I remember when I was 8 or 9, my uncle took my brother and I to see Avenged Sevenfold and we happened to meet Jimmy at the meet and greet. He had such a warm heart and wonderful laugh. he signed my drum sticks and my shirt and told me to never give up on my dreams. when I heard he had passed, my heart broke in millions of pieces. He was amazing and such a great drummer. Rock in paradise, Rev. 😔
It has been nearly 15 years since this legend has passed. The reverberations of his soul can still be felt across thousands of people. If only we could see what he would have geown into. Easily one of the best hard rock and metal artists to walk the planet
#1 they’re sellouts (waking the fallen was the last of their true sound). #2 their Commercial success and targeted fanbase doesn’t add up to hardworking talent (A7X literally steals NOT borrows other bands riffs) #3 Their fans are just as annoying as Taylor Swift fans.

I remember the day he passed. I was 15, going on 16 and me and my brother were huge fans. Me and him were helping my dad with something and my brother went to go get water and he came back with tears in his eyes and told me the news and i almost broke down right then and there. It's hard for me to listen to the album Nightmare because Jimmy is the only person i can think about. I came back to this video to mourn my brother and remember the talks we had about Jimmy and the band and what we thought they would do next. I'm still a fan of this band to this day and I'm eager to see what is next for a new album. I will and always, almost 10 years later, remember that day when the first person to motivate me to play the drums left this world. R.I.P. The Knife Master
Oh dude, my best friends and I were only 14 at that time. It was one of my best friends who called me first. She was crying non stop so I just couldn't grasp what she said. After like 5-10 mins on the phone she finally calmed down and she told me that Jimmy had passed away. It just felt so surreal. I couldn't believe it at first. It felt real when the next day we met at school and she cried again, me and my other best friend tried to calm her down only to find ourselves crying too. I still can't forget all the memories we had when we're really enjoying ourselves fangirling over a7x back in middle school. Jimmy was so loved so cherised, even from the other side of the earth. He left so young. He would be in our hearts foREVer.
I'm feel so blessed, privileged, lucky I got to see Jimmy play once.. I actually have seen A7X with every drummer that was in the band. All were good, but one was great. Love you Jimmy Rest easy...
Jimmy was a funny guy, a great musician, and above all, a great friend. I bet everyone who met him miss him so much right now. Jimmy was that kind of guy you could hang out, have a beer with and give some good laughs. He will always be in the hearts of his family, friends, bandmates, and fans. R.I.P James Owen Sullivan. The rev and this band, is what got me into rock/metal music. Its what made me play my heart out for years, tour across the u.s. and spend more hours in music than any thing else in this world. You had a great life. Truly a blessed man.
I was a big fan of him when I was 12. When my brother came back home and bring the news about the rev's death I was literally so shocked that I couldn't even eat or do anything that day. But I still listen to their album until high school. Seeing him in this tribute bring so much memories, thank you.

As a fan and a fellow musician I would like to say that rev and syn are probably my two biggest inspirations. I had the honor of meeting rev at a concert about 2 or 3 years before he died and he was one of the nicest and coolest people I've ever met from my heart to the band I say rest in peace jimmy you are an inspiration to me and I will always carry on that memory when I play guitar. One of the greatest bands out there. I occasionally play So Far Away to remember a fallen friend. And when my 8 yr old daughter started to sing the lyrics. I love your first album
Im really not sure if I'm going to get hate on this. Jimmy has always been my biggest inspiration, not only for drumming, but for the way I live. I have learned not to be afraid of showing who I truly am. I don't know why, but I always forget that he is gone. I'm only 12 and he's been my role model since i was 5. I will watch a live show on youtube in which he was still alive, and just feel a connection. I always have the expectation that I'll see him at a show. I never even met the man in real life, yet I feel such a close bond. I'm not sure if any of you feel the same way, but all i have to say is Rest In Peace, foREVer.
Im 11 man and ive loved them since I was about 8 and i feel you dude. He was a big musical inspiration for me and helped me develop my drum style. Ive learned most of the songs from avenged sevenfold and i am so sad we wont hear music from jimmy anymore. Jimmy foREVer
I lost my best friend around the same time as losing one of my idols. Was such a dark time, Nightmare helped me understand such heavy emotions I was feeling at the time. Long Live the Rev 🤟🤟
Love how they play I Won’t See You Tonight Part 1 in the background, probably my favorite song. Really wish I could’ve seen met The Rev and play/sing live. r.i.p legend.

