That was the most gracious I’ve ever seen phil in defeat
Gracious because genuinely embarrassed by how he played
gracious only cuz other players are much richer than him
I can't remember hearing him acknowledge he misplayed a hand
He killed a kitten
I like Phil
Remember when Phil said he was never buying in short at a cash game again and then he pulls this less than 6mos later? Really tired of seeing this dude in cash games, brings zero action and even when he's all-in the pot is so little that it's hard to even care.
You said exactly what I wanted to say.
Why would you ever buy short? Bit of a noob here, but isn't it usually better to cover players where possible? Buy-in max if you can, no?
Pot is so little? How many 50k+ pots have you played sir?
@@KiraPlaysGuitar You min-buy when you feel you're not the best player, are scared money, etc. If you feel like you're the best player in the lineup, you buy in to cover other players. It reveals a lot about the table dynamics.
@@Bresingeri As in, when you expect to lose? Isn't it easier to make winning decisions with a bigger stack? Is the logic just "Well I probably won't win so I'll just throw away a little bit."?
It’s hard not to respect Phil as a tournament player but he might actually be one of the worst cash game players I’ve ever seen. He tries to trap every hand unless he has aces in which case he open shoves (poker after dark new episode), he buys in for 20k when others around him have 100+, AND when he’s making a decision for 15k he tanks for 5 minutes and agonizes and soaks up the tv time. Dude just needs to retire and play light games tbh
believe it or not theres alot of players like that, some are amazing cash game players, but absolutely suck ass in tournaments, and vice versa, its rare to see players that are equally good in both, as a player myself i prefer tournament play, but i like cash games in the sense that if i wanna sit and wait for a hand for 2 hours i can do that because i dont gotta worry about blinds increasing, the only benefit tournaments have over cash is you know what you're potentially losing before you sit down, in cash the number varies considerably
Trust me, he is not one of the "worst" cash game players you have ever seen. You only see what is on UA-cam. These pros play millions of hands. We only see a small sample on here. Phil is definitely a better tournament pro but is a much better cash game player than 99% of people in the game.
@24rules187 If you have any form of discipline, you can set yourself a limit in cash games.
cry about it
The guy is literally one of the few poker draws left. He retires and what do we have? The sound of chips being shuffled?
Never seen Phil win a single hand in big cash games... 💀
he is the absolute worst high stakes cash game player i've ever seen. doug polk made the correct laydown with the second nut straight to helmuth on the flop. you will never see anything like that and its because phil is that bad
Lol two unknown losing players talking about a guy that makes millions from poker that’s pretty funny to me
@CorporateSmitty calm down don't be a Hellmuth lol just making an obvious statement no need to be so salty. Just think he should stick to tournament style 🤷♂️
@@hybridfc9768 how did I know you were gonna write that exact comment damn you’re corny
@@whiskeyhoarder9587 agreed
"THIS IS NOT MUCH FUN"
100% phil's feeling towards cash games
He's a poker great, but his cash game just isn't up to par with these newer players. Also, his short buys don't allow him to have any chance to give anyone fold equity.
No fold equity? If he simply played the hand in standard way by putting in a 4bet he has tons of fold equity.. helmuth has no idea what is going on in cash it's hard to watch. There's nothing wrong with short stacking if you understand basic strategy lol
His cash game wasn't on par with the old players either.
@@johndempsey99 very true! Watched some episodes of HSP season 1…he played exactly like this and this was 16 years ago!
He deserves some accolades for being consistently bad, which is an achievement I guess.
Something was off with him that night. He usually plays much worse
Hellmuth playing short-stack tournament poker at a deep-stack, high-stakes cash game.
What an embarrassment.
If so he'd just rip-in his Jacks pre.
It really feels like Phil does not understand the simplest basic NLH Strategies nowadays, like do not cold-call a 3-/4-bet preflop and all that stuff. But at least he was honest after this show saying, he played bad today. GG Phil 💙
I actually think it's smart. I think he mostly plays for the camera time/publicity, while not actually risking his fortune.
My grandfather always said, "If you care about the amount of money you bring to a poker game, you've already lost." These days, Phil is playing like he cares. Not a winning formula against crypto-millionaires who don't care.
Also likely a reason to why he is stronger in tournaments.
Wise words from your grandfather
only thing worse than his play is his ability to wear a jacket 🥶
Phil buys in for 20K….Spin it how ever you want the buy in says it all
Gotta really appreciate how gracious of a lose Phil is today. Good man.
