Mr. O'Brien great videos I subscribe to ask you this... do you think the 43 mm classic will be too small for my wrist 7 1/4? For the last three watches I've had the 44 mm I don't know if I made a mistake purchasing the 43 classic😢 does the 47 mm feel too big for your wrist as well as look too large?
Is the 47mm Silver model the polished stainless steel? I have the GW 4 Classic 46mm and was very surprised when I saw the 44mm Silver HW 4 Classic as it was shiny and beautiful like mirror chrome whereas my 46mm Classic 4 is more akin to brushed aluminum (even tho it is supposedly stainless steel). I did find out from other owners that all the 46mm ones are the brushed look for some reason, so I’m hoping Samsung went with shiny chrome on the large model this time! If not then probably will get the black model for variety, but if you can shed light on this it would be great!!! Thamks!
I personally would. Check the link for the trade in value! I was seeing some pretty decent trade in values. The larger display on the 6 is worth it in my opinion. The 5 had such a terrible bezel
It would be so helpful to know your wrist size?!?! I cannot decide between the 47 and 43mm. I have about a 6.75 inch wrist. Whata your wrist size and you are wearing the 47mm correct?
What about the fall detection? I was not able to get it working on my Watch4 or Watch5. Nor have I been able to test this function. How should this function be tested? I noticed that all pre-watch6 state "Hard Fall Detection" and the Watch6 states "Fall Detection". To me this implies that there is something different. Was it enhanced? Getting assistance from Samsung on this has been impossible for me.
I'm going to buy the watch 6 classic probably. But maybe I should wait for the Pixel watch 2? Thanks for the video though. Your videos are the best the are.
The hardest hurdle for me wanting the Samsung Galaxy watch is the lack of Fitbit service, as I'm already in that ecosystem. I heard that Fitbit is releasing a Wear OS app so I'm really hoping that Galaxy watch gets Fitbit support I can opt into.
I have the 40mm Galaxy Active 2 and haven't found the digital bezel a problem, the majority of the screen is visible when I'm rotating round the options. I prefer a discreet watch so the GW6 40mm would be my preference. It would be good to be able to print out a template to get a feel for the size. I am most interested in are battery life and water resistance. My Active 2 can comfortably last 48 hours, GW5 users seem to struggle with 24 hours and that's with Samsung's recommendations to constraining many of the features to save power. The GW6 has a bigger battery but does that translate into a much improved run time? How will the 300 mAh and 425 mAh compare? My Active 2 charges pretty quickly and there's generally an inactive point in the day when I can put it on charge for an hour. Maybe battery life shouldn't be a big concern. The forums and channels raise a lot of issues with watches failing due to water ingress. I did see a Samsung response which indicated that they can be immersed in water but there shouldn't be any vigorous movement. So not suited to swimming? I've not risked my Active 2 in the pool, I'd love a watch that could track my swimming.
I have the same watch as you and I have swum with it in pools and it works just fine, you need to put it on water mode (not sure if that's what its called) and when you get out turn it off and the sound will get the water out. I am assuming that it's the same for the newer version. I have also been in waterslides and after it works like normal
@@LauraO4 The water lock seems to be a help, especially as it will blow droplets of water out. I was just being overly careful given quite a few people had posted issues after swimming, but then many more had reported no issues. I was planning to give my Active 2 a try given it wouldn't be expensive to replace. Today, I have just received a Watch6, I thought I would give it a try given there is a free return option. I have only been using it for a few hours and what was immediately obvious is how much bigger the visible display is despite the case being a very similar size. I have the 40mm Active 2 and now the 40mm Watch6. I don't like big watches and a smallish wrist so this seemed the best choice. So far it is perfect, I will see how it performs and how long the battery lasts. I've reasoned it probably won't last as long as the Active 2 but for most situations I can take it off and fast charge it quickly.
