I listened to Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Odetta, etc... in the early 70's in my late teens, and songs like this from the 1960's helped me to formulate my political views and outlook on life. I have several Phil Ochs albums including the infamous "Gunfight At Carnegie Hall" from 1970, when he dressed up like Elvis Presley and sang songs from the 1950's in addition to his own compositions from the 1960's. Love seeing older folks and hippie types being on the far left. Funny enough my college math tutors were old hippies and far-left Marxist-Leninists back in the day that were into Phil Ochs and people like Pete Seeger, which is how I got introduced to 60s folk and protest music.
