@@JasonGillett OK thanks cuz one day I was wondering and spent a few minutes to see if I could find a key whole for the ignition incase the key died. But like the video said if they key dies just hold it up to the start button 👍
I swapped put battery and my fob is still saying not detected...so my alarm goes off every time i enter my vehicle. Amy idea why its doing this? Its a brand new battery
I want to know how to open it if my car is completely dead and I lost the outside key .. it wont turn on even the lights as I try to touch the door.. its completely dead.. how do I charge it like that... my car has been on my drive way because I dont know what to do....
If your car battery is dead you will need to call a tow truck with a lock service to open the door. Then replace or charge the battery. You may also need a battery for your key fab.
I just followed these instructions on my 2012 Journey. Things lit up, electronic pings sounded, then my entire dash display went black, engine didn't even try to turn over & car is now 100% unresponsive. What gives?
i hope everyone knows this is just temporary. i did mine like that couple times. changed my battery now it doesnt detect the fob at all. yours could be just a dead battery. or it could be like mine something a little more serious. still dont know what it is. cant figure it out. passive entry isnt working either. that was the 1st thing to stop working actually. if i just prees the brake and push the button all it does is give a single ding tone and doesnt turn on. 2017 charger daytona.

So what is going on here? Is there some sort of a meter that measures battery output and if it's not > a % or some static value it will try to power gauges etc. but won't try to turn over? If so, that's interesting to know. I wouldn't have thought of it. I'm used to the old school cars where you hear it trying to turn and sounds like Optimus Prime with pneumonia!
Tbh very dumb way to start a car without the fob, u have a physical key that only unlocks the door. Why can't it also be used to start the car instead of a magnet basically.

do you know what battery this uses and if it can be replaced yourself ? or a video on opening the fob ?
Yes it is easy, you just need a flat screw driver to crack it open like a clamshell. The battery is a 2032 you can get them at most drug stores etc

It could be that the key fob needs to be reprogrammed, usually just needs to be close to the ignition.
Huh I feel so stupid 🙃
I thought I had to pull the cover off the push start somehow to use the key.

So what is it when my car doesn’t start with the key fob. Doesn’t even go to ACC or Start position. Need another key fob, maybe ignition bad idk
Could be a few things, definlty time to get in touch with a shop.
Can I use any dodge key tho or dose it have to be the one from the car because I lost my keys I saw a video and they also used a pen to turn it on
You will need the original key fab or to get one reprogrammed.
I just did it lol and it worked. Now I must go get a new battery for the key fob

It sounds like your system has an electrical problem maybe with the alternator or the battery being low

Oh no! You’re key fab may have lost programming. If that happens you will need to get the vehicle into a service station.
Chances are your car's issue is not the FOB. Sorry.
