Love your presentations. The day will come when you'll really have to think hard recalling back to the days when you had to drive for 10,000 subs. Some people have it; some people don't. I'm guessing you've got it big time. Shine on, squire!
Coming from the northeast I have to say for those who follow non league football its happy days. I can see South Shields in the National league in a couple of seasons time, Spennymoor have a very good side at the minute and Gateshead are also doing well and Darlington are getting their season up and running after a dip in form. As for Salford love them or not they have big ambitions. Good show as always Luke.
Went to Shields earlier in the season in an official capacity, and the infrastructure is horrible. They’ve clearly got ambitious plans and all the best to them, but it’s almost like they’re wanting to get up as quickly as possible without focusing on the inside of their club.
Interesting watching this in the lead up to the 2021-2 season, with Orient and Salford both finishing jyst outside the play offs in League 2, and Harrogate having come up into the League too, while AFC Fylde are back in the National League North having been Playoff runners up and FA Trophy winners in the season you made the video.
I’m not a Hashtag follower but from what I know they have basically stuck with the same team since 2016 with some additions, which is really impressive
Since this recording Hashtag United is on the verge of winning their league. I have been watching them this year and seen them grow as a team. Sure they don't represent an area but an idea...There are plenty of clubs that don't have their area in their name, does that make them less of a club. Hashtag has a fanbase that is world wide. That is un-heard of if your not a top level club like Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona etc, etc...Maybe the fear of the future makes them a target of criticism... The ideal of normal people coming together to build something they love and seeing how far it can go. Is a story we all can relate to. Maybe the critics are those that don't have the courage to succeed or fail.
Youve missed out Nuneaton. A possible big team if they got the playing side of things sorted. Barrow, who i hope get into the League as well, as they were voted out more due to location than anything else. Warrington Town are another
I realise this is a few years old . But I want to make a good case for my club . Halesowen Town . Who after recent times , being beset by off field problems . But with new owners , are really beginning to make progress . Unfortunately beaten by a good Concord Rangers side in the trophy. We fully expect to win promotion this season to the Southern Premier Central . A club very much on the up .
Like to give a big shout out to my club Halesowen Town . Very much a club on the rise , got through to the FA Trophy & would surely have won the Southern Central Division One title , had it not been for the virus . With new owners & big investment . The Super Yeltz are going Places .
Salford, Leyton Orient and Fylde will all get in to the football league in the next 2 to 3 years and probably stay there. Hashtag is interesting .. I reckon more UA-cam teams will follow in to Non league in the coming years.. if Hashtag continue to grow I could easily see them in steps 1 and 2 in the near future.
Good video, and great to get some Non League news, it seems like there is a lot going on at the moment, which is good. I have a question, which isn't related to the video, but I'm curious. Who are Kidderminster Harriers main local rivals, both now and historically? Bromsgrove, Stourbridge, Halesowen, maybe even Solihull Moors, Telford or Hereford (I guess that is a little too far)? Or do they see themselves as aiming higher and the likes of Walsall, West Brom, Wolves, and Birmingham are more their rivals? The biggest rivalries are usually based on the two teams being in the same division for most of their history, but I'm finding it hard to think of teams in and around Kidderminster that fit this bill. I'm curious so if anyone knows, or even if NLYT can let me know I'd love to know. On another note and maybe a suggestion for another video would be non league clubs that climbed up to what is now the National League at some time, had a certain amount of success, but have now declined, or even worse gone out of business. Not far from me is Tamworth and Hednesford Town who both were in what was then the Conference, but the funding dried up and they have plummeted down the divisions. Maybe you could do this as a series and on a region by region (by conference - Northern, Southern, and Isthmian), just a thought. I know it would probably take quite a bit of research time to do this, but I do find your depth of knowledge of all things non league interesting, and would love to hear more.
@Nosaveddata so if hashtag were to change their name to the area they come from would that still be an issue with you? Hashtag united arent going anywhere, not with the backing they have online
There is one team that could potentially be in this list...Boston United. I think that with the players they've brought in, along with their new manager, previously of Shaw Lane, I think that in the next couple of years they'll be a force to be reckoned with. Just my opinion of course :)
@@joshm3059 as I said it's just my opinion ☺ Something about teams that have been in the EFL in the past interest me, would like to see them, along with several others, do well in the next few seasons
I had the idea that they should have 3 teams up/down between league 2 and the national league. My idea was that the top 2 go up automatically and then 3rd-6th have a play off and the winner plays the 22nd placed team in league two for a place in the football league. As it stands now, Eastleigh (who finished 7th) could go up, so I don't think this idea would be to any detriment of the quality of league two. Plus there are plenty of teams in league two who are just plodding around (such as Morecambe) so this would give them a bit of a kick up the arse. Surely they will think about 3 up/down in coming years?
