トラクターよりも作業機の方が幅があるので、隣接法で畝を作っていくと、畝間の幅は自然と決まってしまいます。

太陽熱処理効果については小祝政明さんの解説が参考になります。透明シート剥がして表面が硬くて耕してしまうと雑草が生え出すので、そのまま作付けできる程の柔らかさがポイントで、現場で挿し棒しているように耕盤まで20㎝入る程度は必要と思います。

その動画は以前に見たことがあります。
私のこの太陽熱消毒のやり方ですと、5cm程度まで耕しても雑草は生えてきません。
つまり、5cm以上深いところまで雑草種子が死滅しています。
感覚的には6～7cmほど死滅しているようです。
苗移植の時期に来ましたら、硬くなった表面を機械で薄く耕し、苗定植と覆土がし易いように処理をします。
今年はちゃんとその動画を撮りますので、また時期が来ましたらご覧ください。
