    Thank you! I just discovered your channel via You Tube as I was searching for instructions on how to boil eggs in my brand new 8 qt Crock Pot Express. This was my first time using it. I look forward also to trying your chicken and dumplings recipe and various other recipes you’ve shared. Thanks again!

    How to do you know when it comes to pressure? Doesn’t the “HEAT” stay on awhile? I have the same crockpot express.

  • @hyperbaricaxom1763
    @hyperbaricaxom1763 3 роки тому

    I just got my Crock Pot Express this week and hard boiled eggs were the first thing made in it. I also used 8 minutes (manual mode, low pressure) and they came out perfect.
    I did initially have a problem during the initial setup water test, as steam was escaping from all around the lid, even tho on lock position. It seemed the silicone gasket ring had 'stuck' to the lids inner ring over the time 'dry-locked' since manufacture. Loosened the silicone gasket with my fingers and voila! Perfect seal for the egg batch.
    BTW, I just came from another UA-cam video showing a guy using a 3 minute setting for 'perfect' hard boiled eggs. No way will 3 min do it!

    I'm not clear on 'let it come to pressure, and then do an immediate release'. Do I release when 'HEAT' goes way? Or when the 8 minutes are up?

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому +1

      Hi mdesm2005 You turn the valve to let the steam out immediately after the 8 minutes are up and the timer has beeped. If this is your first time, I recommend using a spatula or kitchen towel just to get used to it.

    I cant wait to use mine for this alone this was a huge selling point i hated making the hard boiled eggs because mine are fresh eggs from my chickens and one reason eggs wont peel is if they are too fresh. So i had to keep eggs for 3 before they were good to boil and peel or just buy some from the store, the fact the store bought eggs peel better then 3 week old ones is the reason i dont like store bought eggs.

    If I if I wanted to add small white potatoes so I could have boiled potatoes and eggs would the potatoes get cooked in that time?

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  3 роки тому

      Hey!!! Unfortunately, the potatoes will need double the time if not more depending upon their size. You could put them in and then add another 7 minutes after the eggs are done, as long as they are baby potatoes and you want them to be soft. If you don't mind a firmer texture, than 5 minutes will be good. If they are any bigger than baby, I would recommend keeping them in an extra 12 minutes! Let me know how it works combining the two! Thanks for asking me! 😉

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому

      D Jamerson only one more minute if you think they weren’t done enough, otherwise they will be overdone with gray rings. Yuck! You can also use the steam button... It doesn’t really matter, but they are the only two that let you decrease to that short of time! 😉

      Is it the new Crockpot Express Multi Cooker? If so, it should always count down, so if it's not I would say it is most likely defective. Did you try adjusting the silicone gasket to make sure it is sealing properly? I would do a water test to not waste any food and if it still doesn't count down, I would return it or contact Crock-Pot for a new Crock Express. They have wonderful and very helpful customer service. You can call 1-800-323-9519. Good luck and I hope you get it resolved because it's such a great kitchen appliance! :)

    Do you store them in the fridge with the shells on or off please?

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому

      I personally always keep the shells on and peel each one right before I eat it. I store them in an air tight plastic container or individual snack ziploc bags to grab quickly! You can keep them like this in the fridge for up to 7 days! If you choose to peel them ahead you must put a damp paper towel at the bottom of the container or cover them with water and change it daily! Too much work if you ask me!!! 😜 Hope that helps! Cooked eggs in crock pot express cook and they are impossible to peel
    Used an egg carton and cooked them b4 and they turned out great but don't remember the recipe

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  5 років тому

      Theresa Morrissey I have also used the egg cartons, but found it made no difference in the cooking process. Just cut the carton in half if you have a dozen or just buy a half dozen to make it easy. Be sure they are not the plastic cartons that so many eggs come in these days! 😉 Put the trivet in, add a cup of water and cook for 5 min with no water bath. The water bath not only stops them from cooking but it helps them peel easier. If you don’t have ice put them in the coldest water you have! Hope that helps!

      @@crockpotempire here's a magical tip that I HAVEN'T tested yet in the CP yet but have seen it done in a different device. Basically you put a Tiny little pin hole in the top of the egg, the smaller end, and stand the eggs up in the carton and cook like you would here. 📍 The steam separates the shell from the cooked egg and literally makes the entire shell slide right off after you cool em down enough to touch em. At least that's how it works in the little egg cooking device we have lol. I'm sure it would work the same in the cooker, worth a shot yea
