Thank you so much for all the work you put into this. I watch a lot of review videos and this is definitely the most in depth because you took the time to actually explain your day to day use and record measurements. This video was extremely helpful!!!
You are so welcome 😊 I’m so glad you found my video helpful! Thank you so much for recognizing the effort a video like this takes. I truly appreciate it 🙏
Amazing review! ❤ she planned the tests and offered comparative items, ran the test with proper records for everything, and gave easily explainable results. This is by far the best review I have seen!
Thank you so much for a simple, to the point, no frills review. So refreshing. I ordered my 7 a few days ago. After viewing your video, I feel confident I will be able to operate and enjoy my watch.
Very good! I got one, and my impressions are that the accuracy is very good. Better than my Garmin 55 and 165. The build quality is outstanding like the previous. The processor is noticably crisper. Personally, I don't worry about battery life. I just charge it during breakfast... That's enough. You have to charge your phone anyway. 👍
Great Job and thank you......very on-point and you covered it all.....the Battery Life on the Galaxy 7 and the GPS seem like the 2 most improved features.
Thanks for your nice overview. Do you know if the Heart Rate Variability works with non-Samsung smartphones? Maybe I missed it, but did you used the watch with a Samsung phone? Are the only functions that are not available blood pressure and ECG? Thanks :)
We just ordered two of them. I actually have a need for being able to monitor suspected sleep apnea as well as Afib and the EKg app. So this is a nobrainer for me. I have been enjoying a fitbit Sense, for a while and have been hoping for all these apps. It is like having a phone on the wrist. Review is Fantastic and right to the point
You’re welcome! I’ll answer your question this way: if a family member asked me which I would recommend for ECG or heart rate accuracy and their health depended on it, I would recommend the Apple Watch.
Appreciation for such a nice review of this watch. I just got the 40mm Green as a gift from my wife and it barely lasts a day, whereas my old initial galaxy gear sport of 2018 lasted over 3 days out of the box. Design wise and aesthetically i am loving this watch. Its so light. But your review has helped me in identifying some aditional sensors that can be turned off when nit in use and i identified areas of tweaking to improve performance. A classy review, keep doing the good work.
Thank you for the video. Can you offer any insight into 40mm battery life vs 44 mm? I have a 17 cm wrist. How do you find each size few comfort and aesthetics?
@wearablewhisperer Great, thank you. People are reporting issues with stairs climbed. My guess is that Altimeter will need to be calibrated and set to auto-refresh, and the watch synced with the weather app at the shortest possible increment to work reliably. There's there's the issue of what height constitutes a floor. This would be an interesting test since it hasn't currently got great coverage and is integral to core fitness tracker features.
This video was awesome! A super in depth review which was exactly what I was looking for. I greatly appreciate you including a section about charging speeds as I was very curious about that. I'm in the market to replace my Fitbit and with Black Friday around the corner I'm seriously considering the Galaxy watch 7 and this thoroughly convinced me! Thank you so much!
Nice details!! I have lte version of 40mm but the battery life I'm getting is around 1day 4-8 hrs. Is that normal? Its connected to bluetooth all the time.
Is your open swimming distance/speed/pace working?! I can be swimming in the sea for an hour and then tell me i just did 4meters :( i think something is wrong with my unit or with the GW7 in general
Fantastic video. Informative, analytical, and comparative. Great presentation as well. Many thanks. I'm feeling very good about my upcoming Galaxy 7 purchase!
Great review. Please do a GPS accuracy test on a map, i.e. how well the GPS tracks your physical location while e.g. walking. I have problems with mine, especially around buildings. So, I've enabled the "force full GNSS measurements" in developer options and now the accuracy is better. Before the accuracy was way worse than on my Watch 6.
Thank you for the positive feedback and suggestion. My 2 outdoor biking maps have looked perfect and my 2 walks have looked pretty good. (All were starting from where I live, so I didn’t want to share the maps…) I haven’t tested around tall buildings or trees yet, but I’ll try to do so in the future and report back. Thanks again 😊
In my experience, GPS track looks very nice in easy terrain, however when I took GW7 to the city together with my Garmin FR 955 and Suunto Vertical, GPS track of GW7 was zig zag and distance 10 % off (much worse than Garmin and Suunto) . On bike rides, GPS was very good and distance spot on. Where can I find developer settings? Thanks
@@jiribouda3191 Seems like my previous reply got lost somewhere, so here goes again: On the watch, go to Settings -> About watch -> Software information, look for Software version tab and keep tapping it several times until you see a prompt saying Developer options enabled. Go back where you started in the settings, and under the About watch you should now see the newly enabled Developer options. Under the developer options look for Force full GNSS measurements and toggle it on. Hope this helps.
