As a former Buddhist monk (who also happens to be Swedish :) I'd have loved to have a cottage like this that I could dissappear to for a few months at a time to Meditate. Now that I'm back living in daily life I think I'd need it even more tbh :) Love watching these calm relaxing videos Kalle, keep em coming!
I saw this pop up earlier in my working week and waited eagerly for Friday night when I can relax and watch it undisturbed. Love seeing the renovation/construction videos out in the forest, love your soundtrack choices and generally love the mood of your videos. Keep up the good work, Kalle! These truly help me unwind after a stressful week.
I’m loving seeing how the A frame is coming along Kalle, it’s going to be an absolute dream work space for you. Although I wouldn’t get any work done in there…I’d just be gazing out at the gorgeous forest view!! 😍😂🙌
It's crazy for me to see that you still have lots of snow up there, winters sure are long up in the north! Spring is here already where I live, everything is green and blooming. As much as I would like to have more snow in winter, I don't know how well I would deal with so many months of snow 🙈 The a-frame build is really coming together nicely, I love the big windows, can't wait to see it finished and with furniture! 👍😊
Dude, just think about it. I am a Brazilian guy, from the country. It's really really hot here, but I binge watch your videos and can't stop dreaming of visiting a place like that. Thank you for translating your existence into something that I can experience through my humble screen.
You gonna love the view. So unique place it gonna be. Soon, really soon it's ready and you are part of the nature when you are front of the window. 🌲🌳🌲💚💚💚🙏
That cabin is coming along nicely :) That insulation is really meant to fit the other way unless your joist are put in at different measurement, way to much work to have to cut it all, I know it looked 2" to wide but it should push into place :)
Another Candian, I joked that their framing timber looks like our finished timber, have you seen the crap at the box stores lately. I couldn't even source 10 decent 10ft fence boards from a palette last week. t was painful watching him cut the insulation but we are always learning, everyone was a beginner once :)
Don't you wish your main cabin was this well built? nice job and so cozy too. Great job, I know what Christine means, it's ok to space out the job...not so much pressure on yourself..thats all. It is going to be a wonderful space for you to work and meditate. Love your home and what you are doing there
It's so good to see that you have more snow than I do. I live in northern Värmland, in a small cottage on a mountain peak. There are huge amounts of snow here but 2 km away in the Valley, there is spring. Wtf? I'm living on the devils icecream cone
Ahh, it looks gooorgeous. And does my eye spot Adrian?!? Hahaha, you are all just a big Swedish family - I love it. Just a couple of weeks ago I saw Christine in a one of Annie's videos. Sending so much love to you all ❤
Kalle i really like your vids and everything you show us because of you i bought a house that i will move to soon + i started my gaming channel so Tack! en riktig brofist till dig.
Wonderful video as always Kalle. Just a thought on the floor, did you consider putting the insulation in full length ways, all 3 on top of each other then cutting a forth one length ways to the height of the 3 to fill the gap. Or would that have just not worked. Anyway it’s done now and the cabin is looking fantastic
I don't think it was mentioned...is the A Frame a prefab kit? Or is it a custom design? At a minimum, I guess it is something in between? Because those literal A Frames were pre-cut, and even numbered....
Hi i love how you make hard work of some things you're insulting when you're cutting it with a hand saw Try a power saw cut from both sides very easily done bye yours konrad
Is your friend in the red jacket English? Is there many English or English speakers living off grid in Sweden? I'm been looking at places the last few weeks and want I to move over and return to my viking roots 😂
Looks beautiful . Your framing timber is the equivalent of our finished timber in North America lol. Unfortunately, you worked harder not smarter with that insulation, try to make things easier for yourself in future projects
@@KalleFlodin If I'm not mistaken, you did an interview with Jonna Jinton, but I'd actually love to see some videos where you and Christine and Jonna and Johan (don't know if I spelled that right) all get together. Would be really awesome, since I watch both of you guys and find you both, very inspirational.
You said that you had to cut them "width wise" in several pieces to fill the bed... Why didn't you put the full length foam in and then, cut a stripe from an other one to add, full length, to fill the tiny gap?... would have been much faster and easier, no? This "spare" foam used to make the strips can be used several time to fill maybe half of all the extra strips needed... or, maybe, the gap was too small to do this! 🤪
I'm so curious why you have chosen to leave part of the floor open upstairs instead of extending the flooring the whole way above the entryway. It seems like you could have so much more useable space that way. I'm sure there is some reason. (watched your other video on nebula but don't see a way to comment over there).
Because we really like the openness that comes with it 😊 Everything in the cabin in so extremely low, so it's nice to have a space that feels a bit more open 😊
Kalle be honest: is the A-frame cabin also grizzlybear safe and is there a way to escape upstairs under the roof where a grizzlybear can't kill me? Kalle var ärlig: är A-frame-hytten också grizzlybjörn säker och finns det ett sätt att fly på övervåningen under taket där en grizzlybjörn inte kan döda mig?
Oh noo! To late now, but, with all the insulation the same size, you could have spent 10 minutes building a jig and cut all the pieces easily without measuring every single one!

