I think countess, andy, and mef should rank higher. Like the hole reason I would hit thoughs zones is for the better loot chance and most ppl already farm them. The arcane sanctuary is also good because you need keys, the chest tc level goes up, and also runes and charms. Not to mention it usually has good density so you would get alot of xp. I've never gotten good loot out of the arcane sanctuary either so that would be a nice change up as well.
Ruined Temple. I'd head straight there if that zone was terrorized. Small area with multiple boss packs. Really like farming it in SP for a change-up. For me, I'd honestly put Flayer Jungle up in S Tier! I'd bump Nihl's area down to A Tier because of the difficulty (same reason why you didn't have Worldstone higher). I agree with the rest
One thing I wished they had fixed is years is killing ghost off platforms and the loot poofs. I’d farm arcane sanc so much more if I didn’t feel like half my hrs will fall into outer space

I think a farming location per damage type build video would be dope. You mentioned fire would be great in icy cellar for example. Im thinking maybe damage type and their ideal terror zones with starter gear(ladder start, so only the bare minimum equipment-spirits, treachery/smoke), then zones pre infinity but with gear(have shako, occy, hoto, titans, maybe torch etc) then zones with infinity and geared up fully including skillers/enigma and a merc with fort/eth weapons etc). That also kinda sorts out the zones on a reasonable scaling of gear too, if you have infinity, then you probably have enigma and some skillers. Too many videos are showcasing ptr with the completely maxed out characters, and not enough videos showing the effectiveness of gearing in the terror zones vs just farming andy/meph/chaos like we did in the past
I played the PTR and the Sewers in Act 3 were the worst. Such a vast zone, hard to navigate without teleport and I kept running into those dolls in there. Arreat Plateau was another hard to navigate zone. When the Durance of Hate is terrorized, I won't bother with levels 1 and 2 because of the dolls. Frozen River is bad when you run into souls. Flayer Jungle is deceptively good. When you find a boss pack with a Flayer Shaman, you kill the Shaman for one unique loot chance. Then a regular boss flayer spawns and you get a second loot chance. Two chances for any item in the game from one unique kill. I actually liked the bloody foothills. You get several unique boss packs. Dac Farren and Shenk. Being terrorized, they always drop two items which can potentially be any item in the game. Thanks for ranking the zones though! Very helpful.

Blood moor/DoE should be rated higher than the crypt/mausoleum for accessibility alone. They're both sparsely populated but crypt/mausoleum is slower to get to and map layout is annoying without teleport.
I like this list. I’m a big fan of where you put arcane too because everyone else rated it higher and I’m not a believer in trying to kite everything to a platform every 5 seconds. Also I like how you took into account immunity and difficulty of monster type as opposed to just blind basing it on density alone. I might swap a few up or down a tier at most otherwise it’s spot on
I noticed when playing a fire wall sorc when it was op that arcane sanctuary isnt too bad if you play strategically. Cast in front of monsters and let them die walking through and tele port in front of it for ghosts to fly through if they passed in the first place.
Tbh, I dont think they need to add more monster density in every terror zone. Just maybe those who really need it like the Blood Moor and such. While I wont say no to more density in the Chaos Sanc, its really not that necessary.

It is insane to have bloody foothills in D tier. Monster density beside the tp is huge and easy to kill. My D tier would be act 4 areas (except Chaos and river of flame), many act 5 areas, forgotten temple, blood moor and blood raven.

For high level farming with strong groups id rank them differently. This is if you want the most XP possible: Worldstone keep, Chaos, Cows - S Tier, hard to beat the XP at level 97 i was getting 600-700K XP per chaos run and they're short. With 8 players the groups just steamroll everything and you just need to keep up :) Bloody Foothills isn't too bad, i'd raise it up a little. Again with a group, you take the Frigid Highlands waypoint, then go straight down with the group killing everything while staying within XP range of each other. The runs don't take long and the XP is not bad at all.
I need to add to this, i'm going to raise Bloody Foothills up to A Tier. I just got nearly half a bar of XP at level 97 from 1 hour of games i hosted on PSN. The key is, you need to take the Frigid Highlands waypoint and make sure ALL champ packs are cleared around Senk before heading down.
Terror zone monster levels depend on the level of the highest-level character in the current game (+2/+4/+5 for normal/champion/unique monsters). If there's a clvl=85+ character in your game, or if you're solo-farming with one, then yes, all monsters will be tc87.
The worst are Act 5 terror zones except for worldstone and frigid highlands. The best can be found in acts 1 and 2, stony fields, dark woods, black place(forget), stony tombs, cold plains, tal rasha, the pit.

