Quick Correction:
For the Dragon Build its supposed to have Rathian Vambraces to give you Burst 2 and Lock On 1 sorry about that!
Also Long ammo doenst really need lock-on since your poking the dang thing to death with Wyrmstake, but Lock-On is never a bad idea.
Also DONT OVER GRADE THE BONE GUNLANCE TO 8.1.
The best Gunlance is the Pink Rathian Gunlance due to the high raw and poison build up. It carries the same argument as to the Pink Rathian Long Sword being the best, BUT EVEN BETTER because of Wyrmstake shot.
I'd be mad as hell as a beginner if i was putting 40 WGS into something that was recommended just because it was the fastest way to G10. I keep seeing these arguments about using a Charged Shot style and its really not worth it. Charged Shots DO NOT CRIT OR APPLY ELEMENTAL DAMAGE. One poison proc will even completely overtake any charged shell style especially against anything weak to poison.
LAZY WORK AND LAZY EFFORT SHOULD NEVER BE ENCOURAGED.
Can you compare it to other weapons in terms of DPS and can you compare the best and worse GL weapons?
Hi King, i totally get your point but could the argument for 9.1 or 10.1 bone still have some merit? As a way to farm more esaly 9 stars monsters and then work to a better weapon? 40 wgs are sure a steep investmet but i can see the merit on not having to rely on any monster specific part for your "placeholder" weapon while slolwly building a better monster specific one that would then go up to 10.5. I am thinking of switching from elemental SNS to RAW (bone) gunlance because farming all the t2 materials has become a real pain. It for sure mean thowing away some weapon refinment parts and zenny but it could allow me to advance faster from 7/8 stars (i currently manage to do all 7* and only the "easy" 8* monsters) to doing probably all 8 stars and some 9 stars and getting to a 9.1 bone lance could be more easy, and would require mostly just the basarios farm for the artillery. I am planning on switching later to insect glaive if it will release as fun as it was in world, so would prefer to save specific monster parts for that.
It has zero merit at G7.5 yeah keep it and use it.
But anything past that NOOO. To put it in perspective to even get 40 WGS is a huge block unless your REALLY lucky and your not doubling them. By the time you get 40 WGS you'll likely have enough monster parts from the specific monster you need.
and its not as cheap as you think. A 10.1 bone gunlance STILL REQUIRES Rarity 3 Bone+ and 245,000 ZENNY TOTAL. Yeah you don't have to go after monster parts. But the Materials aren't as much of a walk in the park as it says it is.
As someone that spent 4 months purposely blocking themselves at 8 stars to experience the hell it takes from Grade 8 to Grade 10.5 do you really want to spend weeks of effort for something thats going to fall off hard later on? NOPE.

You are comparing Bone GL, a Long type GL, with Pink Rathian GL, a Normal type GL, and i cant agree with it. The playstyle of 2 type is kind of difference. Imo, if in Long type catalogue, Azure Rathalos is the best in Raw dmg, also have abit elemental dmg for wyrmstake shot, even though play Long type barely use. Or rather play 4Artillery with Long type still better than. Pink Rathian is good, but not best of Normal type imo.
Guard + flick up + flick up + tap + flick up + tap + guard + full reload + REPEAT 😄😄

Daora GL is solid if you really want to invest into it!
I suggest to pay attention to GL's shelling types before making loadout. Maxing out elemental is not always ideal within certain playstyle. The loadout mentioned is ideal for normal shelling and wyvern stake playstyle.
Jho's long shelling + art 1 is probably the best GL in the game right now. Evade extender is also your bestfriend when using GL.
Jho's isn't the best actually. Pink Rathian is. It has same argument for the Pink Rathian LS, but its even better because of the way Wyrmstake shot works.
Shot type doesnt beat out poison proc damage.

My playstyle is only shelling, jho's long type GL with art 1 is ideal for that. That's why I said it. lol.
with G8 jho, + sneak atk 1 and art 4, I can deal almost 2100 dmg from the sides with one charged shell. it's pretty powerful, ngl.
I have been liking Girros for paralysis buildup to force openings for several stakes/bursts, but I am also not that far along in terms of gear progression. My best weapon is a G7-2 Pukei bow, and I only have a handful of armor past G6.
Does Focus work for gunlance? The charge feels the same at every level, unless the difference is too small to notice.
Very informative! It’s nice that the sets mostly revolve around the same “Basarios chest/legs, rathian gloves” core, so we don’t have to start *completely* from scratch!😅
(Also, come on *ANOTHER* pink rathian weapon being the best?! Man, it was already a pain to grind for the bow, I don’t know if I have it in me to do that again!😭😅)

New to GL. Why burst? Is it just for swinging? I've noticed there's no difference with or without it on WSS.