This is actually better than he normally plays
HAHA
Nothing better than watching Phil implode….
He rips A9 pre for 29k. then wont 4 bet jam JJ - instead flats and plays the hand 3 way and stacks off on a K high board 😂
Somebody in the comments said that there is no record Phil Hellmuth has ever 4 bet a hand in his life… there literally is no 4 bet range for him, in all the televised cash game appearances he has ever appeared in. Absolutely insane…
Phil went to the 8-16 limit holdem table after and lost another $1000.
😂
A few weeks ago I watched an old video of Hellmuth from 6 yrs ago. Going by this video and one about 4 months ago in a tournament.. Mr. Hellmuth has not aged well.
Gotta love the min buy in queen!
''I came, I saw, I punted (twice'' -Phil L muth
Phil thinks he's playing tournament shoving in with A9 🤣🤣🤣
He plays it like a short stack tourney
This is the best I've seen Phil handle himself
It’s so weird how both players got their money all-in and I suddenly realized that I didn’t want either of them to win the hand
We believe it . He always loses
They were not bad beats. He was miles behind.. he used to do well in the annual tournament. When it was mainly amateurs he could bully he doesn't even play in the high buy in tournaments
That's about as dumb of an explanation as it can possibly be
this happens when you play with very little money, the big stacks will eat you alive
The only person I want airball to beat is Phil 😂😂😂
Turning over a new leaf, Phil is finally learning to admit his faults. This is the most respectable that I've ever seen him.
All in with Ax suited. He’s all in when he has the worst hand and calls when he has the best hand.
Hellmuth shouldve brought his lucky 5 lb. bag of Sour Patch Kids.
Hellmuth creating his reality… now known for leaving streams early. ✌🏻
atleast he said he was bad this time
His conception of what range he should be playing severely short stacked is wicked wrong.
I really don't think he can discern the difference between tournament play and cash deep stack play. The opponents ranges are just different. He's always aggressive in the wrong spots. He's obviously one of the GOATs so I genuinely wonder why he can't seem to apply his prior knowledge to at least do a LITTLE bit better in these games.
11:02 Phil comes back to explain. Meanwhile, nobody gives a 💩
Would love Phil to play at our weekly VFW game. We would love his money more.
It looks like all the money earned in tournaments Phil loses in cash games.
Phil played like the huge chump that he is 😂
What people dont get with Phil is that he's bluffing all of us with his persona. It's like wrestling and most martial arts hype. Create a personality that people love to hate or talk about and ride the wave. He's smarter than he looks.
"Where's my phone !?" By Phil H is ace. What a serie of punch lines 👏 👌
Full ring cash is the equivalent to a slot machine for Helmuth. The odds are just never in his favor.
I can't remember the last time Phil won a high stakes poker game
Hand*
Phil Hellmuth is the kind of guy who would buy-in for $50 at a $1-$2 NLH cash game.
More like $20 then claims he played bad.
He played those 2 hands like an amateur 🤣
If Phil didn't have all that sponsorship money he'd have no money to play games. This is a perfect example.
Phil does not belong to any cash game. High or low stakes. He should ONLY play low-stakes tournaments ( $1500-$5000). Worst cash game player I've ever seen. He's no pro.
He went all in with A9s IN POSITION (a great calling hand) and called with JJ OOP against one of the best players of all time to call his money off on a K high flop….is Phil Hellmuth on some drugs we don’t know about?
I remember meeting Phil at a tournament after he busted from it in 2004 and was star struck when he signed a chip for me. Now he is a shell of himself. He doesn’t look good. He’s a humongous complainer. If I saw him coming towards me I wouldn’t bother saying hi.
He has to be punished.
Antonio Esfandiari would be a great addition to the table
You’re not there anymore Phil, u should retiré 😂 ( Tony G )
Phil is so out of his depths at this table, should only get an invite back for monday games or something. Went deep in the tank for 11k and then pouted about losing two min buy ins
Phil: I donked off all my money, how do I maximize my air time? I'll talk about how bad I played because I was tired yeah thats the ticket.
Back to the mean $1/3 streets for Phil.
Buying in for 60bb ;)
This is poker coaching at its best, he shows how not to play at all times! You have that great chance to learn from the best! :D
1:49 when they analyzing the outs. Why is phil off by 5% mentioning he has 25% when the graphic shows 30%. We would all thing a pro at his magnitude would have everything narrow down quite accurately? Or is the graphic wrong or something? (Had other people folded clubs or aces his equity would have been lower than what he mentioned not higher).