As it stands, what's your starting char for next ladder? Think I'm going straight into terror zones once I'm level 60+ and have killed hell baal. I'm torn between a trapper with light sentry, death sentry and fireblast or a necro summoner.
@@slavetothesystem9854 Blizz + Glacial Spike is probably the safest HC Sorc Spec. If you're doing teleport heavy content and feel confident in your Save & Exit skills you can just go max black + hit your res caps. Ancient tunnels is pretty safe as long as your light/cold res is capped.
i hope they bring out a dlc for d2r act 6 and 2 more modes to bring back the challange maybe very tiny exp boost and very small mf boost with super rare set gear

Trav should be rated higher; you can kill the council over again and again gaining experience and loot. Now that they can drop everything, it is the perfect place
My thinking would be this: Only way to enter TZ is to carry Standard of Hero, to finnaly get some use on that thing (so that means you have to be lvl 90 to enter)

But it is... Just because you can un-immun them it does not mean that you want to run icy-cellar with blizz sork, or travi with firesorc. They are nice to have for immun packs in an area where are no immuns otherwise. But i won't run chaos with a fire sorc, even with sundered they would have ton of fire resistance. Also with elementals you don't really have -res, like magic, sunder basically do nothing. With my hdin i can barely kill p1 w2 with magic sunder, while p9 all other waves with ease.

No, the monsters' Mlvl is going up, which means that they can drop higher Ilvl items and from higher TCs. So for instance if you are level 91+, every monster in those zones could drop +45 life GCs.
They also add to the monster level, making places like The Cow Level and places like Tristram more viable than ever since now they can drop higher treasure class(level) of items!
Kurast sewers getting into B is far too high, the pathfinding is a nightmare for anyone who does not have teleport or leap. I would not mentally self harm trying to run here without teleport or leap.
What I would like to see from the terror zones is for a rune drop modification. Make the level 99 mobs drop only mid-high runes. No low rune drops from them at all. It will never happen but it would be a welcome change to help those who don't spend 12+ hours per day farming.
Arcane Sanctuary C. I actually like that you rated it so low. The less you popular streamers bring attention to this place, the more I get to farm it uninterrupted.
@@Mammel248 That's true. Prior to terror zones though not many of the top streamers give The Arcane Sanctuary much love. I often get this place to myself in 8 player games unlike popular places like the Chaos Sanctuary. I've found so many high runes here. Its so fast to kill monsters with the Nova Sorc, and combined with the increased drop rate of ghost, this place is gold. Just gotta 'get gud" at not killing the ghost when their not above land.
@@zaug1561 heh yeah in split MF games I usually do see someone take AS. It's not really suited for all builds, I think that's why it's not popular. Very good for light sorc and javazon for example, because you can kill mobs in a straight line which is perfect for those ghosts. But my tesladin aura often triggers ghosts from far away and then kills them in space, and my barb has to use berserk to kill them, which drops defense to 0 and then I get mana burned all the damn time. Very annoying to farm AS with some builds, and excellent to farm with others.

My merc uses lawbringer and every time I go to chaos and I’m about to kill some ghost boys fucking aura knocks them out of bounds

The Ghost Loot Bug, this has recently been fixed on private servers... and it's wonderful!
Flayer jungle is S tier personally specifically because the champion shamans are basically two for one, or four for one if you’re an item find barb
If they could patch the death-outside-the-path by something like - loot dropping on a nearest empty tile, that would be great...

Fire orb sorc kills everything in my experience. A little slow without infinity but that's fine. Also a damn mana hog

Java and light sorc absolutely slays in the bloody foothills though. The key is having teleport and huge AoE.

No 1 is catacombs due to bugged andy. Catacombs, Chaos and Pit are my drop what you are doing and go there terror zones.

My best spot to pick up sunders is river of flame act 4. Found 3 in 2 days . Crack of heaven , flame and ice . I have found my best items at countess.

Terror zone monster levels depend on the level of the highest-level character in the current game (+2/+4/+5 for normal/champion/unique monsters).

They changed it for the zealot in travincal, they don't run away anymore, making that area a much better area than before imo

Open space blood moor type can be good at lower level. Especially nightmare or early hell.

always always start sorc until you find enough money to swap, every other starting class will be slower and weaker until geared

drifter cavern is not a terror zone? it's a good lvl 85 area with good density