One thing that always seems to get overlooked in these comparisons is the haptics. The Galaxy Watch Classics have always had much stronger haptics and a major reason I choose it over the standard version. The standard version haptics are way too weak for me and I often miss notifications.
I also like 47 mm but my wrist is 6.5 inch circumference and not that big. In dilemma which to order either 44mm or 47mm. But i like 47mm big screen. Pls advice
What about black paint durability in classic version? Is it tend to wear/chip over time? I really like black colour because it is the most universal and it basically match to everything, but my biggest concern is its durability.
Very durable. I had the Gear S3 for four years. No issues with black color being removed. I still have the Watch 4 Classic in black and no issues either.
I just bought a watch 6 for $120 yesterday. Currently have watch 3 classic. I haven't received the new one yet, but I feel I'm gonna miss the rotating bezel. 🤦♂️ Plus I'm a welder and it takes quite a beating daily. Guess we'll see how it goes. 🤷♂️
I have a watch 3 classic, I was looking for an upgrade purposely skipped the 5 because the lack of the rotating bezel. Needless to say I never did up upgrading to anything else.
If i turn off the AOD on watch 6 classic 47, wifi, automatic google play update, and also turn off the sensors, and only use the nigth sleep tracking and bluetooth connection and messages, how many days can i extend the battery life?
Question for all Samsung watch wearers, I have been using the Fitbit watch for years but moving on to a new watch since I have had issues with my last 2 watches. I have a very wimpy wrist (12cm) and was wondering if the Classic would be just too bulky for my wrist and should stick with the Watch 6 40mm face? I have and prefer the android phone so do not have the option to go to Apple watches. Any suggestions?
Galaxy Watch 6 45mm and Classic 47mm could have been the perfect smartwatches if they had the 3-day battery 🔋 life of the Watch 5 Pro But Samsung has become worse than Apple, when they give 1 thing, they take out another, now with Samsung, it's 1 step forward 2 steps back 🤦🏽♂️
I pre ordered the classic 6, then I found out that the only difference between the classic and regular 6 was the rotaing bezel. And the 6 classic is twice the weight of the regular watch 6. I canceled the classic and ordered the regular 6. Saved 50 bucks!
yes and no, the bezel helps protect your screen and a ton of people (me included) like the tactile feeling of the bezel rotating function(and how well it works), i've known people that returned their normal samsung watch once they noticed how nice the functions of the rotating bezel were. either way, i'm not here to sell you on an a more expensive version. people new to these kind of watches already have so much stuff to explore, and will be happy either way. but i personally wouldn't have bothered with the samsung watches if it wasn't for the bezel, it really is the extra thing that won me over compared to the 6 smart watches i already have.
Difficult question to answer, hasn't really been enough time to test the battery performances of the Watch 6s. The watch 5 Pro has a bigger battery but the watch 6s ship with Wear OS 4 which "claims" to have significant efficiency optimisations. Assuming that the Watch 5s will also get this update soon, it really depends on what you think about the other aspects of the watches. If you really want the Watch 6 classic, take advantage of the prerelease promotions they have going on and see what sort of discount you'd get with a trade in of you watch 5. Maybe it'll soften the price
@@JamarD421 i did get the 47 classic. To me it's good. Expected worse tbh. I don't use much fancy stuff though. Notifications and always on display. Lasts about 2-3 days on a charge.
I sold the 5 Pro because I have a 17cm wrist and that watch was too thick, wide and heavy. I don't consider the smaller versions (43mm and 40mm because the battery will suck). The 47mm version of the 6 Classic is even thicker and heavier than the 5 Pro, I preferred to take the Watch 6 LTE (44mm)
u happy with that? i was planning to buy classic 43mm but not sure about it. im beetween 43mm classic ws 44mm lte? which one u would prefer? do u thing 44 vs 43mm makes too much difference?
@arifulasertunc2341 I have both. Sizes. The smaller is just that. If you want a bigger screen. Get the larger. If not, get the smaller. For most wrists, the smaller has best proportions. Better for sleep tracking less, Clunky.
