I have bilateral vestibular hypofunction and chronic bppv on both sides. The epley maneuver never helped me. I have seen 3 vestibular physical therapists. They have stated to me that it's unusual to have chronic bppv.

Thank you both for this informative session! I have BPPV and it's been 2 months. I'm seeing a PT and it helps but then it comes back. I wonder if an MRI or CT scan would be something to pursue to see if there is an underlying condition.
My primary care doctor is going to refer me to OSU Medical Center's vestibular rehab care. Your video helped me understand this condition so much better.

I have recurring vertigo. The Epley has worked for me in the past. Dr. Tate, your Epley exercise video was very clear and right on. Can you discuss if a vitamin deficiency, i.e. B12, vitamin D and/or foods that could trigger vertigo? I have osteopenia, tinnitus and ocular migranes. I seem to turn my head back and forth during the night and hear cracking my neck, will this trigger vertigo? Thanks liz

    Hello, Dr please help me.
I woke up last Thursday with a head spinning round in circles I could not turn my head to left and I tried to wake up. I could not. I felt my head was heavy and felt back again in bed. I called 999 the paramedic came and told them your blood level and heart rate is fine. But told me to sit up. I stood up and sat in bed was feeling everything was moving and fine after when not moving.
I went to AnE and the doctor told me to do by myself to do one of the exercise that she thinks it is. And now my GP is telling me it might be a vestibular or BBPV and told me not to do the Brandt-Daroff Exercise. And told me to do a blood test which I done today. Waiting for results and told me to do your normal work activity.
    However,
When I stand I can look straight, left, right is great. (Up and down is ok) But looking head down left is not ok. 😞 and bending left is really bad.
When I sleep ( head up and turning my head right is ok ) I can sleep.
But when I turn my head left when sleeping then this goes wrong. I feel like my left side of ear is effected.
I have tinnitus since more than 1.5 years.
What will be the best possible outcome. Please help me or who to reach out.

Hello, thanks so much for this informative session. I went to the ER and they diagnosed me with BPPV, but the doctors told me there is no treatment for this. And coming back home and finding online that there are treatments make me wonder what to do. Should i look to consult elsewhere? Also i read and hear mostly about the vertigo coming and going, but ive had ongoing for 16 hrs now, it does not stop. They discharged me from the ER with Betahistine for vertigo and anti-nausea medicine. They told me it would go away. Your thoughts on my experience? It is being so debilitating even in this short amount of time.Thank you.

I had BBPV this year for the second time, had it last year after a few sessions to reposition de crystals, it went away but after I feel off for a few weeks, GP's says I should feel normal after. So I though something else was wrong, but recently I found information about residual dizziness after BPPV and how it can last up to 3 months. You think the reposition manoeuvre could help, or just the vesicular exercises?

Hi govinda mas, The repositioning maneuver could help again, yes. I have total bilateral vestibular loss for 5 years now. It has turned my whole world upside down. I can no longer drive and now am on disability. I have hoped and prayed for some kind of help. I was on study for a cochlear implant that would help with the balance issue but then covid hit and the study is at a standstill. I still hope that there is some kind of medical breakthrough to help. Do you have any information on anything?

PatCal again. I wonder if tremor can cause this. I get very emotional. I live alone n this is very scary to the point of feeling desperate.
