Great guide! I also use contracts to make it easy. I did a C2 contract with the Vulture the other night, after scraping 24scu and taking the 6scu of gold and 2scu of Quantanium out of it, I made 400k minus the 50k contract price. Great shot of the Vulture flying into the New Babbage Interstellar Spaceport!
I found your channel when I was thinking about buying a Cutlass Black, and I'm so glad I did. You have such a good speaking voice and can make anything sound entertaining! Thanks for the hard work in putting these videos together. The way you always have broken into chapters makes it easy to follow and find exactly what you're looking for.
I've been in Stanton for about 2 years now, I started with your guides and I'll end with your guides. o7 fatastic job, time to learn a new career in salvage
Of course I waited until the last minute to get in on salvage, but now I'm hooked. There's a not zero chance I'm going to melt down my prospector after the few hours I got in this morning. I figured out most of it on my own, but this filled a few gaps for me, and as always, it's appreciated. Keep 'em coming, dude.
Thanks. Pledged a vulture to help recover from 3.23 auec wipe. Haven't done much salvage before, only tried it out a little during IAE. It will be nice doing something besides bounty hunting and mining like I usually do.
Perfect timing Farrister!! Just what I needed!!! A How To vid on salvaging, as I am thinking of buying a Drake Vulture. And who else can explain this better that You!!! Thank You for yet again enlightning us with another brilliant vid! Cheers and have a good Weekend
I greatly enjoy salvage gameplay. Until the change in ship prices happens, I'm glad that the Vulture is very accessible to players in order to try it out. Thank you for this fantastic guide, Farrister!
@@Farrister Thanks for these videos. Got the game with my gfx card in 2014 but haven't been able to play until recently because of a CPU upgrade. Been a long wait :P
I solo the reclaimer. Not as annoying as soloing the mole for mining AND make around 1.8m just for one $50k contract. Takes about 1 and a half to 2 hours conservatively Definitely very profitable Having more than one person basically halves the time
I bought this game 3 days ago. Even tho it is in alpha, it is still a fun game. I love it. The sound design is weaker compared to ED but they will improve it maybe. I really wanna go for salvaging in this game. I think it would be very fun to play that way. Well, we'll see what the future brings. o7
First video I seen someone talking about fracture mode didn't even know existed until now the only problem was you only said how to activate not deactivate so I thought it was broken until someone else told me alt s to switch back to salvage mode
You mentioned salvaging panels, but didn’t describe it. I haven’t been able find panels for many months. I’ll see their signature in a scan, in the halo or near stations, but when I get close, there’s nothing there. Sometimes I’ll even see the cluster of faint icons but they disappear. I can’t tell if the panels are missing or merely invisible. A few collision warnings make me think maybe invisible.
Weird thing is, the panels are actually still there, but they only pop into view when you're literal metres away from them. The way I find them is by carefully getting close enough that the star-shaped white blips appear, stopping and pointing directly at one near the centre of the cluster, and then flying forward no faster than 30m/s until they appear right in front of the ship. It's a bit of a crude workaround, but hopefully the bug will be fixed at some point in the near future. (Flying to the pieces takes a long time because 30m/s is a really slow speed, but it stops you from smashing into the pieces and blowing up. Speaking from personal experience.)
There is a power slider on the left of the vulture during scrapping GSAF? What does it do? I have to admit I watched the entire video just to understand what this is 🤣
I've been collecting scrap the old fashioned way from the floating pieces of metal in asteroid fields. However they don't load on until I slowly bump into them. Not sure if anyone else has this issue.
i always wondered what nerds actually sit down and enjoy scraping hulls... most boring activity out of them all... swapping out to 2 fracture heads is the only way i would ever use a vulture aggain. scraping is boring AF
why do you all only cover salvage missions and say it is the complete guide? you forget there is salvage scanning to find random salvage which also hits on exploration as well? this is not a complete guide a good starter guide but again not complete!!
emptying hoppers is extremely easy, you go to the control panel, hold f to interact- then on the bottom half choose which material to box, then set the size to 16scu for the biggest- u can fit more cargo than there is spaces just be careful u can possibly lose whatever isn't locked in
even if I am old player I love watching your guides to new players making our community great o7 legend
What does o7 mean? Seen it in chat in game before. Couldn’t figure it out lol

When i was a lad there was no salvage nonsense harrumph. Thanks for getting an old hand up to speed. Clean efficient and fluff free
I pass this video to new beginners as an excellent and up-to-date guide from a calm and reasoned point of view.
i found 3 acceptable vids on this process. you did the best explanations. the other 2 left out a couple very important details. thanks :)
Glad it helped!
Oh heck yeah, I've been ccuing towards a vulture and this video came at a perfect time.
Informative and relaxing as usually. I truly appreciate your videos. Thank you for making them!
Great content. As someone coming back after a long break from SC, these types of videos are really helpful ! Cheers mate

Welcome back!
Just found out i get to try the Vulture this month and your video was extremely helpful
Ooh, hope you enjoy! One of my favourite ships to fly

The Vulture looks awesome, reminds me of the Venture from EvE. I'll start saving once 3.23 hits :D

Any way to avoid towing ships while trying to detach guns?
great content you have here. informative and concise. pleasant sounding voice.
I love the salvage play. I do about 2 hours of it just to realx.
It's pretty relaxing
Nice video, when do you get the mission money? braking the hull or you need to gater all the materials?
I ve tried to fracture a larger ship but it had red border and couldn’t break it…do you know why?

Definitely very profitable

Looks like profitability going to reduce for CMs in 3.23 though!
@@Farrister ah crap lol
I love salvaging. It’s a satisfying game loop that happens to make a lot of cash…just put on some Cowboy Bebop ost and start scraping
I have to admit it. I enjoyed salvage so much I upgraded my Connie Aquila to a Reclaimer. I find the tactility oddly satisfying.
Excellent guide 👍 Thank you!
Phenomenal video, well said, and well explained.
Great guide that gave me all the information i needed. Just on oint as it should be! o7

Worth keeping an eye out for a free fly event
This is really cool!
Do you need to finsih the contract in order to sell your salavge?`
No, you can sell whenever
First video I seen someone talking about fracture mode didn't even know existed until now the only problem was you only said how to activate not deactivate so I thought it was broken until someone else told me alt s to switch back to salvage mode
Oh wow, it's a key part of salvage!
Thank you!

My ship won't unlock to change the weapons I salvaged

Would of been good to give a time frame and how much they can make each for this current patch. Good video overall though, like all your stuff.
All ships can be used solo, but unless these are for a solo crew member, it's more difficult and in the future will be simply impractical.
I've been collecting scrap the old fashioned way from the floating pieces of metal in asteroid fields. However they don't load on until I slowly bump into them. Not sure if anyone else has this issue.
I genuinely thought that the game was bugging out at 6:07 due to this being star citizen XD
Have they now fixed the hand tractor beams grabbing the ship instead of cargo in the latest patch? That's well annoying!!
This is a bit slow but it's safer than goung to Rapple or anywhere else to transport RMC only to get snipped and loose $7mil aUEC and a C2
Slow and safe sounds fine to me!
You didnt cover selling the material, unless i missed it.
I'mma have to switch to savage.
Since they absolutely destroyed my quantanium mining.😭
:( salvage pretty good right now
@@Farrister just upgraded to vulture about to watch this video again and go in.
