Edit: after the changes to QT drives in 3.24.3 the Atlas isn’t really necessary since for now all S1 drives have nearly identical stats - save the cash!
I would honestly go for Stealth components on this one - now that stealth is pretty functional, especially stealth Quantum Drives since it lowers your signature significantly while in nav mode as well (50k EM to 20kish just swapping the drive alone). Stealth power plants will help here as well tremendously. Helps shrug off some would-be pirates looking for an easy score. It's all still enough power to keep everything running without issue. Coolers are also a good option here and will reduce IR by a fair amount. As an aside, Quantum Drives still have stats that can be important and are not identical. Cooldown timers are still lower with better components, as well as signature values, even for S1 drives. Speeds and fuel usage are the same across the board though but there's still things that will give you just a bit more of an edge. Personal recommendation: 2x Snowblind Coolers, 2x Slipstream Power Plants, Spectre Quantum Drive, 3x Mirage Shields (or Jaghte competition, for higher shield values at the cost of slightly higher EM) will drop your signatures to roughly 2.7k IR and 5800ish EM (4.5k with life support and weapons turned off). Leaving the highest detection range of the Vulture at 12k from cross-section alone if it is viewed from the top. All other stats are sub-12k signature. While Mirage shields will offer less shielding, the whole point is to not get caught in the first place. You're not going to dogfight in this thing, so if you're caught your #1 priority is to bug out and be aware of your radar at all times since you'll be more likely to see them before they can target you. Competition grade shields offsets this (by having the highest shield value at the cost of low component health value) and will add slightly higher EM signature.
I did a stealth build on my Vuture... @Venthus makes a good point. Yet, cause I'm not in Nav mode while scraping. QT drive is off, so no signature from Drive !!! So, I get detection range under 5k! so, If you keep one eye on radar. You should see most anything coming a mile a way! (except other stealth ships.)

Stock, the Vulture has 17k IR, 39k EM and 3.3k/6k/12.5k CS ratings (front/side/top). If you really want to be efficient you can just load the vulture up, take it to the nearest legrange point (which is going to be really close) and offload all your RMC into the freight elevator and send it down to store it. Then head back out for another run. At the end of the day or several days you can spawn in a cargo ship to the legrange and haul all the RMC from all the runs in one trip. This seems minor but if you actually use a stop watch like I do, it takes almost as long to do a trip to a planet and get to the TDD and get back and then get back the legrange point as another run in the vulture. So this basically doubles your output. Just wait until you have 100-200 depending on your ship and sell it all at once as one trip. Of course there is increased risk of piracy since you might have 200 scu of RCM. But I’d rather take my chances in one trip of a starlancer max to defend my 200 RMC than 10 trips of a vulture with 25 RMC.
Dude you literally saved me ... I lost most of my cash due to a bug. Didn't know what to do. I had the vulture from previously and with its stock config in just an hour and a half I made ~500K!
For 3.24 around MT there’s always abandoned UEE advocacy Polaris sitting around, especially moon OMs. you can get ~ 26 scu of RMC before a random mantis and HH show up and try to kill you. I just head back to Long Forest, unload and by then they’ve despawned. Rinse and repeat. I fly to Orison to sell since NB is usually broken so that does add a bit more time but 🤷🏻♂️
I wish we could get away from the panel meta. I didn't get a salvage ship to scrape panels, I want to salvage spaceships; it's frustrating how they've just made the salvage missions continually worse since they were implemented. They weren't maximally profitable, but you could do alright on them, but the cost->return ratios feel pretty shit these days, and it's kind of a bummer. Grade guide though, just hope one day it'll be the meta to salvage real ships.
One thing i’m going is i go to the nearest space station offload and do my best to store enough to fill up my caterpillar then when its full i take it to the planet. That way i save the long trip, yes it takes time to off load twice but the time to get in to the planet and all that i hate it i feel it slows me down.
You can fit 2 full bins in the vulture with a bit of work by opening the back door and loading it all in that way then fill the 3rd bin. Go sell at orison because that pays the most. I get 505k a run.
Thanks you for the video, however, i didnt understand how you avoid interdiction (i dont know how a mantis work) and you just change direction or something ?
crazy, exactly what I do but I have a different fishing spot. cool video. I do this for money and if I want easy combat I do box run recovery and snipe away. That way I can feed my loot monster. See you in the black! Oh and it helps if you put on some 60's or 70's rock music and grab a beer while you scrape! Cheers!
