slick loafer, you’ll be comfortable and look like you’re in a working environment. But you could also put on a pair of killer heels for a night out. Same for bags. For me, makeup and hair is how I change my style. Let’s put it all together: An elegant French twist, red lip and winged eyeliner with a black turtleneck and black linen slacks plus loafers and a black clutch looks so different than the same outfit but with my hair down and naturally curly with fluffed up eyebrows, graphic mod eyeliner, very glossy lips, statement earrings, and a pair of heeled boots. Moral of the story, let your accessories do the talking!
@@discogoth Yes, excellent tips! Accessories and styling make all the difference. I wish there wasn't so much criticism of black in the fashion world nowadays. Black was always considered so chic and flattering, now it seems like all of a sudden it's "boring," and we're all supposed to wear bright colors and patterns. Sorry, it's just not me, and not conducive to a wardrobe that stands the test of time.
Perfumaphilia the BEST thing about accessories is you can totally switch up aesthetics too! Wearing the same black turtleneck and black straight leg jeans, you can go from chic minimalist to beatnik to e-girl to working professional just by changing the makeup and accessories. I change up my style CONSTANTLY but I’ve been wearing the same ~40 pieces of clothing and shoes for several years.

@Karena Rojas I'm wearing Jesse Kamm for both outfits. I've owned the black pair for nearly 4 years and the dark blue were gifted to me 2 years ago. I do own the affordable pair in black as well though. Both work.
I'm 5'1 and 114 lbs and I have a short torso (I just don't have your amazing hips and waist, I'm more like a square tbh lol) but just by looking how amazing you look, makes me want to buy every single cloth you wear! I've been following you for a couple of years, but I think I'm gonna start putting more attention to your tips and clothes! Because... who wouldn't like to look as classy as you?! 😝
As much as I'd like to style a white shirt like a Parisian, I often find myself looking like a first-day intern wearing a white shirt with black pants :( I notice that you seem to have ironed the collar of your shirt a bit differently that it kinda changed the way it feels, could you please share with us how you did that? Thanks and love your channel!
I keep a handheld steamer ($35-45 @ Target OR Amazon) IN my closet. It takes all of 2 minutes to completely unwrinkle anything! I too hate ironing, I usually will grab my nicer items out of the dryer before it's completely dry & hang it up. Button-down shirts I usually pull on to straighten & reshape the collar, pockets or any wrinkled areas. If a wrinkle is deeply set in, a spritz of water & pulling on the fabric to reshape it works wonders=)
These tips are great! I find that when I fix my posture I look way better than when I don’t and my outfit looks less frumpy too. Since I’ve started watching your videos though I’ve been feeling more confident in the way I dress and I feel way more confident overall 💕💕💕