I might be stupid here, but because of the age he died, I put him into the same department as Hendrix, Morrison and Cobain (and many others. Even Vaughan even though he was older). They just had so much more to give, and such great personalities
14 years ago today we lost the walking breathing myth, the rev. I cant believe its been that long already. This band has been part of most of my life now, and I can still feel the rev in alot of the new music they been pumping out. A true genuine spirit. Thanks for the smiles and laughs brother.
Only recently i got into avenged sevenfold, and when i heard jimmy's playing i thought. damn i got to meet this guy he is AMAZING. then i went on wikipedia and looked him up, and it said he died. as soon as i saw that i was like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!
Still one of the greatest rock drummers of all time. I've been listening to Avenged since I was a little kid and I still am finding little nuances I never noticed before in his drumming and song writing
+Anon Anon no, I'm just welcoming them to real music. You misunderstood my statement. Besides, they'll propably go around to listening to the old A7X anyways
This still brings out a lot of emotions for me always will. Thinking about all the memories with my own life and sharing it with the Avenged Sevenfold family. The Revs energy is always here.
We miss you all the time Jimmy.... A7X is not the same without you.. I always love A7X but without you that not the same, you was one of the soul of Avenged Sevenfold! #foREVer ❤️
I started listening to Avenged Sevenfold like 2 months ago, i had listened to them before but never dig deep enough to call myself a fan, I had no idea who The Rev up until I made some research, I saw this video and some other videos and realized that his guy not only was very talented and funny, he was very loyal and very humble man. May his soul rest in peace. R.I.P. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan
I smiled so much that my face hurts, but that doesn't mean I don't miss him. It's just that it's been 4 years and he was such a great guy, I don't think he would want us to be sad anymore. He was funny and kind, and a fucking genius. I want to remember him and not just his death, if you know what I mean. I'm so proud of the guys for being able to continue without their best friend. Jimmy we miss you! ~foREVer~
11 years ago.. I was only 10. I had no idea who the band was or who Jimmy was. The first song I listened to was Afterlife on NHL 09 but that was a few years after his death and the game release (duh). As I got older I listened to more songs still having no idea Jimmy was dead. I found out two years ago, a friend of mine who also loves A7X and Jimmy told me. I was crushed. I later discovered Fiction, and was even more crushed when I read it was his last song before he died. #foREVer

I'm not sure if any of you feel the same way, but all i have to say is Rest In Peace, foREVer.
i feel you mad
i meant man
+Omar Bermudez dont play it off man, just make it out that u were trying to say mad feels
+SBNDark RIP THE REV. such a legend
Im 11 man and ive loved them since I was about 8 and i feel you dude. He was a big musical inspiration for me and helped me develop my drum style. Ive learned most of the songs from avenged sevenfold and i am so sad we wont hear music from jimmy anymore. Jimmy foREVer
Reading the description broke me. This video is a tear-jerker. RIP.
I lost my best friend around the same time as losing one of my idols. Was such a dark time, Nightmare helped me understand such heavy emotions I was feeling at the time. Long Live the Rev 🤟🤟
Sorry for being late Jimmy but I still want to wish you a happy B-day.We will keep the legend alive!
Still miss ya jimmy!
Love how they play I Won’t See You Tonight Part 1 in the background, probably my favorite song. Really wish I could’ve seen met The Rev and play/sing live. r.i.p legend.
We miss you,Jimmy
It’s been 12 Years without A Legend Rest In Paradise Sullivan

2024 I'm here, because I really miss you the Rev.. I love you foREVer
I would pay all the money in my bank account without question to be able to rewind time and see this legend live🙏🏻 RIP Jimmy you foREVer left a mark that will never fade.
I was lucky to see him in 08 awesome show, played with buckcherry and papa roach too
I might be stupid here, but because of the age he died, I put him into the same department as Hendrix, Morrison and Cobain (and many others.
12:20 that transition is so great. It gives you chills
It really is a great transition.
What if this is all a big lie, and he really is going to run on stage one day at a concert and yell "THE KNIFE MASTER HAS RETURNED!!!"
I may die of happiness...
That's my dream :)
You do realize that was a quote he heard, not something he made up about himself.
did I say he made it up himself?
The quote is not about him. The Rev is not the knife master.
Did you hear his singing? It's phenomenal
maikkeli Hells yeah!
I had this with pantera ;_;
@@koritmb861 same with both
welcome to the family bro
Still one of the greatest rock drummers of all time. I've been listening to Avenged since I was a little kid and I still am finding little nuances I never noticed before in his drumming and song writing
27 minutes is not enough. It's never enough, actually.
I saw this video again in 2020, because I felt like seeing jimmy "the rev" sullivan's face again and I didn't know what was happening
R.I.P. Jimmy-the Rev-Sullivan. 1981-2009
to all new A7X fans, WELCOME TO REAL MUSIC!!
indeed
I'm new
yo join are you saying the old avenged sevenfold with the rev wasn't good or real
+Anon Anon no, I'm just welcoming them to real music. You misunderstood my statement. Besides, they'll propably go around to listening to the old A7X anyways
jovin cozze ok sorry then
This still brings out a lot of emotions for me always will. Thinking about all the memories with my own life and sharing it with the Avenged Sevenfold family. The Revs energy is always here.
vejo esse video todo ano, e mesmo assim ainda não desce o fato do rev ter ido, todo ano eu presto homenagem, descanse em paz..
Vai doer pra sempre
Ainda Dói O Fato De Ele Ter Partido💔
RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. You are greatly missed. You were extremely Awesome. 💞❤💞❤💞🎶🎵🎼
We miss you all the time Jimmy.... A7X is not the same without you.. I always love A7X but without you that not the same, you was one of the soul of Avenged Sevenfold! #foREVer ❤️
it's 2023 and i still miss him, the rev is avenged sevenfold signature😢
Just Rest In Peace The Rev
Somewhere in an another dimension where jimmy refused to take these extra medical drugs and handled the pain
He might be still alive there till now
I watch this every so often and it never gets easier or hurts less
~foREVer~
I know he doesn't want us to be sad...but its so hard to fulfill his wishes! X'''(
I'm from Indonesia, miss the rev #foREVer
R.I.P Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan i always wanted to meet you
It still hurts to this day!
One of the very best drummers of all time!
#foREVer
24:33 makes me smile!
#foREVer
Not gunna lie but this made me cry R.I.P JIMMY if only he was still here am I right but he inspires me to make music 🤘🙏
How can anyone be heartless enough to dislike a tribute videos to one of the greatest musicians of our generation
