  • In today's i get the dribble bar out for the very first time and i just cant catch a break. Either the tractor is in the wrong setting, pipes break or a pipe gets stuck. Sorry for the Audio right at the start this was before i did the big change in Camera kit (I had a bad few days but at least we can laugh about it now)
This main thing is slurry gets on the ground and we get the job we wanted to do but this was a hard slog!
Hope you are all well and enjoy the video!!

I work in the film industry although I grew up on a farm. One huge difference between farming UA-camrs and filmmaker UA-camrs is that farmers are not afraid to show their mistakes, trials and errors and don't pretend to be know-it-all experts when they aren't. Something many UA-camrs in my current industry could do very well to learn!

When gravity loading, shut tower off, keep pto vac on & crack the clamp open on the pipe at the tower end & it will empty the pipe out into the tanker.👍

Tom, I know your aggravation. The last 48 hours at my work have been trying. I know it will be better, and I'm sure it will be the same for you. Your comment of 'Go for breakfast, I'm going to sort my life out' was funny. It made me laugh, and thanks, it's what I needed. A smile. The videos are great and I can't wait to see the farm once the construction is completed. Stay safe.

One bit of advice with the dribble bar is after ur finished up spreading the slurry run a load of water through the dribble bar to clean it out so the slurry doesn’t harden in the pipes and block it the dropper pipes

I do wonder if a better design of spreader might be one large trough running full width of the spread, with cut-outs for each dribble point. That way you don't have pipes to worry about and the whole thing is a bit easier to keep clear.

This'll make you laugh. A neighbour who's just moved to my village from London, has sent a letter around for signatures to stop the local farmers from spreading slurry around. I grew up in a farming community in North Wales and worked on farms in my younger years, so I had to explain why farmers spread slurry. She was getting angrier and even suggested getting a lawyer involved!

Its the same the whole world over..... yes it really is. Many other tubers have mentioned this problem. The incomer has a fixed idea of what they are moving to and nothing can get in its way. Never mind the communities who have lived and worked there for generations.

When your tank is emptying and blowing off the excess pressure, better for the environment if you close the lolly pop and leave pressure off with the hydraulic change over valve on the vacuum pump, less air particulars being expelled with change over valve.

Tom if you are getting lots of blockages before the macerator you can remove the rubber cone, you'll then need to drive a bit faster becasuse the flow will be faster. The cone is only to slow the flow if travelling up hill and cannot travel fast. The macerator would have chewed up that piece of plastic or sod and you wouldn't have had a problem. I expect you'll have problems with sod from the tower later.