I used to always lay my outfit, accessories, and handbag but the night before. I had stopped doing that for some reason. I also returned to my old, classic style with a few updated tweaks and keep to a modified capsule wardrobe. I adore make- up and simple gold jewellery and pearls. I have an huge make-up collection. I have a c sort by a capsule make-up selection with neutrals, soft pinks, etc. I usually stick to a soft pink lip or a classic red, but sometimes a neutral pinky beige. If I'm running late, I moisturise, buff on some bare minerals, tidy up and lightly shape eyebrows, curl lashes, and light mascara, along with a few swishes of bronzer and / or blush. The latter can be swept across eyelids, line lips, lipstick, blot, lightly set with mineral powder, remove excess, reapply very lightly the liner, and lipstick. Sometimes a touch of sheer or pinky -beige gloss, but only a tiny dab at center of the lips. Optional : setting spray and perhaps a second coat of black mascara. That may sound like a lot. It's not. I never want to look made-up. Laying out my clothes the high before gives me greater peace in the morning. Taking time for me to look and feel great boosts my confidence as well. I have a backup casual outfit for rain or snow in winter, spring, or autumn mostly. Or if I should feel a bit fluffy or bloated from.... I now have and make time for a second cup of coffee, prayer, and a daily devotional; perhaps even journaling. I thoroughly enjoy my mornings a whole lot more. My day even goes better because of a few simple changes. And yes, great posture is essential; as is daily exercise, to least for me. I have far more energy all day and night. Love you and your style, Bethany! I feel like I have a style like you, but we are about to go tent camping and im trying to figure out what to wear and how to dress my husband. I want to dress chic yet practical for camping. Would you show us what minimal wardrobe you’d bring for camping, hiking, biking, chilly nights, hot or chilly days, and lots of dirt😂? 😘
Exactly the kind of video I was looking for ❣ love your tips, do you think a watch is a must have accessory? I feel throwing on a watch that goes with your outfit can instantly elevate the outfit and the message that our look will send out.
Good job, girl! I looove your videos. You are so beautiful and classy. Also your voice is so soothing. Please, never leave UA-cam! Kisses from Barcelona 😘
I agree! I almost put perfume on the list but decided to leave it off because of the video being more about "looking". Fragrance is definitely a plus though! Would love to hear your favorite perfume!
Can you suggest a "non wrinkle" button up shirt that is off white. I do not look good in white and do better with cream, bone, soft white. I would appreciate a suggestion. My one beef with Everlane is most of there items are cool colors (black, white, navy) and I do best in warm colors. Thank you for a very helpful video. My style is definitely changing for the better since watching your videos.
you can take a look at Uniqlo. they have many rayon blouses, including button ups, in many different colours. of course it's not as much of a "sustainable brand" as everlane, but it could be a good start to finding what you like :)
People who are saying that its all a good figure or money necessary to follow these are wrong.. Even if you are joking it might actually make someone feel that it's not for them. I don't have a great figure or height, nor am I wealthy.. I am just a normal pear fellow.. But following the tips and making small investments every time I buy new clothes has added so much more fashionable and classy clothes to my wardrobe.. Clothes look so much better on my body now.. Tucking in helps because we are pear shaped..it is a very good clothing option for all pear shaped women. If you are some of other body shape, you should see what options are available for you..

Very efficient and well put together video!
Glad this was recommended. Instantly subscribed!
The first outfit blew me away. Wow.

Love it! You have a very relaxing, easy-to-listen-to voice. Thank you.
Exactly the kind of video I was looking for ❣ love your tips, do you think a watch is a must have accessory? I feel throwing on a watch that goes with your outfit can instantly elevate the outfit and the message that our look will send out.
Watches are great 🤗

Yess to the wrinkle free, I avoid buying clothes that wrinkle easily because I hate ironing
Bethany, your channel is so helpful and a pleasure to watch! New favorite!
Off topic but your house is gorgeous ❤️
This video was made for me. Awesome tips! Thanks Bethany.
Nice! Lipstick is a must when I dress up. One more thing a good fragrance with any outfit makes me feel the perfect. Thankyou.
I agree! I almost put perfume on the list but decided to leave it off because of the video being more about "looking". Fragrance is definitely a plus though! Would love to hear your favorite perfume!
I use Nykka's wonderlust Japanese Cherry Blossom body mist. Recently loving the fragrance!
Dearly Bethany What tinted balm is featured? Thank you!
Jyoti Anuragi ✌️
I missed you !! Haven’t checked ur vids in a while 💕
Love the gold jewelries!
Abaya always makes me look elegant ✨
Would love to know how much time do you spend getting ready in the morning
Depends on the day. For a coffee run: 15 minutes. Business lunch: 30 minutes. For a video: shower, hair, makeup so an hour.
This is fantastic! Also, love Kosas!!!!!
If you are some of other body shape, you should see what options are available for you..
you are amazing.. your videos help alot in upgrading the style thank you for making such videos
💛🤗💛
Totally needed this. I'm starting a new job next week and this is soo helpful!