@arifulasertunc2341 Smaller for sure. Fits my wrist well. Bands fit better. Less clunky. More believable. That it's a watch. What I mean is that it doesn't stick out as a smart watch. Honestly, when I got the bigger watch, I thought the bigger screen would add to the usability. But I use the bezel and buttons 98% of the time, so the bigger screen is lossed on me. If you use your watch for directions, maps, or reading Maaaybe. The larger is marginally useful. Overall, I am pleased with both. But if I could only pick one. It's the smaller. If you have huge wrists, the larger might blend better. Hope this helps. Also, the battery is about the same, no difference. So just pick whichever you like more.
Galaxy watch 6 classic I was looking for a smart watch but nevet liked the sportylooks or square face of apple however the classic gives the looks of a traditional watch which is what i was after and the rotating bezel looks and feels great fantastic watch with a good weight like a traditional good quality watch
I know the Classic it's beautiful and stylish, but... 44mm it's my wrist limit. I own a GW5 44mm and it reaches the limit between a good size and being too big. Sadly, I cannot choose the 47mm GW6 Classic, and I'm not gonna choose the 43mm due to the smaller battery than my actual Watch (410mAh on GW5 vs 300mAh on GW6C 43mm). Guess I'll have to stay with my actual watch for now.
I was trying to decide between the Watch6 and 6 Classic and my deciding factor was the online sales person said the regular one doesn't have the 'Pay' feature. I wasn't able to find that detail anywhere.....my Classic comes tomorrow! We'll see how it goes!
I hope you enjoy your watch classic. Beautiful watch. Just so you know though, the rep lied to you. Pay is on both watches. It's even on my galaxy watch active 2.

😊
Can you please review the health app and tracking please? Thanks
I preordered my watch 6 44 mm yesterday August 11 can’t wait ❤
How you liking it? I'm thinking about upgrading from my watch 4.
One thing that always seems to get overlooked in these comparisons is the haptics. The Galaxy Watch Classics have always had much stronger haptics and a major reason I choose it over the standard version. The standard version haptics are way too weak for me and I often miss notifications.
Is there going to be a watch 6 pro as well ?
I also like 47 mm but my wrist is 6.5 inch circumference and not that big. In dilemma which to order either 44mm or 47mm. But i like 47mm big screen. Pls advice
Where does it state whether mine is 40mm or 44mm?
I still have my Watch4, don't really care for the rotating bezel but have they improved the responsiveness of the UI?
Thanks, it was very helpful
What about black paint durability in classic version? Is it tend to wear/chip over time? I really like black colour because it is the most universal and it basically match to everything, but my biggest concern is its durability.
Very durable. I had the Gear S3 for four years. No issues with black color being removed. I still have the Watch 4 Classic in black and no issues either.
This was exactly the video i was looking for. Thank you!
Any idea if a Galaxy Active watch 3 is happening?
Is it more comfortable to wear G6C than G4C ? had bad experience with bulky G4C
I have 40mm Samsung Galaxy watch 5 on 16cm wrist. Anything bigger is too bulky for my wrist.
@@muhd7144 Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated!
I recently bought the Watch6 Classic 47mm and am very happy with it
is there a battery difference between the different sizes?
Yes. 40mm (GW6) and 43mm (GW6Classic) uses a 300mAh battery.
44mm (GW6) and 47mm(GW6Classic), on the other side, uses a 425mAh battery.
@@mr.serejo9490 thanks man. Appreciate it
Is there a difference in screen size between the 44mm and 47mm?
Yes... One is 44mm and the other is 47mm so of course the 47 will have a bigger screen
Galaxy Watch 6 45mm and Classic 47mm could have been the perfect smartwatches if they had the 3-day battery 🔋 life of the Watch 5 Pro
But Samsung has become worse than Apple, when they give 1 thing, they take out another, now with Samsung, it's 1 step forward 2 steps back 🤦🏽♂️
at 3:09, whats the face called?
