Tried it!!!!! AMAZING!
Can make to your desired “crispiness”. I find that the less crispy ones have more flavor as the marinade did not dry out as much.
Also hickory liquid smoke (as opposed to mesquite) has more “bacony” flavor.
I added some black pepper to marinade
Warm water helps paper stick better
Trevor Bonney how long would you cook it?
How long ?
Trevor Bonney thanks for all of your tips! I have always wondered about those two liquid smoke flavors, and now I know thx to YOU! 💚
Thank you so much for the tips :D
Thank you. Will try.
That's so cool that you were born and raised with a plant based lifestyle!
Why are you being so mean?
Michell.e. M. It’s not lol
I know, right? He's so lucky! Smart parents :)
@@tomjenner6818 people are so quick to insult nice people.
The fact that you were parents raised you vegan is so incredibly beautiful... My husband and I have been vegan for almost a decade and we have a three-year-old who has been vegan from conception and will hopefully be for the rest of his life 🤗💚
Wow I wish I can do that my husband love meat too much 😳
I’m curious about vitamin b12 for your child
Which is only found in animal sources
@@ohgodno1655nutritional yeast is not from animals and is an excellent source of B12.
I use a heaping tablespoon of the smoked paprika, also some cracked black pepper. gives it a great color too : ) Also you can coat the whole sheets with a brush on a damp cutting board ,layer them and then just use a sharp pizza cutter to cut the strips. much faster.
I love that you were born vegan, I'm going to raise my children vegan from birth. It looked really good I'm going to try the recipe☺️
Those are some lucky kids :)

Kids will always want to eat what their parents are eating, so chances are they’ll enjoy vegan food even if you weren’t exclusively feeding them it ☺️
Yes! I’ve been vegan over 20 years, meat free over 30 years.Vegan is the best thing you could do for your babies! I gave birth to a healthy 10lb baby girl 16 years ago. She was always at the 90th percentile in intellectual and physical development. Vegan breast milk also made her brilliant and healthy...she potty trained herself before she was 2 and was reading and writing at 3 years old. Vegan kids are healthy compassionate little miracles. You’re going to be an amazing mom💕🌱also, you’re going to look like their hot older sister when they’re teens.

Great job! I love the double rice paper and you are so organized what a great teacher!
What a hit! Total game changer. This recipe is fantastic! and surprising quick and easy. I used the round rice paper because that's what I had in the house, and it worked just great. I was short on parchment paper, but I was able to use the same piece over and over. We had vegan BLTs for breakfast. I'm going to try crumbling some on a vegan cauliflower alfredo tonight.
Did it have the real texture of bacon?
If I don't have parchment paper can I fry or put in an aluminal pan to back
Looks really good. I haven't had a go at making it yet, will try later today. One thought I had being a chef is that you should be able to create an emulsion with the syrup and oil if you use a stick blender, it would create a thicker marinade that wouldn't require constant re-whisking.
your channel was recommended in my sidebar, great to see more vegan content. Love your clear instructions!
Looks great, I will definitely try this.
Sound's really good, thanks for this video!!
Oh my God! This is delicious!! Finally found the liquid smoke and couldn’t wait to make this. I may use the vegetable
Oil next time as the EVOO I used cant withstand the 400 degree temp for the full cooking time without burning edges. But let me tell you this is amazing!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
love your channel, recipes and guests!
Cant wait to try it.. Thank you for the recipe!
OMGosh, my husband is going to love this. We've been Vegan for some time now. But he'll love this. You're amazing. Thank you.
It looks delicious, I will definitely make it!
Fantastic! I Will try!
I just watched a different vegan bacon recipe video that brought me here. I really like your video. You’re very likable and I really want to try this vegan bacon more than others I’ve watched.
I'm definitely trying this. Easiest recipe I've seen so far. Thanks.
This looks fun to do! Thanks for sharing!
Just made this. Great taste. Thanks for the tip about cooking directly on the rack to make it crispy.
This looks amazing! Will definitely be trying this soon!
Wow It amazes me what we can do with different foods. I just watched a video on eggplant bacon too
Shelly Pfluger eggplant bacon is pretty good
@@vickieglore2390 eggplant bacon sucks ass idk what you're on
There's a million better ways to enjoy eggplant lol
looks amazing. better that I've seen. will try
This blew my mind. I was thinking there is no way this is going to look like bacon. But it did crazy.😄
Making now! Amazing!
something new to try. will look on my next shopping trip for square tice paper. very cool cant wait to try it. bacon is pretty salty so I might add a sprinkle of pink salt on top.
I think your version of this recipe is the very best!
This is really amazing!
Very good explanation. Thank you
Done this before, worked great, I topped them with smoked salt, and cooked it on non stick foil, yum
Absolutely BRILLIANT
I they made here with my 6yr old son. We had fun, it was easy & they're super tasty!
Did it have the texture of real bacon?
Great share . I'm going to try this for sure
Hello I’m an SDA vegan cook and UA-camr from London 🇬🇧 and I’ve just discovered your channel - I’m so pleased to see more SDA people on UA-cam 😊
Kirly Sue. may I ask...what does SDA mean? Thanks
Ro Steve hello it means Seventh-Day Adventist
Thanks
Chef Mama Rosa is SDA as well not sure if you are subscribed to her channel
yes me too.
WOW, looks great, I was raised on the Worthington brand (now Morning Star), but after watching your video, I'm going to try yours made with rice paper. You make it looks so tasty!
Thank you cant wait to to try
Thank you for the marinade, I'll have to try that out.
Such a clever idea.
Looks delicious!