If anyone folds anything other than aces or clubs, Phil's equity goes up.
Phils best win on TV was when he took a giant bite out a roast beef sandwich that had the table and the commenters absolute shocked and stunned!
I can just hear the worlds teeniest tiniest record player playing "My Heart Bleeds for You"
I thought fill was going to buy in for half a mill the next high stakes game.
After 35 streams of not leaving a stream early, bruh nobody leaves a stream early
Ivey stacked him in a high stakes in the first 10 minutes. And he left. The commentator said it was the first time ever someone only had one bullet so it's nothing new
He’s literally only reason 70 percent of people click on this
No 4 bet with the Jacks smh
Out of position too! Against TWO players and ONE of the greatest players of all time…. He has absolutely no clue what he’s doing. Crazy
5:58 Not any king... if he had KJ it would be disastrous... he'd have to hit the case J to win
and if you consider Stanley folded JT, he would have been drawing dead ( although you really wouldn't be able to make use of that knowledge... I just noticed the 3% at the end )
Not suitable for playing high-end games, don't invite him, I feel like he can't afford to lose, wasted a quota, just arrange for him to play a small amount in the future, if you can't afford to lose, don't play
I genuinely think he doesn’t enjoy hustler so he just punts it off n gets paid lol
Oh yeah. Probably still winning some after those two punts
He carnt heven spel pocor ,,,😅
Worst cash game player ever , cold3bet Js and all in with A9s vs gamblers with no foldequity ...i m tired i leave the game ah aha ah come on
hey at least he was honest and didn’t complain
never seen phil 4 bet pre flop in 30 years
This comment should have many more likes!
Wait, Phil admitting he was in the wrong? And that he made bad decisions? I think Phil needs to isolate for 5 days
Even a nl25 grinder has edge on Phil.
It's 25nl
@@brandwijkgg very very genius
@@majidivari1863any winning player would have a massive edge over Phil… the plays he makes are atrociously bad. Idk why people think it’s funny….man needs to see a psychiatrist asap.
Embarrassing. Pls don’t invite him back
"Phil Hellmuth Can't Believe How Bad He Played", no one else had a problem believing it!
The thing about Phil is, like I hate his behavior most of the time. However he usually knows when to leave a table. Also I know he gets alot of hate for low buy in's in cash games but I think he's smart, he knows he is a tournament player first and foremost and thats how players go completely broke is thinking they are the best cash game players on top of being the best tourney players.
lol whats with the jacket half on, half off look?
Super cringe
"Honey, *I* went in with A 9!!"
I never understand why people run a hand twice. I can understand the losing hand wanting to, but why does the winning hand take the chance?
Every day that Phil Hellmuth suffers is a good day.
The so called pros can’t handle LA poker….
Phil and Tony G are 2 of the most unlikeable people. It's good to have someone to root against.
When you have JJ and are dying inside
Helmuth is the GOAT in cash games
@@DonTrump-sv1si lol
"He all-inned with A9 hunny"
Phil usually has great instincts in folding the worst hand.
Love Hellmuth but he needs to stay the hell away from cash games
Phil - 8 minutes in:
I’m not wrong very often
I think the internet would disagree Phil, it’s riddled with you being wrong😅
Is Dan Cates 'of this earth' 😅
Hellmuth is one of the worst cash game players.. LOL
Hellmuth and getting absolutely crushed at cash games name a better duo
on your bike and get the hell out of there😂😂
We’ve all had a few of these nights where every decision was the wrong decision 😅
PH, a legend in his own lunchtime
I don’t understand how someone can do this professionally. The entire game seems like chance. It is entertaining as hell to watch though
that's what happens when you buy in for the table minimum
He seems lost.
Confused, tilted, angry, stressed, tired…
Funny thing is if you think that youre the greatest player ever, buying in short works against your perceived superior player advantage
the year jungleman was born phil won wsop 1989, crazy right ?
And i was 4 years old 😅
Hey hellmuth go back to school you lost 50k old man
Phil don't play that bad. Hustler must have gave him chips to play. Then was like f this. I don't wanna be here.
does jungleman have multiple personality disorder
Why is Jungleman doing an Alec Torelli impression?
Phil buying in for the minimum? No way
