Hi lovely friends. If you are petite, what are your styling tips? Please do feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with our lovely community here. Lots of love, Deirdre. XX
Only make friends with people shorter than you.
@@americafirst9144 Yes, I love that too!! And especially, only get yourself photographed next to people who are shorter than you! XX
There are so many petite women, I find it strange that there are so few brands who make clothes for us.
I’ve always thought so too. I’m 66 now and when I was young finding petite clothing was nearly impossible. I wore girls sizes in pants back then, and still do sometimes since I’m only 5ft tall.
That chocolate brown skirt/sweater looks stunning on you, I love those colors.
5’2 and grateful for these tips. Tote vs purse ✅ Pointed toe shoes ✅
Thanks for all your great advice, as a petite I’m always looking for shops that really look after us petite girls x
Learning to wear monochromatic outfits as huge for me. 👍🏻
Hi again Deirdre from Australia. I'm not petite, but it doesn't matter....I love listening to your advice anyway. 😊 Thank you for being such a Sweetheart and catering to all of us across the board. You are appreciated. x
Thank you so much, Andrea, you are sweet. XX
Thank you! My tip is to not wear drop shoulders...
I am 5'3 and short in body length. I often find it difficult to find jackets and coats that don't swamp me! Petit clothes ranges are harder to find these days, so thanks for introducing me to this range, I'll definitely be checking them out. When I was younger and a lot slimmer, I could sometimes get away with teenage or older children's tops! They were the right body length on me! Now I go for something that at least has some definition in the waist and not past the hip length. I am always having to turn back cuffs.
Thanks, really enjoy your posts.
So glad it was helpful. XX
5'6", short torso, long legs, large bust, so your tips are very helpful.
I'm so pleased to be able to help. XX
A very good video! I'm 6 feet tall and everything you mentioned about proportion is definitely spot on. For me, everything is too short.
Thank you so much for sharing! I envy you with your height, but we always want what we haven't got, don't we?! XX
Wonderful Vids! You have taught me so much, the camel pants on you however….there was something that wasn’t right. It might be the shoes or the length or something…..wondering if it was the width……but WOW on the chocolate skirt combo, so MUCH BETTER….I am very new to all this and I appreciate all your vids and all the sweaters suited you so well….. I am 66 and in Canada and I always laugh at the extra long trousers everyone recommends that would just suck up all the water on our perpetual rainy days….. Lots of fun and laughs but appreciative from Georgia in Canada.
As I have said in previous videos, I personally don’t find 5’4 petite. It isn’t that short imo. I would consider anything under 5’3 petite and especially myself at only 5 foot. I would be tiny in comparison. I also have a problem in finding clothes that fit my proportions properly but in all honesty, nothing could make me look taller unfortunately. I’ve always hated being petite but isn’t a lot I can do about it. I’m a bit old at 55 to wear heels, and sometimes trying to look taller as a petite can backfire and you end up looking like a little girl playing dress up. I don’t follow any style rules, I just wear clothes that look and feel good on.
What matters is what clothing manufacturers think is petite.
@@Joelswinger34 Not in Australia where most of our clothes are made in China, and they think all us Aussies are ten foot tall and I would not demean myself by going to the “kiddies” department. Also, the world isn’t geared up for petite women under say 5’3.

I'm 4 ft 10 in and am 74 years old I weigh 150 pounds. I like to wear nice clothes. I can't wear heels and turtle necks bother me.
Love the sweaters, they look really nice on you!
Thanks Deirdre! Everyone in my family is definitely petite, excpet me at 5'4 and 3/4. I grew up with Pettite women.
I’m old enough to have discovered my own personal style. But at only 5 ft tall and having a combo inverted triangle/rectangular build, proportion is the one problem I run into over and over. As the saying goes, The Struggle is real. 😄
Good advice, loving these colors👍
I'm 4"11 and a size 2 foot, so I have real trouble with clothes ❤ your hauls x
I love the jumper and skirt. I'm 5ft 4 and find petite clothes too short in jumpers and tops and too small everywhere. I wear midi lengths.
thank you for the petite video
Some great advice and items 😊
Love this video.
Great advice!
Hello- I’m 5’5” and regular clothes are still too long in pants, shirts and sleeves. So I do buy petite sizes .
Hello Deirdre. Thank you for another useful video. Loving that grey coat/jacket.
Thanks for your tips, Deidre! And your bubbly personality, it's always so uplifting to see and hear you.
You're also a perfect model for this niche- You look so comfortable yet elegant in everything you modeled.
I do wish this shop had a brick & mortar location here in NYC where you mention they're based- but they don't. And their address to mail any returns to is in New Jersey. I miss the ability to try clothes on, the tactile aspect of feeling their fabric, especially at these price points. I also love walking around a store and pairing my desired garment with various items in the store to achieve a complete outfit/look..
