I am half way through my IVF treatment and I can’t wait till I get the positive pregnancy test to buy all my gear from you guys! I’ve been watching for over 2 years! ❤️❤️
Will be praying extra hard for you all going thru this process. I thank God 1st and then IVF for being 18 weeks preggo at the moment! Stay positive, healthy and strong-willed thru the process.
The Doona is a life saver. We had a big box store car seat for my first child. After trying to go to her 2 week appointment and not being able to figure out the car seat and having a complete melt down, plus having to have a separate stroller in a small car I was looking for other option. I found the doona, ordered it immediately and never looked back. My child was in it for 2 years because she was so small, but even if she would have only been in it for a year, it would have been worth every single penny.
I live in Canada, pregnant with my first, and you became my sole reference for baby gear. Your explanations are crystal clear and it makes the decision making process easier. Thank you so much!
I bought the Doona, my baby is 10 months old and I’m still using it. I’ve used it since day one. I don’t regret it at all. The wheels are fine and I had no issues with it...
Love our Chicco fit 2. Got it in 2017 for our second baby (at birth) and it's still going strong with 18 month old baby #3. Yes, it looks well loved but I can hardly verbalize how AWESOME this seat is. Sometimes it's just easier to lug your one year old while she's still in her seat (to plant her in front of the TV while you get her two siblings ready for naptime instead of literally crawling up your leg while howling like a raving lunatic). Heck, older babies still crash in their seat and most times you don't want to wake them up too much if they fell asleep too early in the car
Similar to me, I didn’t know much and bought a different brand car seat with our first. It was awful!! When he was ready for the bigger seat, I did more research and we got the Nuna rava and fell in love. We will definitely be getting the pipa for our new baby! Great video!!
Thank you so much for this! I'm a first time parent here and my sons due date is in January 2021. We're shopping for one in two weeks and this was really helpful. Car seats look a ton easier and safer than what I remember my sister being in in 2001.
I've been doing a lot of research and found that the Mockingbird stroller has an adapter you can buy for the UPPAbaby Mesa. :) I'm not pregnant yet, but hubby and I are trying and I'm soooo excited!
Baby is dune in June - I'll be buying the Nuna Pipa RX from your store because you deserve the business for this awesome video! Helping me a ton with the first-time dad-to-be jitters
Great video!! You pack so much info into 22 minutes. I never knew about the Clek Liing before this video. Now I'm loving the Clek and the Cybex Cloud Q!
I’m due in April with my third. Help! Baby equipment has changed so much since having my last child 😩 I have eyes on Clek Liing and Nuna Pipa right now.
We bought the Cloud Q as well as as the Priam. We loved the car seat as it seemed very safe, even though heavy. The car seat fit very snug against the seat and seemed comfortable. The Priam is awesome as well, but we hardly used it as we just put the car seat in the grocery cart when shopping. Now we bought the Cybex Sirona S. The installation is odd as the seat can be very secure at the base/seat, yet move around at the load leg/front. This worried me, but upon calling Cybex, it is supposed to do this so the car seat will move with a side impact instead of acting like a brick wall. It would be nice to see installation videos for this seat that show this.
Great video -- the detail you provide really helped me in my decision making process. Thank you for making this information so readily available, there's so much to wade through out there.
You helped me get the Doona and I’m obsessed with it my son is a year and 2 months and is ready for a next I’m curious to know what your favorite car seat is for a 1 year old?
We always love Nuna and Clek! Keep in mind you won't be able to put your car seat on the stroller anymore, so convertible car seats require a different thought process. We can always help in more detail at mbeans.com/consultations!
Oh and also... please NO ONE bring your car seat to the hospital still in the box 😂 we’ve seen it and most hospitals will not be allowed to help you install it due to liability reasons! Visiting a local fire department with a car seat technician can provide help and provide an inspection to be sure your car seat is installed properly!
Hello Thanks so much for your reviews! Always clear, detailed and fun to listen to! I have a question. As a parent that doesn’t drive I’m looking for a car seat that will serve me the longest because as I understand the next step car seats don’t click in to strollers anymore. Which one of the car seats has the highest weight limit? Also is there anything available after the infant car seat that can serve me in and out of Uber? Thanks
We have the Cybex Cloud Q and we use it with the Thule Urban Glide 2 stroller. We find it very hard to detach the car seat from the Maxi-Cosi adapter (shaking vigorously while stepping down on the stroller front wheel with our foot). What can we do to make it easier to detach the car seat off the adapters?
Many (if not all) car seat manufacturers only crash test their seats with one installation or the other, never both, so they do not suggest combining the methods due to lack of data.
The new Nuna next that's due to come out do you know if it's carsest compatible with the Joie I level I size carsest?. I tried asking a local store and as they don't have the new Nuna they said they don't know yet they said the Nuna mixx 2 is compatible as they are the same company ?
Thanks! Great stuff! I had someone recommended the Peg-Perego nido. The first thing I did was head to your channel to find a review, but didn’t find one. Any chance there will be one coming?