For some reason I have not been able to salvage since the 3.24.2 patch. I cannot get my Vulture to stay stationary to salvage panels. It is in a constant down strafe and moving at 12m/s. If I getup from the pilot seat it will Stop, but soon as I get back into the pilot seat and try to maneuver into position - the ship becomes uncontrollable again.
Missed a spot for two additional boxes directly in front of the door, and if you really want to minmax, you can hold one box over the printer output to print an additional box. Other than that, good guide! :)
It's Aril Quiksilver - I believe you can get lucky and find it in loot boxes, but getting a full set together would be a lot of RNG (I paid $15 for it on the pledge store). Edit: there are two other versions - Hazard (Yellow) can be bought from any Cargo Deck at the LEO's or Jumpgate stations and a Blue version can be bought from one of the shops at Orison.
IO have a bug there it always show that 0.99 SCU still inside hopper. I even was crafting stuff to emty it but it always come back to it when I scraping
I work every day with students that have experienced various types of trauma. I hope for and will gladly take a quiet and what others consider boring night of salvage. I use the halo also but in a reclaimer. So I don't have to make as many trips back.
With the new salvage ship drops, I may very well upgrade to it, depending on it's overall size and ability to solo. The Vulture has served me well but I won't say no to more space.
The Cinch modules are fine if your not trying to maximise AUE/hr. They favor efficiency over time and will give you more salvage if all you are doing is a single run. Quantum drives need looked at as they are/will moving all speeds to be the same prior to a major balance. Check the stats before you buy. I also keep the tractor beam on as it is very usefull for holding any panels that might have gotten bumped or stopping small moving ships. You can even use it to turn a panel/ship so you do not have to move the Vulture in case you have a hauler offloading your salvage.
TIP !!! Time 9:15 - In 3.24.1 I discovered that Panels tend to "POP" in better while in 3rd person view! But yes, still go slow. I have not tried it in .2/.3 patch due to being Stuck in LZ! I only got out the other day. So, I have not had a chance to test it in the new .3 patch, but if their still not showing up late in 1st person? 🤔
Thanks for the video chief. I do have a question about the salvaging lasers though. We used to be able to move them closer together or spread them apart. Can we still do that? I can put them into gimbaled or non gimbaled but i cant spread them or bring them together anymore.
I’ve been saving up 26scu per run then storing it in a refinery outpost then loading up my cl with 120scu I like to leave some room to walk around. Then sell and make it rain credits.
It took me longer than an hour when I did it Sunday but I don't know if I had the right modules installed still. They probably got unequipped in one of the patches so I'm assuming it was just the default crappy ones. I don't know for sure.
Part of the reason I wanted to split the guide up rather than doing both in one is they’re very different beasts - I love that the claimer is a solid multi-crew ship while the vulture is the solo option.
If you haven’t recorded the video yet can you check if the scanner on the reclaimer now works better than the previous patch? I’ve noticed that with the reclaimer the “bubbles” spawn a lot less than with the vulture
Yeah, they changed the amount drastically - I regularly gathered 10+ scu from the large ones but now it's more like 4scu at best - still more profitable than the missions, but i will try missions again this weekend
They nerfed it recently in one of the dot patches. You get just less than half now. It's such a shame as I just started salvaging. So this probably used to be 1 million per hour. :(
Have to try mining in my Mole and see how that works with the refining and what not, not played since like 3.21 I do like the vulture since it looks like the Venture in EVE Online :)
@loudguns was this on the latest patch? I can't get the tdd terminals to find the RMC! How did you do this? I followed this exactly in the 3.24.2 patch and it didn't work :(
i made 419auec in one trip doing this, same locations and everything, it took me three hours but ill chalk that up to being a first timer, still, 140k an hour is pretty good.
@@chrictonj9503 my best recommendation is to join a community or org that lets you get involved with other people. I’m always happy for crew on my mole or reclaimer for instance and pay everyone an equal share. That way it’s actually pretty quick putting a few mil together
Doing pretty much exactly what you showed, sans some of the more paranoid parts - except that one run invariably takes 2-3 hours for me for that 500K, NOT ONE. Panels take their sweet ass time to get found on scans, and filling that 13SCU three times takes A LOT of looking for panels.
