When I entered Rice, it was an institute. We would parody the logo saying, “Oh sure, Rice is dedicated to Letters, Science, and the history of Art.” Turns out - Shakespeare and Newton are easy. Beethoven and Brahms are hard. The faculty and students of the Shepherd School show us what gifted really is. Quite simply, in my opinion, the Shepherd School is the jewel in Rice’s crown.