For years people said Accrington were going nowhere fast. 2nd season in League 1 now.Last season. 14th , bit lower at the moment but i think they will be safe this time.
SPINERZ YT because we’ve been around in the league longer we are just struggling now, you were in the national league not long ago u were lucky to get out
I have a lot of respect for Leyton Orient since only weeks after they got back into the Football League their manager Justin Edinburgh suddenly died. I think he was only 48.
I think Weymouth are going under the radar a bit. Very high scoring and an absolute joy to watch this year on their way to promotion with the likes of Zubar
2 things. Assuming Salford go up, won't they be hit hard by financial fair play as Forest Green we're? Secondly, I used to quite like Fylde, because of the Dave Challinor/Tranmere link, but I don't like the 2020 sleeve patch, reminds me of the Forest Green stars. Both could come back and bite them on the bum.
Salford are that rich that they wouldn’t be affected by financial fair play a bit like PSG, there that rich that they could pay extra money to avoid FFP.
As long as they start to represent whichever area they settle in I don't see it as a massive problem, it's not like they've bought their way towards the efl
Easily a billion The lower leagues will be cheaper but its realisticly a 2 -3 hundred mil Jump to the prem Plus you need to do up.your ground along the way
Unrealistic in modern football when you take increasing a capacity of stadium as it goes along creating a academy whilst managing wage bills of new players coming in

Bromsgrove Sporting will hit the same barrier as Bromsgrove Rovers and that is catchment area. They can only go so far in the catchment area they are in and once they money dries up they could again find themselves in trouble. Scarborough have and always have had a good fan base. With the new stadium then as long as they don't progress too rapidly then they will do well and could reach the National League within 5 years. Billericay aren't stable enough to be taken seriously as a possible Football League club. Kidderminister, no bias from yourself there :) They should be at a higher level but the Football League is way in the distance. Fylde will be OK until the money dries up. South Shields should progress but there is a lot of history of clubs from South Shields failing. A couple of more clubs to watch, York City, once they move into their new stadium and return to the Football League will follow within a few seasons. I’m a Fylde fan and whilst I’m not going to deny that our owner is investing a lot, most of the money he puts in isn’t into the team itself. Very true, you could argue that Bromsgrove have no further potential fanbase to tap into, if you go west there's kiddy, north is the brum footy League clubs, west is Redditch (cold day in hell springs to mind before anyone from Redditch would give the 'grove' any time of day), and heading south there's Worcester. From experience it seems the fans still live off the glory days of the 90's, and in truth that's the only reason attendances are so high currently
Disappointed with your top two! Leyton Orient - too big to be non league but admirably bouncing back. Salford City - not just the cheque book factor helping them but also friends in the media helping them - I take it you’ve heard of Frank Lampard’s Derby County - the team who must be promoted to the FAPL say the media...?
What about Solihull Moors? New chairman has come with money n wants to bring the club up to the football league. Currently 5th in the National League. Decent manager who is getting results despite not the greatest players in the world but with an injection of money I can see them promoted in years to come.
I feel like Tamplin is the biggest joke of a club owner. He’s fucked about with Billericay to no end, he’s just a bit of a nutter and, put it this way: if you’re challenging for promotion and losing to relegation battlers, twice (to East Thurrock United, once in the Essex Senior Cup and once in Nat’l South), you’re a bit of a shit club.
6000 capacity from what ive just looked up as well, and a fairly big catchment area. OK Bournemouths in the PL but they arent that near.Going west you dont get anyone until Exeter, and northwards Yeovil. So a team in the Conference Premier would get well supported.
Hashtag United, who until i watched this id never heard of, apparently have a 4000 capacity stadium in Tilbury,. Only 350 seats, mind. A 4000 capacity can get you quite a way in non league, and though they would have to build more seats, they could possibly end up quite high in the pyramid
