Thank you! Last week I changed all front arm bushings (I think about eight of them-every single one), also both front suspensions (sachs) with uper rubber strut mount with bearings, and still could hear knocking noise, when drive on bumps. Made me crasy! Everything was brand new, and still could hear noise! Just replaced this part (stabiliser) and now everything is perfect! One of rubber rings were loose (shrinked) and rotate inside the metal on old one and clunks! Thank you!!!
Thanks for posting. I’m tackling my 2012 A8L sway bar bushings and links this weekend. This was helpful. Good call out on the washing orientation at the end of the video.
Developed a knocking on the front drivers side, especially prevalent when turning. Thank you. You're probably going to save me a couple of hundred quid!
@@gokhaniltus6360 changed anti roll bar link and I still have the annoying knock. Even the garage couldn't locate the problem. So, 2 years on and it's still there.
Hey I see you understand very well in crackling sound of audi. Can you please help me? My repair guy couldnt find the problem, but it sounds like cracking noises on the rear wheels(not sure which one) when im accelerating, turning at low speed or going off the road speed limitators. Anything would be helpful, thank you. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Changed the rubbers on the sway bar and these pushing rods... still got a loud knock when turning. It's a nice video but you used normal tools? The rods need to be tightened at 40Nm +90°...
Yes you should torque them up as per spec, i didn't add the torque clip as I'd forgot take one. Sorry if that mislead you. Failed Sway bars wouldn't normally be identified as a knock when turning, so could look at your top mounts or CV joints. Not knowing your type of knock it could be a few things.
@@martymo9502 I changed the cardan, new rubbers on the torque bar, changed the lifters like in the video... and still a fucking knock! I have a A4 B8 2009 so it's the same system as a A5.
@@Snippiii because the Audi front suspension all hangs off bars there are a number of ball joints top and bottom which if worn will give you a knock, as well as the strut top mount itself which is prone to tear from rubber. Try all the joints with tyre levers for play and work strut arm without load to see if you can create the noise. Failing that try the brake pad retaining clips for tension as mis aligned pads will give a metal knock when braking and turning.

A hard knocking when driving over uneven Road surface, or significantly, those dopey speed ramps the council love to destroy roads with. It wasn't a metal to metal knock, just a repeated knock, knock, knock like hitting the chassis with a rubber mallet.
Would a 15 plate c7 A6 be the same as this car ? Also I was advised to change those banana shape arms too but would the drop links be the main culprit?

You used the same bolts or new ones? I thought they were one time use as they are stretch bolts.
For drop links it's a shear force, so It should be a tensile bolt, not a comoression stretch bolt. So existing bolts should be good to go again.
Audi manual says bolt torque is 40Nm plus 90 degrees.
