i think he's doing the singing, rhythm and lead live, as well as the drummer live, with a backing track to follow along with (with the backup vocals and such... so no he's not lip syncing, the mics just keep dropping out leaving only the little chorus in the background...

i saw him a few weeks ago in philly at a church. the only thing bad about it was the audience. it was packed with artsy kids. all the men had beards and horn-rimmed glasses. all the girls had short hair and plaid shirts. they were all swaying, not dancing, and i couldn't see him a bit. but his commentaries in every song were really great, and it's best to record it when you're there, cause you'll never get the same recording twice.

I actually know who this song was written for. My friend Jerry told me a while back, and I was blown away cause I kinda felt this song was written for ME in a way. Not literally, but it perfectly addresses what I was going through years ago regarding a good friend of mine that I was very worried about. Would always think about her when I heard this.
