21-Year-Old Pilot Meets Hero Who Helped With Plane Landing

- Twenty-one-year-old student pilot Taylor Hash met veteran pilot Chris Yates for the first time after he talked her through landing a plane. After taking off from a Michigan airport, Hash was about to land her plane when the nose gear fell off. Yates saw the nose gear fall and knew he had to help the pilot. That's when air-traffic control let Yates guide Hash through her emergency landing. Inside Edition's Jim Moret was there as the young pilot and hero reunited.

No.
He hugged her like she was his daughter, how beautiful.
He had it together when talking her down. He lost it when he met her on the ground.
Just glad that she is safe and unharmed from this scary moment and pretty sure Captain Sully would be very happy with this outcome too
I flew through some imc weather and was stuck for seem like more than 10 minutes before when I was a student pilot, its always reassuring once you make it back to the ground, congrats to Taylor for staying claim and sticking to her training.
At least she is safe😮
Retired ATC here. Great job to both of you !!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I can see his compassion.
With a mentor like him and her confidence. She will be a pilot. Go get'em sweetheart.
Such a adorable mentor/student relationship.Glad she maid it down safe!
Goddamnit that hug hit me so hard
I knew they'd be friends!
Pretty sure after that he now has 2 daughters named Taylor
This is a wonderful story. If she can do that, she will make a great pilot someday!
He was so good with her. Definitely didnt think he was old enough to be her dad until his own daughter popped up 😅
Such a gentleman
I didn’t know you could be a pilot at that young of an age.
Really? There's kids starting at 13
@@batalorian7997 I started at 14
@@SpottinPlanesForLife i wish I could fly but it's crazy expensive
@@batalorian7997 some schools teach it for free

Isn't it funny that they got a chance to fly and land another plane without a nose gear together 😂 well done!
This actually made some tears come out of my eyes😂😂What a story......and WELL DONE, Taylor & Chris. Well done.
HE HUGGED HER SHE WAS HIS
DAUGHTER HOW BEAUTIFUL
Now imagine if Taylor were to ever meet Maggie Taraska! Both have lost a wheel on takeoff, when very new to solo flying.
I love this moment 🤩... Thank you very much for this moment!
That's so sweet! I could never
My dad was a sub bomber for the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and he always wanted me to learn to fly. He passed in 2017, but Im kind of considering to learn
Do it man! Do it for your old man! Do it for your old man
All it takes is signing up for 1 lesson :) do it, you will never look back
She is going to remember this meeting for some period. A pilot like chris is the kind of pilot each of us needs to talk using a calm voice. The best to taylor on her goal.
Wow, I’m in awe of her seemingly calm manner through out the ordeal. She is a wonderful pilot will do well in her career , just fly the plane , that’s what she did !
Flying in a Cessna 180/182 after that 2 seater Diamond is like upgrading to Cadillac after driving a Corolla.
.
What a beautiful moment ❤❤❤
That's a guardian angel
Love seeing this it is an amazing story.
There's a shortage of pilots now that the airlines pushed pilots to take early retirement during the worst of Covid, even though the companies got lots of $ to prevent layoffs. It's great this young woman plans to be a professional. It's so expensive to learn to fly well and takes a lot of time to get enough substantial experience, so if she wants help paying for her training so she can be a professional pilot, I have no problem with people who have money helping her and other pilots in training.
😭👏
Wow
I’m in love with two Taylor gorgeous
That’s cool ngl
I have a question for other pilots. Shouldn't her instructor have at least been at the airport? It says her helper was just another pilot getting ready to take off when he saw the wheel come off. I've seen another video of a very similar situation, and the instructor was there, and he was the one who helped talk them down
Maybe she’s more advanced, maybe there’s leveling?
larger flight schools have multiple instructors, and all instructors have days off for a variety of reasons. A different instructor met with her before the flight; but may have decided to stay quite once they were notified and they heard that Chris was working with her so well over the radio. Too many cooks can spoil more than the meal.

Roberta. Anthony. Hello
That ain’t no picture perfect landing. That’s a bounce
The ‘bounce’ is from what is left of the nose gear catching on the concrete.
@@10RRASK I was talking about the landing both of them did at the end.
@@stuffedstuffy9267 oh yeah duh 😂 was a little bouncy
That bounce saved their lives, right?
First landing in a tail dragger, I say it was pretty good. Maybe you did "perfect" on your first.

Now they need to go see a Taylor Swift concert
In a Taylorcraft airplane, even.
Gofundme is usually the best way to hurt your career as a pilot.
why would that matter?
What do you mean by that?
Why is this awkward
Probably because he kept infantilizing her.
Sorry but why does she need the public to help with her dream? We all have dreams we want help with lol. Nice story. But please stop flying these small planes; they’re death traps.
Every single pilot starts on a single-engine plane like that. Every single one.
@@sorenanthony7133 What about married pilots?

It was all emotional and wholesome until the end when they mentioned the go fund me..💀 Helping the rich get richer so they can play with even expensive toys.
Who said that she was rich?
@@10RRASK right? I have a friend whose parents struggled to pay for his flying school. They made it somehow each month but just barely. Now he's a full fledged pilot working for a big airline.
@@ealexgu Yeah people think it’s expensive to learn to fly, but will go $80k in student loan debt for underwater basket weaving and not bat an eye.
@@10RRASKright??? Mofos be getting degrees that’ll max out at 40k a year and spend 400k to get it.. because oddly enough being a director or movie writer doesn’t pay unless u meet someone big or blow tf up
