Totally agree about slim belts being best for those who are short-waisted and/or petite. I am both at 5'2".
Love your videos. Excellent tips for us over 50 girls.
I have used a number of tips learned here, and definitely elevated my look on a number of occasions.
I have accumulated a large number of classic pieces over the years, and have made myself some new stylish pieces to add the modern twist.
I have also inherited from my mother and mother-in-law, some very lovely classic jewellery (like pearls) and a few fabulous classic silk scarves which really do elevate the outfit when worn cleverly.
After losing my husband I went through a tough time, and did not pay too much attention to the way I was dressing.
I am now in a new chapter in my life, and looking slim and good, with a positive outlook on the future, and thoroughly enjoying my absolute best.

Love your channel but unfortunately a lot of woman like myself wear glasses so sunglasses are hard for people who wear glasses to have sunglasses accessory but agree with the other accessories you are spot on love your input 😍

I alternate between a classic style and somewhat boho/hippie. Looking in my jewelry boxes is fun because there are gold hoops, pearls…earrings and necklaces…and then funky chandelier earrings and beaded bracelets, wooden bracelets and necklaces. I have several pr of sunglasses. Not a belt person, but do have one brown leather one. I don’t wear heels at all. But my footwear isn’t boring….I have pink suede ankle boots, Birkenstock, classic loafers, and ballet flats….in classic tan, and another pr that are pink. Have quite a few scarves that up the look of my usual white shirt & jeans. I also use an old fashioned piece of jewelry…a brooch that I pin to my classic camel colored coat. My accessories range from 14 karat gold, & real pearls to inexpensive costume jewelry. It’s absolutely not necessary to spend a fortune on accessories. I have worn my pearls with a white tee and jeans, and my boho, beaded & wooden bracelets with a classic linen sheath. I love accessories. 😁
Great ideas on your video how to rethink clothes already in your closet. Today I'm wearing an ivory jean jacket, v-neck T shirt, dressy soft-floral , knife pleat dressy skirt, beige sandals. Mix it up, it looks very stylish. Thanks for all your ideas.

I love all of these accessories: good leather belts on the narrow side, silk or cashmere scarves, and pearl jewelry. Once, I acquire these, I don’t get rid of them, but wear them forever. Thanks, Deirdre❤

My best anti-frump tip is: don’t wear long, tunic-length tops or sweaters, ever, they create an immediately dowdy, matronly look. Tuck them in, or wear waist-length instead.

pearls are very versatile, you can style them with basically any outfit! pair it with pearl studs would be very elegant everywhere~
Loved the idea of elongating the body with the longer, rectangular scarf. My favourite accessories are sunglasses and handbags.
You look fabulous in the jeans and I'm looking forward to your next video. As a pear shape, i often feel self conscious in jeans as my legs are thinner than my body.

I love sunglasses as well, but for me they cost a fortune, as I have to wear a pair with progressive lenses. Unfortunately it doesn't help to look great without being able to have a look at something or someone 😉😉😉.

A real puzzlement, would adore your feedback❤
I need sunglasses year-round, modern environments have so many reflective surfaces. They have to be prescription, though, and they’re expensive. I just bought a four-pair glasses wardrobe, two clear pairs for indoors and two pairs of sunglasses, twice what I ever had before, it’s great to have two styles/colors of each. But, it cost me almost $1,400, even with my $400 insurance allowance. I was so broke for 25 years that I couldn’t afford a single new pair and I didn’t have insurance, so I was wearing my two old pairs from before, or 35 years ago, I wore out the newer ones after 15 years of constant wear. I never want to be in the position of not having a backup pair of each again! (I don’t like the photosensitive ones, they have a residual dark tint indoors which is very unflattering for my deep-set, darkish, small eyes). To protect your vision, always get Polaroid lenses, those that are just tinted dark damage vision, they let in more damaging solar radiation than clear lenses, or even no lenses.
I love belts, but as a short-waisted petite, I know they must be on the narrow side. I’m also drawn to using scarves or silky ties as a belt, and that can really be tricky. In fact I should probably avoid them but I can’t help myself!

Hi Deidre! This was a lovely video and I can put together many of the ideas by shopping my closet. May I just add a little suggestion? Completely flat sandals and sneakers without an arch support are very hard on your foot structure over time. No matter the comfort level. As are heels of course. I have needed to use orthotics because of the damage unsupported footwear has done to my feet over the years, and eventually surgery. Please try to find sandals and sneakers with arch supports your feet will thank you. There are many brands 2ho feature this, including Archie's and Skechers as well as Birkenstock. As for heels... I call them "hotel shoes". Wear something else to walk there and change! Hope this is a helpful comment.

What jewellery can I wear to draw attention away from my neck, I hate my neck, but it's been due to a muscle problem that it's sags, can't afford to have neck surgery 😅. Thank you. Tips from anyone will be most welcome. ✨
Hi Anne. Sorry to hear about your neck issues. One way to approach this is to draw attention to another part of the body with jewellery, such as wearing lots of stacked bracelets or a single statement bracelet. This would draw the focus down to your waist area rather than around your neck. Also, you might consider interesting belts which would do the same thing. Also, how about scarves around your neck which might cover the offending area? Would that work? I hope this helps. XX