I've ordered the 6 clssic ... does anybody know what the lug size is to change the strap, I cannot find this information anywhere?
They finally brought back the rotating bezel. Hopefully, they will bring back the SD card slot back for the smartphones.

Hello everyone so i have a oneplus nord 30. Would i be betrer off getting the one plus watch 2. Or will the Samsung work with the nord
Thank you
It's nice to see that the classic is back and comes with a leather style strap this time
What's the battery life difference between the watch 5 pro and watch 6 classic (both 47mm and 43mm) versions. Not sure if i should upgrade or not :/
6 classic has 425mAh and 5 pro 590mAh, so its major downgrade...
@NostalgicMem0ries They'll keep selling the Watch5 Pro

Fantastic video! This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Awesome coverage on these devices, well done!
Thanks a lot Mike
is there a samsung watch 6 pro coming out?
I just ordered the 47mm classic in black, i hope the battery life is good 😬
Was it?
Yeah, was it?
@@JamarD421 i did get the 47 classic. To me it's good. Expected worse tbh. I don't use much fancy stuff though. Notifications and always on display. Lasts about 2-3 days on a charge.
Thank you for this review !!!
I'm kinda wanting to now get my hands on the Watch6. I'd love to get the Watch6 Classic, but it's kinda jig in terms of pricing.
Yeah, I am thinking the same, and their is not an actual upgrade on performance, not even in battery. I think that the 5 Pro has more battery.
Do both the 43 mm and 47 mm watch classic have 22 mm watch straps?
20mm
I'm still rocking my Classic4. The rotating bezel is the best.
Very awesome video, sir. Great comparison and thoroughly explained
Excellent video. Thank you.
I just wanna know if the battery is any different from watch 5
I really wanted to get the classic cause the bezel but they don't have a 40 mm for it and that's my size 😢
Yes, I like the classic but it is too big for my wrist 40mm is my size.
The difference between the 4 and 6 would be very much appreciated.
Working on that video now!
Good for you.
u happy with that? i was planning to buy classic 43mm but not sure about it. im beetween 43mm classic ws 44mm lte? which one u would prefer? do u thing 44 vs 43mm makes too much difference?
@arifulasertunc2341 I have both. Sizes. The smaller is just that. If you want a bigger screen. Get the larger. If not, get the smaller. For most wrists, the smaller has best proportions. Better for sleep tracking less, Clunky.
@@SpoiledBadgerMilk in the end which one you prefer ?
Galaxy watch 6 classic
I was looking for a smart watch but nevet liked the sportylooks or square face of apple however the classic gives the looks of a traditional watch which is what i was after and the rotating bezel looks and feels great fantastic watch with a good weight like a traditional good quality watch
Yeah I wish they had a 45mm Classic
I was trying to decide between the Watch6 and 6 Classic and my deciding factor was the online sales person said the regular one doesn't have the 'Pay' feature. I wasn't able to find that detail anywhere.....my Classic comes tomorrow! We'll see how it goes!
I hope you enjoy your watch classic. Beautiful watch. Just so you know though, the rep lied to you. Pay is on both watches. It's even on my galaxy watch active 2.
Even for exercise I prefer the classic. The 6 tend to crack from sides unless you have protector on watch and on screen
Nice review.
Hope you could make a video comparison between the watch 6 classic and Apple watch ultra. To see if the features are really accurate.
That is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thanks. I love Samsung but I cant deny the fact that Apple watch ultra's result are more accurate like in running. The distance and time of samsung is off.
Great video you got a sub from me! Hope you keep putting out content 🎉
Thankyou so much Mike, your review on the new galaxy 6 watches was very informative about me making a decision on the watches, I wanted to know what the differences were between the two, so thanks again I chose the galaxy 6 classic
Thanks for your video
47 6 classic, only time I'm not wearing it is when it's charging.... I love that thing.
