I know I need to replace the battery but didn't realize how time just flew by so fast! Now battery is dead and nothing response. I'm in a panic mode but panic button is useless too and I feel like I'm falling apart. Had to take a deep breath for a few and search youtube and found this video which saved me. Thank you!!!
It’s 11:15 PM on Wednesday evening. All I can say is Ty, Ty,and Ty. After watching so many videos and reading so many chats, Iand trying everything they suggested, I was finally able to not only open my doors but also start my engine for the first time in over a week. By you showing repeatedly how to change the battery which I had already replaced, but still not working, I was able to take a screen shot of the actual battery and the small wire that was touching the battery. Mine wasn’t. As soon as I did that everything worked as normal again. Thank you for saving me $110 an hour that the mechanic was going to charge me to figure out what was wrong with my starter. Thumbs up for helping people like me with very little extra money. May you be blessed and continue to grow your business online.
This worked for me. I had a half a tank, parked at walgreens, wouldn't start just would lock the brakes. I did this trick after watching and it worked!!! Thank u!!
I think all manufacturers should at least be required to have the option of a manual key and tumbler. But I think the push start systems are too unreliable. Not just the key itself, but the actual starting system. Not to mention they’re way too easy to steal. I like the good old days of a key, tumbler, and immobilizer.

Don't own a dodge but went thru a similar type issue with my infinity qx60. Turned out was the battery cable connections corroded over. Still wanted to say good job on the whole trouble shooting to solution follow thru. Not too fast, not too slow. Keep up the good work, cheers!

Thank you for passing this on! "Fob not detected" & nothing yesterday had me stranded sitting AT THE PUMP at busy gas station!!! Figured battery died & could NOT get fob pried open. NOTHING found in owners manual or when I asked dealer sales person "what if..." at sale time & closed on Sundays. Finally got hold of BIL & he vaguely recalled hearing to press button with fob. Seriously thought he was just messing with me but nothing to lose right? Sounded like HE was as surprised as I when my truck started!! Weird part is that the push button worked remotely after that! So not my battery either!

Wow! You are an impressive guy! ....had a trouble code and a dead main battery in my '13 Elantra, cleared the trouble code and now my fob won't work. Satellite will start it, and then shuts off and says Goodbye when I get in. LOL UGH. I'm going outside now at Midnight to try pushing the start button with the fob!

I was at the market 3 weeks ago and my key fob wouldn’t open the trunk! I knocked on the fob about 3 times until it started to work. Didn’t think about it could be the battery in the key fob. Getting it and my spare replaced asap.
I have TWO FOBS. Both have BRAND NEW BATTERIES. So WHY won’t neither work? One of the FOBS is also BRAND NEW. So I pushed the break pedal and did exactly what you said…use the “nosebleed” to push the button, and voila! I needed to do it a couple of times that way, and now I can just push the button with my finger. Thank you so much for this help! I just don’t understand WHY did neither one of my FOBS work like they should?!!! 😡
I just tried this on my Toyota Avalon 2013 push start and IT WORKS !!!! Im so excited. I don't like that you can't start it with a key because the key fob battery can die. I took the battery out, and tried this and it worked. It will say it can't detect the key until you touch the key to the start button.
So when should you replace the RHF? THE dealer made me replace the RHF THEN THE KEY PUSH START. Brand new truck still under warranty and still had to pay a grip to fix the issue. The key fob would start the truck but I couldn't start it with the button at all.

Hey my friend, this a 2018 model. The complete system controlled by a computer. A scan tool that can read those module will def be needed to diagnose such problems. This not really a DIY job

Hey bud, for my 2012 Journey I just picked up 2 key off a store on ebay real cheap. Works just as good. The problem you may have is getting them programmed. The dealer will likely charge you more because you didnt buy the key from them. Is your Journey push to start? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
Hey bud, We use a interface which plugs into the data link connecter and from there, a program on the laptop is use to displace the data and perform diagnostics similar to using a scan tool

Some cars you can actually pop the push to start button off and there a spot for your key to go in and start like an old car

Good video but where do you get the "NOSEBLEED" of the key? For the life of me I've never heard of that!
Its just the head part of the key. As shown in the video, try pressing that part up against the push to start button and see what happen

What if the brake is hard and can’t press down in order to start the car?
I'm not understanding the question. The brake signal needed has nothing to do with th force applied to the pedal.

It may not have had that feature on the car. Based off the vin, the new key is what the parts department said it call for.
