Now that I finally got my black diablo bow up to max as of April 20th, I’ve stopped doubling my wgs. I’m so glad to have my bow maxed finally. Been playing since November and I went HARD. I can’t wait for what comes next. Thank you KoC for sharing your story. Idk how helpful this is to others, but to me, if I was starting fresh again, it would be nice to know how hard the solo grind can be.
Yoooo congrats!! I still do it because if palico weapons come out it’s likely we’re gonna need WGS for them. So I’m hoarding as much as I can right now 😂 I’m glad I recorded all of it. Hopefully, it gives an insight of just how hard an AR game is versus being able to just sit at home and grind main series all day.

My goal has been making Grade 7 SnS Builds for the main 4 elements before learning and grinding for an end game Bow Build for universal monster coverage. Enjoying the grind and learning optimal place to grind in my area. Cheers!
Honestly, MHN is a game that I don't mind spending some money on once in a while (like the monthly Prime Hunter's Pass). It doesn't feel like a pay to win game, but more like a pay to have fun game. That boost of serotonin I get when I see a WGS drop is worth every penny, lol. As well, I don't mind supporting the developers of the game -- they have done a remarkable job with the regular updates since launch, IMO.
It’ll be worth it! I enjoyed the journey. But I’m glad I did because now that I’m at where I’m at. I wish I had more to do lol. Still enjoy the grind and practicing new weapons!
Well done. Having completed the journey also It's safe to say the bow is well worth the grind. I also stopped doubling WGS drops and can farm 8 and most 9 pretty comfy. To any new players the task may seem monumental but with Bblos being in multiple HATs now you could do 5 a day along with the story ones and any wild ones you come across and just grind it out slowly. If decos and armor slots become real then it will only get better at it's job. Go for it and good luck!

Thank you for sharing your story to upgrade one weapon until Max Level, I'm also capping the world level at grade 8 monster. It is enjoyable since grinding for the zenny is much easier nowadays where broken part rewards can directly be converted into zennies. Currently i only have one weapon grade 10-2 (Ice) since starting the game, the other is grade 8 or 9. Looks like it will be harder grind WGS since i aim for elemental weapons (Minimum of 4 types with no double knife). Good job KoC !
Welcome to the max DB bow club. Lol. I recently started over with what I have learn with my mhn journey. Definitely instead of upgrading everything and grinding for zennies, I'm just gonna stick on one weapon and armor. Playing more effectively

Just got my kulu blades to grade 10 today after playing since the release of the game and following your videos! Also, from my experience you have to "perfect the 8 star monster" meaning you can't take any damage at all during the fight and you will get a wyvern gem. You also have to break that part of the monster that gives the chances on the roll as well.
When I first discovered your channel, you said to focus on poison or paralyze at the very start (greatly appreciate you reading and replying), which I focused on poison for the DPS. SnS poison has seen me through to 7 stars and now it's getting hard. That 75 seconds is the real boss. Thanks to the events I have 7 WGS so I can do one weapon to grade 8. I've branched out to Thunder Element 7.5 DB and a legiana bow is 7.2 for me because black diablos sucks fighting without ranged. I'm keeping grades down to 7 stars till I'm sure I can clear all 7 stars comfortably. I shouldn't have WGS either but those events are giving me an advantage if played right. So honest opinion invest in poison all the way for grade 8 is my take away here but in the Rathian bow not pukei.