Am I alone in missing the in-person shopping experience? I feel we petites have an extra challenge that makes trying on even more important. Still....I'm grateful for your mentioning this store as one more resource.
I'm partial to the store Agnes B. ...they apparently cut their designs on a 5'4" frame. Not an inexpensive brand but for a few classic pieces, they've served me really well and DO have brick & mortar stores so one can try on before purchasing. Since you're not sponsored by PetiteStyle, I figured it's ok to mention other brands here. Thanks again Deidre!
Fabulous as always ❤❤
Thanks for the petite video. I'll take a look at that shop.
I love how you put things together. My problem is I am, through osteoporosis, now only 5 foot tall but have big legs through lymphodema . Not whinging,, just exolaining reasons. Help with not ending up looking like a brick would be appreciated without maybe not always wearing wide keg trousers. ❤
Oh Veronica, my heart goes out to you. My mother had osteoporosis so I understand what it can be like. Do you wear long(ish) skirts? That might be something to think about as an alternative to wide cut trousers. XX
The sweater with the skirt is fabulous! Thank you for the tips.😎
Deirdre, thanks for the site and the content of the video. Im short with a short waisted torso and I really needed some advice. Thank you and have a blessed Thanksgiving Day. ❤❤❤
And to you too! XX
Great suggestions for us Petite ladies! Can you share what size you are wearing in the Lexi Sweater? Thank you!
Hi Deidre -- Thanks so much for all your helpful style advice, but especially today's video for us petite gals! I am absolutely loyal to M&S for trousers -- they carry almost all of their styles in 'short' or even 'extra short' unlike some retailers who only offer a few (or no) options.
Absolutely agree! I find myself buying from Marks and Spencer a lot for that reason. XX
Thank you Deirdre.
Lovely pieces, especially the faux fur jacket. I tend to shop at Seasalt, they do all sizes, including petites!
Verticality. Another fabulous word - I do feel like I'm adding to my vocabulary by tuning into your to your amazing channel, Deidre. xx
Ha ha!! Wonderful! Xx
Good tips as always. I am not a petite, but loved the faux fur and the Lara jackets. They were beautiful!
They really are!! XX
Good one Deidre! Interesting new brand so thanks for the introduction x
You're so welcome. XX
Hi Dierdre! Great tips! I'm 5'4" as well so I really appreciate your advise on the topic!! Lovely pieces put together for stylish looks!! Thank you!!
You are so welcome Celia. Take care. Xx
Thank you. This is a wonderful video. I've noticed shoulder pads seem to be coming back in some items. Good for petites?
AS I'M PETITE, THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR GREAT TIPS!!!!
Hi to your NICE husband, PETS to CHANEL, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
🤩
Great tips! Do you know any petite brands that aren't so expensive, please
You are ace 😊😊😊
This is so helpful....I am 5'2".....
I’m petite only 5ft with big bust, ?should coats & jackets always be able to be worn closed, or is it ok to have coat/jacket just being left open? Some of my coats n jackets are now a bit small across chest so look too tight when closed.
Beautiful video ❤ pretty lady 😍 thanks 🙏👍 Allah bless you and your family ameen ❤ lots of love and respect
Why do manufacturers make sleeves so long? Are women out there with super-long arms?? I love 3/4 sleeves just to achieve the proper length. Love your videos, Deirdre, you are a lovely person.
I wonder the same thing as you!! Xx
I'm tall as a giraffe. But I can still learn from you🎉🎉🎉🎉
Lucky you!!! Lots of love, XX
Soooo helpful and beautiful dear thanks for your efforts to come up with this video but unfortunately it was short 😢 much love ❤️
Oh dear. Would you like a longer video?! Xx
Sure dear 😊

Didn’t you mean petite?
Always really good to know about a petite brand, Deirdre, especially since Precis bit the dust. I shall check them out. It's interesting that petites are now under 5'5. It used to be 5'3. I am a 5'1 pear-shaped so the shoulders are really important and finding petite jackets is hard especially now M&S seem to have stopped doing them. Thanks so much for this video!
What about wide leg pants?
My problem is that the Petite in length might fit better for length (I’m 5’3” size 4), but they also seem to be short from the waist to the crotch area! I can’t do that, so I need to stay with regular sizes and then prob get it altered either in the waist or length 🙄
You have a lovely figure and look fabulous in all your outfits. I am 5' 2" and have many clothes tailored. It makes a huge difference. I cannot tuck anything in. Shortening tops and having pant sides taken where necessary create a perfect fit. I am somewhat overweight at size 14 .
I’ve just noticed....you look so much like Tori Spelling.
Thank you. It's not the first time someone has mentioned this, actually! XX
Looks lovely but shame it’s a US company …
They ship internationally. Xx
