  • Despite the age, I've been using this camera for a while (even back when it first came out) and always find it to be a very reliable camera to use that is still more than capable to produce great results. Sure, this camera does have its limitations due to its age but if use properly, you can really come back with great results, so in this video I will be sharing with you my opinion on this camera in case some of you might be looking at this camera and/or already have this camera but still want another opinion anyway. :-) I hope you can gain something from this video! :-)

    I've had this camera since 2016 and to this day it's still one of my best cameras. I love the colors and results that it produces for me and for anyone looking for a great camera at a great price especially during this day and age of expensive cameras, I recommend the Canon EOS 60D camera.

    This was my first DSLR that I bought in 2013. I recently bought one at a great price and not only a wave of nostalgia hit me, but I forgot how much I loved the colors and the HD still holds up pretty well

    I love the ergonomics of this camera when it came out. In addition i enjoy the simplicity of it as new cameras have so many menu features that you feel like you dont know what settings to use. I have a 6D Mk II and i dont find it as fun to use.

    The 60d was my first camera I bought 3 years ago or so. I have done most of my work with it with prime lenses and has done me good! It’s starting To give me issues so it’s time to upgrade.

But everything related to photography and filmmaking is really expensive in Brazil... what camer do you believe could be a good improvement? Thanks man! God bless you!

    9:07 - *Sorry, this is wrong* . The electronic level is not only available on the back screen, but in OVF too - it just temporarily switches the exposure metering guide to leveling (unlike AF-points level in, say, 5DIII). Moreover - it is even doubled to the info screen on top of the camera's shoulder!

      @@DavidCuhls Oh, no, I actually watched your whole video and like it! =) Just fixed this one point. In my opinion, the best level implementation is in Intelligent Viewfinder II (6DII, 5DIV, 1DXII\III), where it has a separate smaller scale in the upper part of OVF, so it does not rid you of AF points during levelling (like 5DIII does) and does not stand in the way of composition, like in my EOS R these days, where the level is right in the centre of the EVF...

    I was about to buy it when it came out. But I had the 50D and the sensations in my hands didn't convince me, it was a step backwards and it didn't add anything new that I needed.

      Hi, thank you for the recommendation, really appreciated it. I am actually aware of that and I've set the button to image quality actually. But I still mean that I wish it could have done more, maybe not the 7D level considering the time period but even for the time that it was launched, the viewfinder was kind of behind on features for its class.... But that's just my opinion. Thank you very much again for your suggestion and also for watching. I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)

      I was using different lenses on the camera for the sample shots that was shown on in the video. I cannot remember exactly which image was shot with which but in general I was using the Canon ef-s 10-18mm STM, ef 16-35mm f/4.0 L IS, ef 35mm f/1.4, ef 50mm f/1.4 and the ef 70-200mm f/2.8 L. I hope this helps. I thank you very much for watching, I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting :-)

    I'm thinking about taking the Canon EOS 7D and 60D, which do you think is better? And since the 7D uses a Compact Flash Card, is it any better than an SD Card for professional use?

    • @boas9054
      @boas9054 Рік тому

      same scenario here

    • @juandapena1429
      @juandapena1429 Рік тому +3

      The 7D is clearly superior in many aspects: AF accuracy and speed, construction and materials, shooting speed, and most of all camera controls.
      The biggest advantage of the 60D is the existence of a tiltable screen which may come in handy at some point.
      Regarding the cards, there are good CF and good SD cards, I don't see that the decision is important in this regard.
      For amateur use, to start photography, etc. the 60D is a good camera, but the 7D is superior even though the image quality is very similar.

    • @boas9054
      @boas9054 Рік тому

      @@juandapena1429 what do you think about 70e?

    • @juandapena1429
      @juandapena1429 Рік тому

      @@boas9054 The 70D in terms of quality will be slightly higher but not decisive at all. Where it does make a difference is in the focus system, which is simplified from the 7D, better controls, better continuous shooting, and especially the dual pixel system.
      In short, almost identical in appearance, similar quality but greater AF capacity and continuous shooting with the advantage of dual pixel.
      Better screen, better viewfinder, touch screen, in short I think it's worth it compared to the 60D.
      If the price is similar (speaking second-hand, of course) to a 6D, then the change is huge. With the 6D you lose such "sporty" AF, you lose continuous shooting, it doesn't have dual-pixel, etc. but the photographic quality is much higher.
      Currently I use both the 7D and the 6D, but each one within its specialization.

    How high does the Iso go? I have a rebel t1i and it only goes to 3200 iso

    • @DavidCuhls
      @DavidCuhls  Рік тому

      The highest ISO value that the Canon 60d can go is 12,800 ISO. However, I would not recommend using it above 1,250 ISO because the images would be a little bit noisy at around that iso range. Hope that helps, thank you very much for watching, I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)

    The colors are nice, if you like brown.
    It`s like the 600D which i owned a few months, worst buy ever.
    Except if you like unnatural and brown colors, oh and the dynamic range is also very bad.

      @DavidCuhls  Місяць тому

      Thank you very much for watching as well as for sharing your experience. I am sorry to hear that you had a experience with the 600d. I personally love that camera because it still can deliver great quality images when you shoot in RAW. I love the skin tones, colour rendition and the ability to handle different high contrast situations. But I do also understand that it's not a camera for every body. I hope you find a good camera that you can enjoy and create your story the way to want and one that you can enjoy capturing the moments with.
