    Is it on your list? :)

    You mentioned the infinity mark not being accurate as an 'issue' but Meike provides a shim kit and instructions to adjust for this since each lens is unique. Having said this, as an owner of these lenses, I would very much be interested in seeing a video showing the process of tuning these lenses with the infinity mark using the shim kit. I have yet to do this adjustment myself mainly because the instructions aren't that intuitive and I'm also not sure exactly what the best distance to subject would be for identifying the proper infinity focus point per the mark on the camera. Meike doesn't appear to have a single video on this as well. Maybe if you made a video showing this, Meike would use yours as 'the tutorial' for this on their website. Thanks for the informative video.

      That's why I said 'out of the box' :). I will have a look at the shim kit asap.

    Great review Flo. I’d love one of these lenses for my BMPCC 6K and it looks to me like the 25mm would be my preference too, so I’m really pleased you talked about this particular one at length. The build and image quality seem excellent for this price point and it’s great that the whole range seem very close in over all length and share the same filter size. I love the image you achieved in the outdoor shots but preferred that of the Sigma when indoors. Perhaps that greenish cast disagrees with artificial lighting? Nonetheless, I’d get one of these in a heartbeat if I could cough up the cash. Thanks for the hard work you put into your reviews Flo, they’re always really informative, contain a good range of image samples and are always nice and concise.
    Keep it up! 😁👍

      Thank you man, I really appreciate the nice feedback !!
      It's definitely an amazing lens for the price and features/quality you get :).
      Regarding the green cast I am not too sure as the settings were exactly the same as the sigma so I think it is just the lens. Also the sigma is quite clinical which makes the difference even more obvious probably.

  • @JulianIsAnthony
    @JulianIsAnthony 2 роки тому +1

    Do you still have your 28mm Contax Zeiss lens? If so, when do you use one or the other and starting over, would you build a prime kit with the vintage glass or the meike primes?

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I do :) It is quite a hard question to answer as it depends on end use, timeframe and budget. As a cinema lens kit the Meikes make more sense, since the Zeiss need to be modded, and also found (which can take a while and also can be quite expensive). As a character lens the Contax Zeiss are probably the winners.

  • @rafael_daguerre
    @rafael_daguerre Рік тому

    Excellent review. I recently purchased the Fuji X-H2S and have been researching many budget cinema lenses that I can afford. I'm in doubt between this kit from 7Artisans Vision (12, 25, 35 and 50mm) and the kit from Meike S35 Prime (18, 25, 50 and 75). The Meike kit is a little more expensive, but seems to be better for focus breathing. And maybe in terms of sharpness, I don't know. The downside to the Meike is that I will have to use an adapter (I have the Fringer-EF-FX Pro III).
    Have you ever made this comparison or used 7Artisans Vision?
    I saw a lot of very interesting reviews of the 7Artisans Vision, especially the 12mm and 25mm lenses.

    Just curious for the need to use the NISI vari ND when the 6k pro has built in ND's. Is it to get more micro adjustments in the ND over the 'hard stops' in the 6k pro built ins?

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  2 роки тому +3

      For a few reasons, and yes one of them being able to be more accurate. Since it is a T2.1 I want to shoot wide open as much as possible so being able to dial in the right amount is important. The other reasons are that I always prefer to test cinema lenses with high quality filters. And also since I tested the other two Meikes with the regular 6K and the NISI VND I wanted to do the same with this one :)

    Oof I almost thought this would be my one and only lens combination for the original bmpcc. I have tried the meike cine primes for m43 and love them, but the idea of having a t2.1 on the .058x speedbooster is bonkers. That would turn the camera into a t.0.9 cine lens in my fav focal length, while solving the low light problems. But I already found the m43 versions on the heavy side (500gr). This lens + speedbooster is >1kg combined and I have trouble seeing myself carry that on a trip.

    Salut
    Great review, and fantastic shooting
    I own the Meike 16mm MFT T2.2 and I realized as well the color is more warm and yellowish green but very slightly in comparaison to my other lens and the 12-35 2.8 Pana...actually I purchase appart of the Meike the trio spedmaster Zhongghie T1 17,25,35 so for someone shooting MFT I will recomand it over Meike if you look for more cinematic but the marking is in feet and hard to find.
    The BMPCC4K image with spedmaster is really great for MFT and T1 of course is top as well as avery controlled Focus breathing.
    Merci pour Les conseils...j'ai acheté le package entier de Filmconvert et Cinematch il était en promo après ta vidéo.
    En faite j'ai sauté le GH6 après tout ou malgré tout , et je suis passé au S5 avec Blackmagic vidéo assist...pour finir avec 5.9 K Braw et Full Frame et surtout superbe stabilisation interne.
    En faite c'est pas beaucoup plus grand que le BMPCC6K Pro vu que le S5 est assez petit pour un boîtier FF...small rig pour la cage...pour ce que tu fais probablement toujours trop gros...
    Bref c'était en promos avec kit lens 20-60
    et moins cher que le GH6 neuf...2100 CHF en tout pour S5 et Blavkmagic Vidéo Assist...
    Je sais que les Meike ciné Full Frame sont top...je vais essayer dans essayer un EF ou PL et l'adapter...pour essayer...
    Mais c'est vraiment au dessus de mes moyens 😂😂😂😂et surtout overkill pour ce que je fais...MFT ciné sont emplement suffisant...et je vais probablement prendre quand même le GH6 quand un de mes boitiers GH4,5 va rendre l'âme...
    A bientôt