I've tried to reply with exact instructions a couple of times but every time my reply is deleted (by UA-cam?). Anyways, something's not working so try googling. You should easily find the information.
can the galaxy watch 7 display the glucose information from the dexcom sensor, currently I have a galaxy fronter 3 that can display the glucose data from dexcom on the g - watch face without a problem. But I have heard displaying glucose readings may be an issue on the later watches.
The athleisure band is not stretchy (like the fabric is). You might see a red light at times during the night if blood oxygen during sleep is enabled. Even if you have heart rate enabled continuously, you won’t see the green light while it’s on your wrist.
You're welcome! This is the one that I personally have been using with my Galaxy Watches (because I have a few from other devices I own): amzn.to/4d6bs6x You could also consider this one: amzn.to/46w7stq (It is smaller, similar ratings, $1 cheaper right now, and from a reliable brand I also personally use--I have a dual USB-C power adapter from this brand that I use for travel and have never had any issues) Hope that helps 😊
I have a galaxy watch 3 and havent updated because I havent seen any new watches that gave a real benefit till now. I have been agonising over the 40mm and the 44mm. The 40mm sits on my small wrist the best but since the watch3 has a big frame its only 42mm. Battery is my main concern I want a full day out of my watch and I will use the watch 3 overnight. I sleep really well so its not a night time concern. Will the 40mm using all the bells and whistles like preferred watch face, gps, exercise, emails, text Ai be good for at least 15 hours?
One of the most useful reviews out there, thank you for the information. I'm really glad to see that the bands have been further proved, I'll spring for a third one at some point. I actually already ordered my Galaxy Watch 7. It felt like it was time to upgrade from the original Galaxy Watch 😂
From what I can tell so far, it’s mainly the features that require the Samsung Health Monitor App (which isn’t available for non-Samsung phones). This includes ECG, Blood Pressure, and Sleep Apnea (for those countries where those features are approved; blood pressure is not available in the US, for example).
Usually I don't reply or leave a comment to a UA-cam video but I really enjoyed with your video and it is really useful for me . I like the way you introduced the video and how you hit the point. My only comment is the eye contact with the camera need to be reviewed by practicing or you can use some apps to correct the eyes looking place
Any changes in the AGE index? I realized I can look at it as a monthly view and I do see my chart move up........ towards the high side. Probably not the direction I want to go but once the dots are lined up in the month view, it's a lot easier to see the minor differences.
Thanks alot for this detailed review. I had Watch 4, 5, and 6. I found that all three had incorrect heart rate when doing exercises involving moving the arms like jumping jacks etc. Could you possibly let me know how the Watch 7 heart rate accuracy when doing exercises with alot of arm movements?
You’re welcome. I plan to do more heart rate accuracy tests of my Galaxy watches over the next several weeks and report back. I’ll see if I can incorporate some other exercise types 😊
Crsip review based on personal usage data. Nice. Looks like HR is fixed this time. Sleep should also be better with SW updates being more complex analysis with sensors just on the wrist.. The downside as noticed is HR being more accurate for intensive tasks than for simple walking. With improved hardware Samsung should focus on software and algorithms to improve the scores. Finally we can expect Samsung being at par with Apple. Hope!!
Hi I'm On Watch 4 with a OnePlus 12 device, does Non Samsung Phone Paired Watches Have AGEs Index And Energy Score for usage unlike ECG and Blood pressure monitor limited to Samsung Phone Paired Watches. Your videos are Very Helpful
Thanks for this great review! Q. The Wireless power sharing feature is not working on the Galaxy Watch Ultra / Watch7. A. The Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch7 have a new rear sensor design to improve sensor accuracy over previous models. As a result, it is possible to assess health-related data points that were not previously supported as well as take more reliable measurements during prolonged or specialized exercises. However, the new sensor design required changing the shape of the back glass. The alteration increased the distance between the internal wireless charging coil of your Watch and the wireless charger, so the Wireless power sharing feature available on the previous model is no longer supported.