Hi! Thank you for such helpful videos. I am considering the purchase of a Pipa or Pipa Lite LX but was wondering the weight of these with inserts. I noticed that the weight of them is always listed “without insert” so I’m curious as to what it is with the inserts. Help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you again.
amberd521 the inserts add maybe a pound or two, at most. They’re only used when baby is small, so by the time baby gains enough weight that you really “care” about the overall weight of the seat, you’ll take the inserts out.
drleneplant either is safe (assuming you choose a convertible that will fit a newborn well!) skipping the infant seat and going straight for a convertible is a great way to save money but you do lose the infant car seat convenience, so you have to have a plan for out and about with baby. Baby wearing or a bassinet/newborn safe stroller are great options! I’ve personally skipped the infant seat and gone straight to convertible for multiple kids and it works great for us
Hello! I am a first time mommy and I am due in a month. I’ve been looking for the safest, lightest car seat for my baby. He will be a big one! Help! Which seat is the best to get?!
How about one of the chemical free Nuna Pipa's with the newer RELX base that acts like a built-in rebound bar, and has a load leg? That was our choice for both safety and not having dangerous chemicals.
This is my third so I’m looking for safety and it fitting in my car nicely. Would you be able to tell me which seat is narrow with good safety? I’d rather have a load leg if that helps
m 2 hi there! You won’t get recommendations for big box brand seats from a luxury retailer like Magic Beans but there are plenty of solid, extremely safe car seats out there that don’t cost this much. I’m a CPST (car seat expert) and neonatal nurse so I’m highly experienced in infant car seats. My favorite more affordable infant seats are the Graco Snugride Snuglock 35 (about $150) and the Britax BSafe35 (regular, not ultra). The Safety1st OnBoard35 and regular Graco Snugride seats without Snuglock are even less expensive and they’re fine seats, but the Snuglock install is amazingly easy so it’s a really great option at its price point. The key to your baby’s safety in the car is using your car seat correctly at all times - a “cheap” car seat used properly is infinitely safer than a Nuna that isn’t used as directed. Just make sure to read the manual carefully of whatever seat you get, and your new addition will be safe!
I read that the Doona should be used as a temporary travel car seat. What exactly does that mean? Could you use it as a full time car seat? I love the wheels
Doona is a great infant car seat but it should not be your main seat. The car seat itself is very heavy and has no storage space for a diaper bag or a purse. After some time the wheels will ware down. If you are wanting a Doona, grab a second car seat that will be your main one like a Graco Snugride 35 or 30!
@@liviaraye878 We found a sale on a Doona and went with it. Still waiting on baby's arrival. I appreciate your comment. I think having a corona baby means we won't be in the car much anyways so I think the seat will suit us perfectly for quick grocery runs and whatnot.
I feel like the doona can be your main car seat yes it does have some weight to it but that’s where the wheels comes in handy bc u don’t have to carry it which is a plus and as far as storage it does have storage u just have to Purchase it separately and they have several stroller diaper bag / purse type hanging storage for strollers on the market for the price I feel like it’s a win bc a lot of people have used this stroller up until 12 months
Thank you for your videos. How do these car seats compare to the Britax B-Safe 35 and the B-Safe Ultra. Trying to see what would be best with a BOB Alterain Pro Stroller
We have the Britax B-Safe Ultra and love it! What double stroller that has an adapter would you recommend with it? We currently have the Baby Jogger City Tour Lux. I want something with wheels that can handle tougher terrain , able to fit through a standard door, good quality but not outlandishly expensive “ under $600 preferably between the $200-450” and easy to fold.
If you like BabyJogger, I love my Baby Jogger City Select with 2 kids and Britax infant seat adapters. They’re expensive new, but they last forever and used ones are common to find in your price range (used/secondhand car seats aren’t safe, but strollers are fine!).
I love the cybex one, and I like the idea of the Doona+ but it is SO DARN HEAVY!! 😂 Oh, and, there are other reclinable car seats, Maxi-Cosi Marble, Pipa arra, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Lounge, Joie i-Level i-Size, Jane Matrix Light and Kiddy Evo Lunafix. ☺️
S F Why is that? It’s not so different. 🤷🏼♀️ I just know that Graco isn’t approved here, because they’re not steel reinforced like all the others. 🤷🏼♀️
Vivia Waag Europe has an entirely different set of standards and safety tests than the US. They must have updated the manual because loading the car seat into the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxIG_q-ZqgbzYXwbeApK3AybegDUy4f2fF double stroller was mentioned in the manual (unlike previous comments/reviews). The undercarriage basket is quite large but it is difficult to access when the back rider is reclined, however my toddler usually doesn't fall asleep in the stroller these days so I haven't had an issue. I was amazed by how smooth the ride was and how easily I was able to maneuver the stroller in small spaces. My toddler loves that she can see her baby sister (see photo) during the ride :) Plus you can't beat the price! I have only loaded it once in my car and it is fairly light but my mother wouldn't be able to lift it in.
