One of the top is more accurate. To be the top you will have to produce 5th Gen aircrafts. S'pore is nearer to the top as they already operating F35 with more on the way. Israel is like S'pore with 5th Gen warplanes. Wondering when will India catch up with these 2 nations.

And indian armed forces already acquiring more than 5 varieties of helicopters for army, navy and airforce. Excluding thh above mentioned helicopters.

Airforce depends a lot on radar signals, air to air and surface to air communication, jammers and whole lot of very high efficient signal system. Mere fighters, however lethal, bound to fail owing to ineffective signal feedback.

China have triple times number of 5th JF20 for each of India's latest Rafale jets.
All thanks to sleeping govt. and project delays by hard working HAL.
In the next decade the wrongs of the past will be undone. Also Chinese PLA AF has more than half it's fleet in repair or unfit for flight.. IAF maintains a very high service ratio.. it's next to none thanks to our ground crew and the Fighter jet platforms that are with us.

JF20 is not even a 5th gen aircraft… it’s elongated and we don’t need Rafael to beat it.. the Mirage 2000 of the IAF can take it down.. but then our IAF fighter pilots are capable of handling combat. The PLA jets make movies within 3d simulations.

You see army has million active soldiers if not counting reserves and you need to pay these soldiers cuz they are sacrificing everything for their nation.Their salary is still a bit low but there is no need to increase it.If you compare the capital budget expenditure then there is much less difference

Even India has the best air defense system in the world (the s-400) which is a Russian SAM.
And even now you are not satisfied then go and read about the balakot air strike in 2019 and see how 12 miraag 2000s got into the pakistani air defenses even after the highest preparations of the pakistani air defense systems and the firepower and air-to-ground capabilities of the miraag 2000s are known to the world so just imagine the amount of destruction they did in 2019.

The mighty strong Indian air force desperately needs fighters as the fighter squadron strength of the IAF fell to 31. The situation is likely to get worse as ( 40 Mig 21 Bison ) are scheduled to be phased out next year
