Awesome work! Very impressive unit and I have been looking for something for my VE, looks like I have found it! Cheers and keep up the great job.
I got my 2009 sv6 ute for 13,000 and has just under 200,000k’s and is practically brand new condition i could not believe it. It was 1 owner and had the hard top and the back tray was pristine only thing he ever had in it was his surfboards and i can tell and the interior looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor was unreal for the price and K’s and I bought it from an old fella in his 70’s 👌🏻

Thanks for this.. another reason to do this.. my case, have a lot spent on my Ute, but trade in price is horrible low, worth retro fitting to a more modern interior with some leather upgrades and all of a sudden you have a car that’s better than a 60k car.

Does the bottom buttons light up IE Hazards, Climate Control and Sports mode buttons? Mine doesn’t light up wondering if it’s normal

Hey do these new kits allow the drivers dash-cluster to show stereo information? like when you put volume up etc, current song/radio station, also does the steering wheel button for phone now work like the siri button? I've got the old alpine stuff and keen on these new features (got a 2008 SV6 wagon)

Grettings from Brazil. This Fascia kit comes with a harness, right? This is the only cable needed to install one of that compatible multimedia, it's sufficient to keep the steering buttons working?

Here on the market I can buy ILX507 or ILXW650. They are Alpine's, but not exactly the same described in many australian websites. Did you know if they are also easy compatible with facia?

Hey mate, thabk you very much 🙂 If you follow the link in the description, there is a Halo version for series 2. You can only do a single din style unit in the S2 unless you want to go down the S1 dash conversion route haha

What do you call the part next to the drivers seat the keeps the seat upright and has the controls to incline/decline your seat and move it forwards/backwards
Ahhhhhh... that's a good question. Seat side trim or Seat side switch panel would be my guess

Yes it will but you will need to get the facia kit made by Aerpro. That will accommodate a double din but you can just use a pocket to fill the extra din 🙂

Is it possible to swap the steering wheel with a VE2 2012 steering wheel? Been wanting to replace mine
I would there is a very high chance that the wiring in the clockspring would be different from S1 to S2, so probably wouldnt work properly. I think the airbag plug was different as well

Nice work! Do know of any place to source the clips for the facia plate? I'm wondering if these units will work on US cars. I have a G8 (VE1) it would look great in. And the large screen ones as well!
You should be able to find them on ebay as the are a generic gm clip from memory. This place here does sell them though, maybe you could find them locally from this listing 🙂

I have this kit but was installed at a shop, I need to remove it to do something how do you remove the plastic?
The plastics are clipped in but are very strong clips at the bottom, then there is a metal plate behind it that is screwed in 🙂

I got mine installed and it hasn’t retained the factory screen. Any ideas why?
In the settings of the lower screen, there is a setting to turn it on. You may need to dissconnect the battery and do a full reset, this can also help it read the can-bus data of the car. Hope this helps mate

Thats a great question. The facia I not available for sale without the headunit, and there may be some differences in region on the headunit itself. Send me a message and I'll look into it 🙂

Alpine will only sell this as a kit, with their own headunits

Yes you can, you would need to get the Aerpro kit.

There is a new version coming out for the VF, but not too sure of when though

Not all of us are bad (most of us are) I've got a v8 Calais ve that I bought off my father and unlike most p platers I haven't absolutely fucked it
Why are the Ve alpines better than the Vfs smh
They are shit had nothing but problems, everytime you start your car you have to adjust the fan speed
