I bought two Mitubishis in 2011 (Lancer Sportback GTS) with the 2.4 and CVT and they've been the most reliable cars I've ever own. Seven years later and I haven't had them in the shop for a single repair. Nothing but regular maintenance. I'll absolutely consider the brand next time I need a new car.
Nice so its pretty much the same as mine I have a 2016 outlander AWD great car and awsome on gas. actually been getting over 31mpg on eco mode. Of course driving alittle slower then most others. Mitsubishi makes great cars and for a lower price then most other brands.
I was really hoping Everyman Driver would get the GT Version for this last year final refresh of the old platform. Zeroing in on my next car purchase in about 7 months from now and the Outlander with the V6 is at the top end of my possible list. Still glad to see any news on the Mitsubishi that's not the PHEV lol.
@@everymandriver - I hope so, but I look forward to all your reviews. You are very straight forward and highlight a lot of things most other reviewers ignore, thanks for keeping it going! This is at the top of my list for my next vehicle. It'd be nice to buy the last year before the new model when the Nissan/Renault partnership takes over and puts out some new piece of garbage. The current Outlander has a really good rating among consumers, minus the paint quality perhaps. My mom has been very happy with her 2015 Outlander Sport GT she bought new. Zero problems so far. Great little CUV and the prices Mitsubishi dealers offer is unbeatable. Made in Japan too.
The Mitsubishi Outlander has multi issues, Faulty fuel pump, faulty transmission. Mitsubishi replaced the Fuel Pump free of cost During 2011 which was my model. I had the major issues with the transmission/DVT, My entire engine collapsed. I took Mitsubishi to court and won the legal battle after 3 years. During 2016 Mitsubishi recalled 80,000 vehicles for free replacement of the CVT. Check the internet you will get enough complaints and information to substantiate these issues.
I have the 2016 model, here in Canada mine is called the ES Premium AWC (I wish they had the S-AWC in my 4 cyl trim back then as it was only in the 6 cyl trim). The only thing that keeps frustrating me is the handling of this crossover. It has an awkward handling on high speeds (numb electric steering) as if it's unstable. However the turn radius is very impressive. The CVT had some smoothness issues, they updated the software in a recall but few months ago Mitsubishi decided to replace mine as they were not satisfied with the computer update they did to smooth the simulated transitions. The rear brakes calipers were replaced as well in a recall... Overall, I think it's a good value for a family looking for safety, good AWC performance in snow conditions and some roomy cabin and cargo but again, the driving experience is not that wonderful...

Depends. Subaru started buying cvts from Nissans Jatco transmission company. They've had a lot a problems. But I did hear recently that they are now NOT buying them from Jatco anymore, so it depends..
