10 bucks says he comes back in halo 5, says,"It's going to take more than a giant laser to the torso and a fusion explosion to take out Sargent A. J. Johnson", and continues to be a badass. Please, 343?
I refuse to believe he's dead! He got back up, found the crashed Pelican, duel-wielded rocket launchers, and propelled himself through space while smoking 100 cigars and shooting his laser eyes at the ark! Nothing can kill Sgt. Johnson! He just gets back up and never surrenders! He was a Spartan 1 AND killed the first Covenant during the war. Sgt. Johnson is the ultimate badass!
It's sad because all of the most badass characters like Emile, Dutch and of course, Sgt. Johnson will most likely never appear again. But that doesn't make them dead for me, and I guess for you too.
How amazing would it be at the end of Halo 6 if Cortana seeing all the damage shes caused asks Chief why he is still trying to bring her back and he just removes the helmet and says "A friend once told me to never let you go" that in my mind would be the greatest thing they could do in Halo 6
In my opinion, this scene was infinitely more emotional than any Cortana related scene in Halo 4, or Halo 5. Just didn't work for me like it did here, but that's just my opinion.
Those who are complaining of Chief's journey to find Cortana in Halo 5 need to watch this video and remember what Sergeant Johnson said to the Chief... "Don't let her go, don't EVER let her go..."
That is the reason I would love it if they had an emotional scene between Chief and Cortana where Chief says an old friend told him to never let her go.
@@kosmicmarxman443 Also spartan armour heals the person inside the suit over time and it slows down ageing even more.If you watch the end of the halo reach credits you'll see linda in cryosleep, thats because she was shot in the back like 4 times and cheif put her in the cryo chamber so the suit could heal her.

It sucks that there really aren't any memorable or loveable human characters like Johnson or Miranda Keyes in the new Halo trilogy. Both of their death scenes will really sad.
I just realized, I bet the main reason master chief loved Cortana so much is that it's the last piece of memory of Johnson besides his last words. it's a pretty bad theory but it makes sense.
"Send me out with a bang." A perfect end to the most badass soldier that ever lived in video game history and his final words summed up the last great halo game in the series.
Completely agree with the first part but let’s be real, Reach was pretty incredible too. Johnson’s death here is legendary and while it suck’s to have him go it further propels halo 3s story to godlike status
He's most certainly a marine. He says he is on multiple occasions and when he gets his award in the beginning they say of the USMC and give him an award that is given to marines.
His death also shows you the friendship between Chief and Johnson, you could imagine how saddened Chief was after losing his friend who served with him since the beginning.
I mean, not really. They both fought in nearly all the same battles, so that's pretty incorrect, I'd also like to know where that Spartan 1 info came from.
I may or not be correct but The Spartan 1s came from the Orion project. The augmentations the candidates received gave them a side-effect called boren's syndrome. It's the reason why Sergeant Johnson is immune to the flood. Here's a link halo.wikia.com/wiki/ORION_Project.

This is the sadest death scene in halo but I wish in cortana's "death" scene I think didactic should have broken cheif's armour so you could see one of his eyes when they were fighting and then when cortana disappears you can hear Johnsons words echoing don't ever let her go and a single tear comes out of cheif eye that would be the most powerful scene ever
Even though hes wearing his power armor and you can't see his face...You can still tell Master Chief is sad/angry that he lost one of his few friends by his movements and silence.
These two have worked together for roughly 27 years. Johnson is partially the reason John becomes "Master Chief", it HURTS me after seeing their partnership start and end
