Some really nice folds! Hard not to be results oriented but it seems like you're pretty good at it.
Even though you're on a losing streak, it feels like you're playing better and better poker from your first vlogs.
Looking forward to seeing the variance swing back in your direction and book some monstrous wins!!

@NorCalPoker just discovered your vlogs and love the videos. Just one thing I noticed, you seem to tip the dealer a lot. I know it is only 1 dollar, but this adds up. Given they already take a big chunk out of the pot, tipping a lot can put a serious dent in your winrate. If you want to achieve a winrate of 25$/ hr and you tip 5 hands each hour, you actually need a winrate of 30$/hr to compensate. Not to mention the costs you have for traveling an drinks, which also eat in your winrate. Not saying you should not tip (off course you can), but you might want to limit that some more. Love the content and keep it up!

@@NorCal_Poker It becomes really clear if you apply that to your first half year ;-) 220 hrs of poker equals to $1100 more profit, which is double the amount ;-). Off course you will not go that far as not to tip at all, but that ia what is adds up to ;-)
Living the dream! GL on the tables!

I went up to Stateline with the family just this past weekend to get away and spent two days at Harvey's. I watch how your session went there. For me, I found that there were many nitty players and passive players and mostly of retirement ages. Any $20+ preflop raise and no one would call. The pots were relatively small except for the PLO bomb pots that many and even the younger 30-40 years old didn't understand how to play. I even had to tell the player and the dealer that he didn't have a full house with his K5xx cards to the board 8855x. Most hands were played pretty straight forward. And steered clear of being on the wrong side of any coolers. My two sessions went as Saturday 5:48 hours for $835 and Sunday 4:29 hours for $1321. Both sessions were good but once I stayed flat for 2 hours not going up or down on each sessions. I called it quits and walked the streets at night and went back to the hotel to sleep. I would play there again, but probably not for a long time since it's 5 hours away for me. Keep up the great videos. I would like to see a vlog of you on a 2/5 game at some point to see if your plays and commentaries would be different.

You already understand variance will eat your lunch at times. Been watching your vlogs since the beginning. Even with a $600 loss, this was good poker. Your folds to nits saved you at least as much as you lost over the course of the night. The true method to win at poker is getting out of a hand when you're clearly beat. I expect a sin run is coming. My personal bad beats extended from July to November last year before it turned around.

2:13 - The jam opened up for you preflop. Vs just a flat on that jam and not a re-raise themselves, that's a perfect opportunity to re-raise and jam or make it like $200. Goal is to get them to fold out which means you'd get essentially 5:1 on a call from the all-in player. Next time... :)

Bro love the vlogs! You should consider playing higher stakes! 5/5 or 5/10. The open will be higher on average and youd be getting 3 bet more regular. So you’ll get paid off or be able to 4/5 bet when people have better hands. I use to play a lot at capital but now I only play if the tables have big stacks or action players playing. It’s not worth your time to play your good hands like Aces for an open of $20 and everyone calls instead of someone three beating ect.

The last Aq hand your flop bet needs to be more polarizing. 65 into 205 with 3 other players is just asking 2 or more second tier hands to come along. Giving them too good odds to hit their 2nd or 3rd pair out. Or at least just be up against a weaker ace.

Love the vlog, a little concerned with listening to these people that say to be more aggressive. I dont tell anyone how to play as the game changes every session and at certain frequencies we can explain why we play certain ways. Most successful pokers lean aggressive but at the table in this vlog pre flop aggression seemed to lead to small pots or larger multi way pots. Its easy to be aggressive with other peoples money but low stake can be a grind.

Its nuts...4 hands with AA, but another crappy session. Meanwhile, todays McClusker vlog that just dropped starts off with him flopping top set vs middle set...and a double up. Then him massively over playing 9-9, shoving on the turn knowing he was likely way behind, was insta-called...but of course sucking out big-time on the river to win the $700+ pot. Of course your AQ went down on the last hand that way...just a bad ending to another forgettable session. I keep thinking his extreme run good and your extreme run bad will soon return to a more normal variance for both of you...but apparently it might still be a while. Just gotta keep playing your best regardless. I had pretty brutal run-bad the first 4 months or so of 2024 even though I was still winning a little, but the last 3 months things have started to turn for the better and inevitably it will for you too. Who knows, you might be on the verge of an epic run starting on the next vlog all the way to 2025...you never know.

I play AA different now also. Instead of betting a lot (where they all fold except the one who ends up beating me) I bet a crapload preflop if I feel someone's strong because they'll put you on 10/10 or JJ... Or I pray for a great flop and don't raise pre-flop at all. If I have to fold AA it's so much better to have $5-15 invested versus $200+