Q1: definitely got those abrades right? Other than that it's really down to practice - the speed at which you scan and get on the panels is everything in terms of the aUEC / hr rate. Edit: one thing I didn't mention but I sometimes do comes from my ROC mining days - I actually ignore returns of less than 8000. Taking the time going back and forth to 2 or 3 panels (one of which might well be one of the awful 0.8SCU ones) kills credits per hour.
@@LoudGuns Yup, double Abrades. Just slow to find panels and yes lots of them are 8K or under, with rather poor return - maybe that's what I'm doing wrong, not ignoring those...
@ excellent video overall though, looking forward to the reclaimer version of the guide as as that is what I run. For that ship, I’ll be really interested if you swap out the trawlers for the abrades? And for me, the nice thing about the reclaimer is that you can just bed log out. Your aim is to get around 200SCU, over multiple sessions via bed logging. It normally beats the Vulture per hour when you run it this way for me, as you save a lot of the back and forth
@@gp8231 thanks mate. abrades are generally just statistically the better choice. I do use trawlers for cover up missions where the goal is to avoid missing spots but for creds per hour it’s hard to choose anything but abrades

Great guide!, i'll give it a try tommorow! thanks man!
@@BerryBlueEyes nice one berry, let me know how you go!
Awesome video, gonna get into salvaging after this!
Fantastic paint for the Vulture. Your choice is mine, too!
Love the video, but was wondering if it was possible to use the vulture on abandoned ships at outposts??
Excellent guide mate. Thx.
Great video and tips. Curious, what armor are you wearing? Thanks for the share.
Good video :) used it for fitting my vulture today :)
Very nice guide!
Hopefully with all the components getting a pass that will change over time
Can we still savage ships at bunkers?
Great vid, going to get hold of a vulture again.
LEGEND! Thank you so much
One thing i’m going is i go to the nearest space station offload and do my best to store enough to fill up my caterpillar then when its full i take it to the planet. That way i save the long trip, yes it takes time to off load twice but the time to get in to the planet and all that i hate it i feel it slows me down.
This is absolutely going to change long term but it's great right now
Such is the life of a guide maker!
You can fit 2 full bins in the vulture with a bit of work by opening the back door and loading it all in that way then fill the 3rd bin. Go sell at orison because that pays the most. I get 505k a run.
Great guide, about to do it now :)
As a side note, *do* definitely sap to scm mode while actually scraping... you are a *lot* less viisible when the QT drive is off. By many KM.
Missed a spot for two additional boxes directly in front of the door, and if you really want to minmax, you can hold one box over the printer output to print an additional box. Other than that, good guide! :)
the "abrade module" make more fast the extraction but lost material recyclated?
Where did you get that armor?
It's Aril Quiksilver - I believe you can get lucky and find it in loot boxes, but getting a full set together would be a lot of RNG (I paid $15 for it on the pledge store).
Edit: there are two other versions - Hazard (Yellow) can be bought from any Cargo Deck at the LEO's or Jumpgate stations and a Blue version can be bought from one of the shops at Orison.

Thx LG! Love your work!
Question, when doing the more advanced salvage missions, can we still come across ships filled with drugs or profitable ores to loot?
IO have a bug there it always show that 0.99 SCU still inside hopper. I even was crafting stuff to emty it but it always come back to it when I scraping
Awesome dude! 🎉
I work every day with students that have experienced various types of trauma. I hope for and will gladly take a quiet and what others consider boring night of salvage. I use the halo also but in a reclaimer. So I don't have to make as many trips back.
why are the material i scrap always "empty" before the mass on the panel is actually sucked up like in your gameplay? i miss "cleaning it up" so much
i've found the solution, it is the vulkan rendering that causes this bug at the moment. going back to dx11 fixed it ^^
Could you add in the about section where to get said modules for the vulture?
That’s updated mate - thanks for the reminder, meant to do that before pushing it live. 👍
I am a filthy min maxer at heart - it’s a curse 😂
Gj! Thx for video!
Im a solo reclaimer operator do you have a reclaimer video for mods to install on reclaimer? Would appreciate it loud guns
Gonna use this guide to snipe people in my Eclipse :)
+ points for intro
where on the map are you?
i cant find the helo, the last time i played the game the helo was showing on the map but now i can't find it anywhere.
Thanks for the video chief. I do have a question about the salvaging lasers though. We used to be able to move them closer together or spread them apart. Can we still do that? I can put them into gimbaled or non gimbaled but i cant spread them or bring them together anymore.