Interesting work in progress with the A-frame! 😊 And I cant wait to see the adventure you and Christine went on! Greetings from Värmland, Sweden.

Kalle, we used an electric carving knife from the kitchen, and it made short work of our insulation bats.
I don't have something like that, but it sounds really smart!
It looks so beautiful! Congratulations on the progress.
Thank you so much 🥰

All this massive labour, but not a word about what this building is for. Is it a state secret? If not, I would love to know, please.

This is going to be a great space. I might have to move in. 😂 Just kidding. I do like the space and the bank of windows. Cheers-

That's so cool 😍 It's gonna be a lot of gaming in my A-frame as well 😉 Brofist!
loved it ❤😍
Make a jig so you don’t have to keep measuring, is this small enough to heat that thermal bridging isn’t a concern? Just wondering
❤love from Dubai ❤
😂 Im black and white too. I can't put a project down until its complete. Or until that step in complete. You're not alone!
Haha actually happy to hear that 😂
I am the same too. 😂
I am the opposite! xD
If the windows are fixed, how do you ventilate, is this with the door ?

Yes I thought about that, but it wasn't possible. That piece got way to small
Or build compartments to fit insulation lengthwise. A few centimeters closer No biggie.
Wouldn’t it be easier to cut each piece of insulation on the long side?
why didn’t you place the floor joists in such a manner that the insulation would just slip in and fit?
I don't think it was mentioned...is the A Frame a prefab kit? Or is it a custom design? At a minimum, I guess it is something in between? Because those literal A Frames were pre-cut, and even numbered....
I won! Option B with a round window. 😅
Why do you need insulation in the flooor between upper and lower floors. Stove is downstairs and hot air should be allowed to go up.
Why not cut the insulation for the floor on the long way?
Hi i love how you make hard work of some things you're insulting when you're cutting it with a hand saw Try a power saw cut from both sides very easily done bye yours konrad
Hej Kalle vad kostar en sådan hus att bygga?
is the A-Frame Cabin project on hold? Nothing more for six months now. :(
Couldn’t you have just put the insulation in lengthways and then cut a long thin strip to fill in the gaps?
Is your friend in the red jacket English? Is there many English or English speakers living off grid in Sweden? I'm been looking at places the last few weeks and want I to move over and return to my viking roots 😂
Why didn’t you make the space between the floor studs the exact width of the insulation?
That would have been a good idea, but it wasn't me who designed it 😊
Vad äter du? Jagar/fiskar/odlar/föder du upp mat själv?
Looks beautiful .
Your framing timber is the equivalent of our finished timber in North America lol. Unfortunately, you worked harder not smarter with that insulation, try to make things easier for yourself in future projects

Couldnt you just lay the strips in and then trim a narrow strip off another batt and lay it next to the first one ?
Did u move from the other house 🏠
Why didn’t you get the dogs to help you transport the materials?
I'll try that next time! 😊

I am the say way, I mean, I could take things slower or, I could get everything done at once. One less thing to cross of the list!
Happy I'm not alone 😅
Kom det ingen del 4?
Precis filmat del 4, kommer nog i morgon eller på måndag 😊
❤❤❤
Where is Part 4?
I JUST released part 3, I haven't even started filming part 4 yet 😅
Vet nån här om dom pratar engelska hemma när vi inte ser också eller om dom pratar nått annat språk ensamma?
Vi pratar oftast engelska med varandra 😊 men ibland smyger det in både svenska och danska
Note to self: check width of insulation; plan spacing of beams accordingly...save me cost of Tylenol.🎉
Kalle be honest: is the A-frame cabin also grizzlybear safe and is there a way to escape upstairs under the roof where a grizzlybear can't kill me?

No one knows. There are no grizzlys to test it out on in Sweden. It will probably protect you from out greatest predator though, nosy neighbours.