Grreat video , I loved this review, very interesting. I am going to buy one, but I want to know, which is the better colour for the watch 7 of 44? Gray or green? Colud you please tell me your opinion? Thank you so much again for your hard work
Excellent review, thank you. I'd be interested to know whether the blood pressure monitor is reasonably accurate and whether there's any significant difference in performance between the 40 mm and the 44 mm watches please.
Good question. I talk about the new Sleep Apnea detection feature in my Galaxy Watch Ultra Review video. Here's a link to that portion of the video: ua-cam.com/video/xQF8JHQnRJA/v-deo.htmlsi=_xcPM1WthOSMbKq5&t=875

Hello from Portugal 😁 Thank you for you video. I have one question related with "Energy Score". Does it work on any android smartphone, or does it have to be a Samsung one? Because I received the watch 2 days ago and it hasn't giving me any points yet. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it is because of the fact that I don't have a Samsung smartphone. And, the AGE's hasn't giving me anything either. Have a great day 😁👌
Pelo que vi noutros videos tens de esperar pelo menos uns 7 dias até obter certos dados para essas funcionalidades. Espera mais uns dias e devem mostrar! :)
you can generally get around 34-38 hours with watch 7 44mm bluetooth in normal mode and 2 days with power saving on with only raise to wake off, wifi off and cpu power reduction without always on display
Had the watch 7 a few ago, received samsung forgot to pack the band I chose (bonus band was included). Went through alot of communication with customer service. Had to send complete package back...for a new order. Estimated delivery 8-30-24....haven't shipped yet. I may cancel and keep my new 5 pro...ordered a few months ago worn about 10hour total. 💯 Kewl Unboxing &⌚️ review!
Great review. Thanks. Thanks also for the watch face tip. I installed it and think I may stick with it. Always looking for more complications in a clean design.
Hi, nice to meet you. For context, I'm from Colombia and these types of products are a bit expensive in my country. I want a smartwatch but I don't know whether to go for the Samsung Watch FE which is cheaper or go directly for the Watch 7 which is the most complete to date. Do you think the difference between one device and the other is worth it? Thanks for your reply and have a nice day :))))))))
Nice to meet you as well 😊 There are differences between the two devices for sure, but it is always hard to give advice when I don’t know what’s most important to you. It seems like price is quite important, but there are two ways of looking at price. You could get the cheaper one now and have less cost today, but the FE might feel outdated sooner, so you might feel the need to get an upgrade sooner. If it’s your first smartwatch, I might be inclined to recommend the FE because it should give you a feel for the smartwatch experience without having to fully invest in the “latest and greatest”. If something other than price is important to you, let me know and I can try to make a better recommendation. You have a nice day too 😊
@@wearablewhisperer Thank you so much for your response! You're absolutely right that the FE might become outdated sooner than the Samsung Watch 7, which is why I’d like to ask you one last question to clear things up. In your videos, I’ve noticed you do an excellent job analyzing how the sensors on these smartwatches work. I read in an article that these sensors aren’t always completely accurate, but based on your experience, is there a noticeable difference in the results and performance of the monitoring between the Samsung Watch FE and the Samsung Watch 7? I’m looking to improve my habits, especially my sleep, but I’d also like a general report since I’m really into sports. I also see a point in favor of the FE, which is the reverse wireless charging feature, something the Watch 7 doesn’t have. So battery life is another important aspect for me. Thanks again for your time and for your incredibly helpful videos!
The heart rate sensor on the 7 is somewhat more accurate than on the FE. However, neither is at the level of a Pixel Watch 2/3 or last 3 years or so of Apple Watches.
And just to add that the FE is only available in a 40mm size whereas you could get the 7 in a 44mm size which would be the largest battery capacity between the FE and the 7.
How refreshing to hear a no-nonsense, giggle-free in-depth review. A pleasure, Ma’am.

@@mikdlog Ah, então deve ser isso mesmo. Obrigadão 💪😁
you can generally get around 34-38 hours with watch 7 44mm bluetooth in normal mode and 2 days with power saving on with only raise to wake off, wifi off and cpu power reduction without always on display

Nice to meet you as well 😊
There are differences between the two devices for sure, but it is always hard to give advice when I don’t know what’s most important to you.