They desperately need to buff the SnS..most people think I’m just an SnS hater. NO IT REALLY IS THAT UNDERPOWERED RIGHT NOW. Hopefully one they do buff it. It’ll be much better. Also can you ask them to add color customization to weapons and some sort of glow effect or something for grade 10 weapons just so you feel more Incline to get them or get more of them!
Thats never been a thing in the main series. In addition, if you add any visual like that or something it can break the game. The motivation to get to Grade 10 is how powerful weapons become at that stage. You shouldn't just rapidly start firing off your resources to get multiple Grade 10 gear or you'll get hard stuck when something better comes.
I’m so pissed, I have enough coral pukei mats to take them to grade 7 if not 8 Except not one single primeshell (6* item) dropped. Not a one. Not from 6*, not from 7*. And I needed the coil and hat to hit grade 6
I started about two months ago, and I have the Tobi and Anjanath 7.5 arc. My arc legiana and jyuratodus only 7.2. but I'm starting to farm the 8s and earn my first wgs! But the maxed black diablos bow seems so far away... It's a rare monster
Its indeed a rare monster, as a newer player myself i recommend always doing the 6 star black diablo HaTs and grind the 7 star story and 2x the fight on black diablos for awhile until you have a lot of 1-5 db mats then go to 8 stars
Unlocked 8* just a couple days back, kinda out of my depth sadly i can get about 1/2 of them down just barely. Probably shouldve chilled at 7* a bit longer to build up my armor some more tbh. Keep getting yeeted from 100 to 3 hp on one bad dodge (lbg main currently, previous ls main). Not sure this is where to put it but has anyone noticed that sometimes the game forgets you were using your special skill? Just had a radobaan roll me to death when i clicked the skill and it started playing the animation so i focused on aiming not dodging then it treated it as a plain reload instead of proccing the skills invuln phase
I definitely have that problem sometimes. I find that if it’s too close to when the hit window is then the attack registers first before the special skill (at least that just my experience) But it’s totally worth it. I could only take out the first half of 8 stars even with Blos bow at 8.1 once it slowly got stronger I was able to take out the rest of the roster and subspecies.

Hey KingofCharmanders, i have my BD bow at G8 2/5, just unlocked 8☆ monsters, i can hunt great jagras, pukei and kulu comfortably with it, should i invest in either a pukei or rathian bow still?
So i am at 8 stars and am struggling with most. I have the basic elemental weapons alll at 7.3 to 8.2 with the respective element at 5. I want to be prepared for end game and not waste resources. Any tips fro. Here on out? Minus u locking 9 stars when i can to get more 8s spawning lol
I would say take advantage of events where spawns are boosted like the Deviljho Event. You won't get as many 8 stars at 9 stars, but its a good amount for you to get a consistent grind in. Focus on your Poison weapon versus anything else. A good poison weapon at max allows you to take out a lot of 8-9 stars. After that you can branch out. However, keep in mind the next major update and beyond will have good things you might want to save resources for.
What do you do to be able to whale without being too invasive id love to drop a ton on gems to double materials without having to worry how many more months it'll take to get Ann additional WGS for example 😂
If they had item that let you have increased drop odds for 30 minutes for sure I'd be whaling on that or if the elder dragon mechanic makes you use passes. Then I'm splurging on those passes lol
Congratulations on maxing out the best weapon in the game (at least at the point in time this comment is posted), especially challenging yourself like this. Unfortunately for me, I'm not a huge fan of Bow or using gyro, and I hate fighting Black Diablos, so I'll never get to fully enjoy the Cera Coilbender's ludicrous power and how it almost trivializes the game.
Appreciate it! As powerful as it is, it's still really difficult to handle pierce if you aren't skillful with it. The Bow nerf really hit it hard. But I like how its made me a better player.
Every day just try to beat *8 pukei for wgs. N my BD bow still too far to max... Haha.... But still enjoy the game coz my ele weapon can fight *8 monster...
Sometimes its good to keep quiet on a specific weapon especially if its meta. We all know bdiablos bow is long overdue for a nerf, its been meta for so long an being your a giod youtuber shining more light on this bow an elder dragon coming its only suitable to nerf the weapon an crown a new meta king kushala, then all hard work gone :(
Its not long overdue for a nerf at all. If they were gonna nerf it they would have done it by now and IF THEY DO the uproar it would cause isn't worth it. In world, Wyvern Ignition "Impact" was the best thing in world till the Iceborne DLC. They never nerfed it. There will always be a super weapon in the main series. In MH1 it was the dual blades final type when it released. Elder dragon weapons SHOULD BE META. They will be the hardest monsters in the game and their weapons should be the best. Its like legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

I really liked the intro on how you got to 8*, really helpful for newbies. Poison weapons, especially Pukei bow can carry you to 8* alone.
I think a dedicated 'new player to 8* unlock' video that highlights the focus 5 Pukei bow build would be really helpful

That's awesome! I would stay at Blos bow if you can keep going with it. Its always worth getting Blos to 10.5 if you can before anything else.

Same spot here. I love charge blades and slowly pushing each elemental weapon to 7.5 to get them to farm 8*s. Those WGS are hard to come by