I will definitely try this on the weekend.
Great video! Love your channel. Keep up these amazing videos and you will go far! 🙂
It's great, I love the whole presentation. I will try and subscribe God bless you
How did I not know about your channel before?!! Great quality videos! Thank you.
Those, I'm going to try!
My mouth is watering!!! Mmmmmmmm
I just made these and they are so yummy!! I used soya sauce couldn't find amino liquid but when I do get my hands on some I'll give them a try again. I baked them a 400F for 7 min. and they burnt, so I reduced the heat to 375F and baked them for 5 min. The amount of bacon I was able to make with the amount of ingredients was about 30 strips, I cut the strips about 1 inches wide, love this recipe and will make them again!!
You are awesome that look just like bacon thank you for your sharing
Thanks ...... I am going to try that thanks
Omg! Thank you!
Thanks, can't wait to make this bacon
Wow my husband and I have to try it.
Now....this is worth making!
I'm gonna try this soon
It is great
Wow never seen anythink like that before...great video..best wishes.from England
Can’t wait to try this with my favorite Lithuanian recipe - Kugelis (eggs.bacon.onion.potatoes) casserole 🙂
You are amazing!
I've made this twice now. I didn't have parchment paper so the first time I used a paper bag that I cut and the second time I just used tin foil, both times with a spritz of cooking spray. A good pair of kitchen sheers is ideal bc cutting the sheets without is tricky since you likely have to wet them first to use a knife. I tried it without the liquid smoke the first time and then again with the liquid smoke. Since I was using smoked paprika both times, I really didn't notice a difference. Next time I might up the liquid smoke a tiny bit. I added cracked pepper and a bit of salt too since I only had low sodium soy sauce and it just didn't seem salty enough alone. I overcooked it the second time because the recipe I used suggested 9 minutes for crispier bacon. That's too long though. It was still edible but not to my satisfaction. Overall this stuff is great! Super crispy, really looks like bacon, great flavor. Best faken I've tried yet, way better than the store bought ones.
👍🤔Gonna try it 💞
And gonna try your sauce with eggplant “bacon”.
Nice healthy option.
Awesome!
I am a beginner with going vegan and this was really a great sight to see. I think it's easy to make and can't wait to try it!
Lyric's Life In the future lab grown meat will be an option, would you as a vegan eat a cruel free meat? Considering currently there's a lot of mock vegan meat on the market, meaning vegans desire for "meat".
markalejandrox they can't make it cruelty free because they still have to use animal flesh to create it.
Looks tasty. What if you were to make this recipe in big batches and freeze some? How do you think that would work out?
This is genius! I don't like smoked flavors, just the crunch factor really, so I'm going to modify your recipe just a bit for my tastes and use this method to make some. New sub bc of this video, and I'll surely be binging your channel!
your awesome thanks
Ok just subscribed...you kinda have a Vince Vaughn look to ya. Thx for the recipe!
LMAO
I am soooo doing this!
Definitely trying this recipe. Look amazingly like real bacon. Thanks for sharing. I wish I would have been raised eating a plant based diet.
Best surprise, EVER!
I miss seafood the most... But Bacon sounds good too!
That looks just like bacon lol trying it 🥓🌱
Looks great! Can the oil be eliminated from the marinade?
Will try it. Probably tastes better than most cheap bacon anyhow.
Fantastic 🤔
I'm curious to know what brand of rice paper you used? Thanks!
I wish he’d told us the brand of the rice paper sheets! Anyone know what it was??
Looks good where do you buy rice paper and liquid smoke from.Im just starting three weeks ago .
do you think that these could freeze? I know they wouldn't stay crisp (I always prefered chewy bacon anyway) but I'd love to have a store of them for sandwiches when I need them!
Why not just skip the water dip and go straight to the marinade? Wouldn’t it stick together as well?
M. R. Maybe so you dont have to squeeze the paper with marinade on it?
The marinade won't soak in as well.
M. R.
Cause the Marinade is oil based
How long should they be in the oven and at what temperature?
I use pressed drained tofu sliced thin and baked or sauteed..been doing it for almost 20 years ..simular marinade
some uf us dont do soy
That's the brand of liquid smoke that I use. It's amazing!!
*SOY 🆓 BACON!!! 🙆 I had to subscribe! Thank you! 🙋I WILL be making this!!*
rae capital have you considered using coconut flakes? Unsweetened and notnthe small granules works the best.
YES So TIIIIRREEED of everyone using soy, damn
what was the oven Temp. and how long do you cook it???? I'm a new vegan an learning so much.
I do like what I saw and I have subscribed
Nothing better than watching a cute vegan guy cook. Looks good! I have to try this!
Question if I made a couple to saved if I put it in the refrigerator it will keep crispy?
Do I store it in the fridge or at room temperature ?
Omg! That literally looks like bacon! I definitely want to try this. Please, what was the temperature for oven & for how long??
143summer28 he said 7-8 minutes on 400👍🏼
Oven temperature? How long do they bake for?
can this be made ahead and held til ready for it?
could you tell me the name of the package your rice paper is in, please and thank you.
What brand of rice paper are you using?
Can you put the parchment paper on a cookie sheet?
After its done cooking and cooled, can it be frozen?
Is it possible to cook this in a pan
would it be ok to leave out the oil or is the oil in there for technical reasons other than flavor reasons?
what brand of rice paper did you use Awesome recipe !!!
Thanks
Is there any nutritional value in this? It looks good, seems easy enough to make and i can see it almost as a spice in the sense that it turns a lettuce and tomato sandwich into a BLT. But am I correct that it is empty calories?
