    "Day Tripper", in the UK (not sure about the states) is a return ticket on a train...when the Beatles wrote this,,,steam trains were the norm, so Ringo made the main drum patterns a "steam train" sound.

      In the 60s, a day tripper was also a casual drug user. You've way over-analysed this.

    • @alphadogstudio
      @alphadogstudio 6 років тому +1

      According to interviews with Lennon, it's from an article he read about housewives doing drugs (most likely just pot) in the daytime and then returning to being the conservative button downed housewife (of the era) when her husband was home.

    Thanks for this. Curious thing about your 'With The Beatles' backdrop - John is looking to the side, whereas in the actual album cover photo, he, like Paul, George and Ringo, is looking directly at the viewer. It does not make any sense to me that another photo from the same shoot would have been used, but that appears to be the case.

    Hi! Nice video! I'm starting to become a mad Ringo fan :)
    May I ask you something?
    I believe that (as in Ticket to Ride he does that pattern that is not exactly a triplet, but the 2nd and 3rd beat come a little late) at the final part of this song, the flams aren't exactly on tempo. I believe the 2nd and 3rd beat come a little earlier than regular.
    Maybe i'm wrong... but I don't feel like they're exactly as you played them.
    Thanks!

      Well I've been tuning drums since I was little. I used to try to find the right sound to all the pros drum kits sound and try to reproduce the sound. SO when I tune my drums I do it by feel, their is no dial or torque wrench, just a standard drum key. What I do is I start with one lug then go directly to the opposite lug across. I do half turns till I find the desired pitch. Each lug does those steps all the way around. I listen to the note in my head and then try and get the same note on my kit. I hope that helps. Good Luck. Keep Rockin' JOEDRUMS2112

    Hey Joe (sorry, could not resist that), re. potential copyright infringement, have a listen to this version of
    'I Saw Her Standing There' by Beatles Guitar Secrets, in which he uses the original version of the song. Specifically, you might want to take a look at the last paragraph - under the statement between the video and the comments. Beatles Guitar Secrets has written a statement on copyright there.
    Now, I am not sure that is still valid, as the video was posted in 2012, but none of his videos have been taken down, and there are quite a few other lessons here on UA-cam which use the artists' original songs.

    Other than the triplets it was pretty mundane. Nice vintage drums.

    What you need to do is exactly what you did, but then add your drums over the song so WE CAN ACTUALLY HERE what you sound like WITH THE SONG. Its just weird here you play with NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Heinrich Illing If I play along with the song the Beatles lawyers get all mad and take the video down. So what’s the point in that happening? So that’s why I didn’t add the music to me playing the drums. Keep Rockin JOEDRUMS2112