What about crit does that help when using a gunlance
Now all we need is more load out slots I already have 6 for my primary weapon, a default for doing what ever the daily weapon challenge is and now need a set for gl load outs. And I still want some for practicing other weapons
I think it’ll increase in the next update. The thing is more loadout means more stress on the servers because loading more load outs isn’t as simple as we think.

Oh sorry about that the graphic is wrong lol. The basarios mail at Grade 6 will give you the 3rd point of artillery.

Thats a good question! having tested with others that doesn't seem to be the case..that would be pretty cool but OP too (two elements in one GL if it was)
quick question, for long GL is it better to play charged shot style with focus or dragon wyrmstake (im building deviljho GL)
Dragon Wyrmstake for sure. One Wyrmstake will do way more damage overall than multiple charged shots. Especially since Charged shots don't apply Elemental Damage.
Anybody using the bone gunlance will lag behind anyone using Charged shot. Niantic never intended for that mechanic to ever be op so I feel sorry for all the misled souls dumping their resources into it lol.

My pleasure. Don’t get me wrong if really was that good I’d be saying something about it. But even the Niantic devs said Wyrmstake shot and Burstfire were the intended play style for maximum damage.
Hey man just a qiestion, whats your opinion around this so called "META" circling around 8 🌟 kushala raids? Apparently some people are encouraging players to quit the fight if someone poisons kushala in order to kill it faster (bcs they need to min/max the drops from partbreaks apparently

In a nutshell yes. SSA is the new meta. But because the Wyvemstake Shot does so many proc hits you can still do well without SSA.

That’s a good question. For burstfire Wyrmstake shot styles Anjanath might actually better because of the normal ammo.

The Dragon Attack Build doesnt have Burst or Lock-on skills?
You can switch out for it if you want using the Rathian Vambraces.
I forgot to put the 2nd build on there lol. Thats the one if you don't need Lock-On because of the Long ammo type.

How good is Artillery on the CB?
Not great sadly. If it was all hits yeah it’s good. But it’s only for phial damage.
@@KINGOFCHARMANDERS but I am thinking about it, the AED is very slow so you don't do a lot in 75 second for the big Crit DMG chances (the average is for every 1 of affinity is 0.25 DMG for all the fight) and with Artillery is 30% DMG guaranteed for the 3 hit after the AED (and I don't even talk about SAED). I would love if you can trie to compere 🙏🏽

Honestly, if your good at LS you should craft PR LS. Gunlance is good if you can get good at Wyrmstake combos in combination with everything else it has to offer.
Is focus a good skill for GL?
It can be! If you like the faster charging and dont want to wait for perfect dodging etc. Focus GS is a common builld.

@@KINGOFCHARMANDERS yeah my set up is Zinogre Gunlance with zinogre helm for burst Basarios chest for artillery lvl 2 Rathian arm for burst lvl 2 rathian waist for burst lvl 1 and zinogre leg piece for burst lvl 1
What about attack boost on Gunlance?
If your low level it can help (Rathalos Helm) but Burst and artillery are much better!

Most of your damage is going to come from BurstFire and Wyrmstake Shot spam. There's no universe where focus is a good skill over Artillery.

Rathian or pink rathian is better?
Pink Rathian is better because of the higher raw damage. The low poison build up factor doesn’t matter much at all because of how many ticks you can get with Wyrmstake shot.

No water build?
Water build follows burst. There's just no good water support right now for the slots that dont have artillery sadly.
Tbh your part about the gunlance dmg doesn't make any sense to me... can you try layman terms?? 😂😂

Wyrmstake Shot = Crit and Elemental Dmg
Upgrading = more damage and EVERYTHING in-between 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5
Shelling = no crit or elemental dmg
Overgrading = more damage and nothing in-between
5.1, 6.1, 7.1, 8.1, 9.1 , 10.1
@KINGOFCHARMANDERS so the only time the shelling dmg goes up is when overgrading? I also use your focus 5 burst 3 bow armor set for this, can easily beat most 8 stars with a grade 6, using only charge shots and specials
Correct! So shelling and BurstFire dont gain daamge unless you overgrade. Everything else does.
