Do not use 2 mil or less plastic sheeting. It starts to split and shred in less than 4 weeks. Use 4 mil plastic. I learned this the hard way, had to recover everything after 4 weeks with 4mil.
Sweet Vuvuzela, Definitely! I did the results: A 10 ft tall tomato plant. (1 Early Girl w/85 lbs of fruit) Sliding a watering-wand w/living water underneath the clear plastic, insures unobstructed/retained moisture. Myccorhiza fungi bacteria, disease resistance, are also blessings.
Clear plastic allows the solar energy to heat up the soil, killing seeds and organisms down into the soil. The black plastic is great to block light, but it won't provide that kill zone into the soil.
Shit. .im late..moist soil...check... seal.edges with soil...check....er will it kill that frigging grass...my bain...and nutsedge...put in soaker hose....check..2 months..oh well.....

Do i amended my soil before or after solarization ? I just want to kill weed seeds and bad bugs.