Scroll the mouse wheel while in salvaging mode
The update to the ship tracktorbeams is a lot easier to rotate the panels now
Why don’t people use fracture mode anymore? What’s the difference in time and price?
my head keeps turning instead of my mining gimbals when i move the mouse (I have pressed G to unlock the gimbals). Does anyone know how to stop this?
Probably your freelook is locked on - Z is the default for resetting it. Double check that you haven't remapped freelook to G by mistake as well.
Having also a Reclaimer I always end using the Vulture (as solo) due to overall speed and the very annoying scrapers position of the Reclaimer
OK, so what exactly am I looking for when scanning? For 24000 value? Should I check all around or just markers which appears after Tab?
@@OnlineObsessionista multiples of 2,000 mate. Let out a ping then crosshairs over each return until you find one that divides by 2K
@LoudGuns oh you mean 8000 is also good. Got you. Thanks for explaining
Did you forget to mention that shooting the completed panel with a laser will make it disappear from your scanner, Or did they change that?
I didn’t forget…because I didn’t know that was a thing 😂Thanks for the tip, will give it a go next time I’m out 👍
@LoudGuns now I'm just hoping it still works 😂
Did you just say rental at 12:08 ?
Where is this ship rentable?
13:42 I am pretty sure that large ones contained about 8-9 SCU, when I last played 2 months ago, did anything change?
Yeah, they changed the amount drastically - I regularly gathered 10+ scu from the large ones but now it's more like 4scu at best - still more profitable than the missions, but i will try missions again this weekend
They nerfed it recently in one of the dot patches. You get just less than half now. It's such a shame as I just started salvaging. So this probably used to be 1 million per hour. :(
Orison does not take 1 SCU boxes as of Nov 5th.
Have to try mining in my Mole and see how that works with the refining and what not, not played since like 3.21
I do like the vulture since it looks like the Venture in EVE Online :)
What about the old reclaimer munch only mission running?
@@BoTalksStarCitizen it got nerfed
Reclaimer guide will be a separate vid, they’re very different beasts imo
@ looking forward to it
Good vid! lol, ALT+A or S or D do the same as ALT+ 1 or 2 or 3
great video.
I have not seen any salvage contracts on my mobi. Am I missing something?
@@Scott-ze5yr I think there’s a bug, my main account has the same issue - logged in on an alt and had the legal contracts no issue
@@LoudGuns Thanks for the info
@loudguns was this on the latest patch? I can't get the tdd terminals to find the RMC! How did you do this? I followed this exactly in the 3.24.2 patch and it didn't work :(
i made 419auec in one trip doing this, same locations and everything, it took me three hours but ill chalk that up to being a first timer, still, 140k an hour is pretty good.
Great guide! I just find scraping so dull!
Great guide! Of course that ~3 million may take awhile with my Alpha. 😅
Just slow to find panels and yes lots of them are 8K or under, with rather poor return - maybe that's what I'm doing wrong, not ignoring those...
dont forget, 4.0 will be a full wipe, just have fun guys
Is “materials” that hard to say ?
@@garygrieves6752 I’m a min maxer at heart buddy - and sorry but “mats” is just in the lexicon of every mmorpg
Telling players to upgrade the quantum drive is bad advice now, they are all the same for speed and efficiency. New players should save the cash
They differ in power usage/cooling requirements, component health, and cooldown time. But otherwise, you're right.
@@gp8231 absolutely fair - tbh I missed that change.
Military modules make you visible far beyond what you can detect.
Better to go stealth. You aren't there to fight or be seen.
Hah good luck getting the thing out of your hangar.
honestly i would not do the QT hop, its very easy for a new player to hop out of the halo with the QT
so you really should maybe drive around
I tend to try and include the more advanced tips and tricks in these guides. I do a beginners guide for folks learning the ropes, these are meant to be about “getting gud” 😂
man i followed this guide to a T and I only get 330k per run :/ they mustve changed the rates

500k/h is bs. i can say it right away without looking this. i find c2 and start timer 2h5min later i have scrape and load it in to my Taurus (next to c2 before timer start) and i was ready 70scu rcm and make 940k and if you add find time and sell time. it's no way near 500k/h 300k maybe.edit:and was little unclear but i didn't count sell time to my 2h=940k earning.and find time just to be clear

Trying to defend yourself in any non combat ship is a lost cause in the current game. Its better to just self destruct and see if you can destroy some of the cargo assuming your attackers are part of the 0.01% of pvp players that actually care about making money off of you
