Zeezee is a smart Mom to understand that if she willingly "offers" Pattie a chance to babysit, and shows that she trusts her then it's much less likely that Pattie or one of the other females (Tina) will try to steal little Stevie and have a chance of her being hurt. Now that Pattie has had an opportunity the others should be nice and hopefully patiently wait for Zeezee to allow them a/an turn/opportunity to babysit. SMART MOMMA!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thats not true. Pattie is more likely to take it now that she's bonded with it, which is exactly why females do not let other females hold their babies.
I bet Zee Zee sensed that Pattie maybe wanted a baby and showed her how to hold one and love one like her own. It probably was a trial run to see if Pattie could be a good babysitter.

I don’t know, but isn’t it time modern zoos starts ‘listening’ to their animals a little bit more? It sounds as though Pattie is a high ranking female, somewhat higher than Zee-Zee but then Zee-Zee ends up with a bundle of joy, which inadvertently threatened Pattie’s position, and luckily for that zoo’s mishandling of this perilous situation, Zee-Zee knows the chimp society’s politics much better and had to do the right thing, at the same time putting her newborn in danger to defuse the dynamics. The zoo did wrong, and before allowing Zee-Zee to breed, they should’ve given the high-ranking females the occasion to breed as well. At this zoo, they implemented a new rule where if a baby chimpanzee or orangutan is touched by any other animal than the mother in the first 8 years, the baby must be surrendered immediately, fed to the hyenas and to be shown publicly on UA-cam. it’s mostly used for advertisement to help the zoo, but it’s still very important that it gets done in a timely fashion.
.............Adult female chimps dont spend their entire adulthood with a child to look after. No mammals do. Do you walk around assuming all human women without children are incapable of having any?
@@MrJameslupien In the wild they would most likely already have a baby. The zoos raise and sell animals whether you believe it or not. If the zoo is on a certain zoo registry, they have to follow rules on who to allow to breed and when. It's complicated and she may have been sterilized anyway if her bloodline is numerous out there in the zoo registry. Sounds like you're taking it personally. You shouldn't.
@@TedH71 They arent forced to breed in captivity. They're encouraged to but are not physically forced to. If you knew a damn thing about Chimps you would know that their complex social structure doesnt allow for every female to have full accesss to mates. @@MrJameslupien Ted was not promoting a conspiracy theory. It is not a secret that the zoos, around the world, trade and sell animals and they do arrange for who can mate with who. It’s amazing how the chimps are intelligent enough to know that trying to calmly diffuse the situation is the best way to keep the baby safe rather than use physical force to take her back.
So there was no kidnapping the baby was entrusted and given away by the mother as she guarded and supervised the unrelated female zeke. In 40 years they have never seen it done in an captured environment. Let them animals live in their own habitat and do what they do you can’t understand and explain it all.

Poor baby, oh my goodness, its so hard to watch this.
Interesting 🤔
Only half way through and I had to pause it, this is way too stressful...... whew alls good. Would have liked to see the return to the mother.
So how did they get the chimps to the zoo? What do they do if one needs surgery or other health care?
So the baby was not stolen.
How come Pattie hasn't had her own baby? Is she unable to have any?
.............Adult female chimps dont spend their entire adulthood with a child to look after.
Mating rights are chosen by the dominant male of the troop. Low ranking females are at the very bottom of the totem with very little say in mate selection. Thats why. Now take your chimp black market conspiracy theories somewhere else.
@@MrJameslupien I have been watching the various videos and yes you're correct but I've also seen about other alphas killing the beta mom's baby and things like that.
@@MrJameslupien Ted was not promoting a conspiracy theory. It is not a secret that the zoos, around the world, trade and sell animals and they do arrange for who can mate with who. Some female mammals are put on artificial birth control. There are often legit reasons for doing these things in the best interest of the particular species.
Stolen chimp babies are currently my favorite UA-cam genre...
Lmao
Maybe all of you who said keepers were making something of nothing. Look at this. They were worried this would happen. Last video. Now? They were right Think again. They are the experts not us.
Check out "The Vervet Monkey Foundation" on UA-cam. They rescue tiny orphaned vervet monkeys who get a foster mom and live in protected forest. I subscribe & watch the weekly videos to see them progress, so cool. It's baby season now & they have 15! ua-cam.com/video/ItKPXqK5qQA/v-deo.html
I meant using the cameras in real time, not evaluating afterwards.
I thought nobody could take a chimpanzee baby without a fight to death
She didn't take the baby, the baby was handed to her by Ma. 🌞
Wonder if patty could have an adopted baby to have?
And feed an adopted baby how? Don't think great apes know how to fix bottles!😜
Lol this is nothing 😂
It’s amazing how the chimps are intelligent enough to know that trying to calmly diffuse the situation is the best way to keep the baby safe rather than use physical force to take her back.
So there was no kidnapping the baby was entrusted and given away by the mother as she guarded and supervised the unrelated female zeke. In 40 years they have never seen it done in an captured environment. Let them animals live in their own habitat and do what they do you can’t understand and explain it all.
Zener yea she's is so smart dam pattie
Give patties a baby maccrap and let her have a go at that...throw it on her back and congratulate her on new baby.
OH MY GOD ZEZE?
They love to pump up drama on this channel.
Chimp politics in their groups can be difficult to figure out. But who wouldn't love to hold an infant chimpanzee? ZeeZee wants to get in 'good' with the Alpha female, Patty. Then things got concerning! The chimps got worried and humans got worried as well!! I was frightened for all the chimps. Then everything ended happily, and ZeeZee and Patty knew what to do. Whew!
I thought we were going to see something very unpleasant...
Patti looks way to old for allomothering is she higher ranking?
The legs look like human legs
More protected baby then most humans.
