IMPORTANT NOTE: if you want to do 8 Star Dimensional Link hunts you MUST FINISH THE SEASONAL STORY AT LEAST ONCE! That makes sense why im at 8 star DL's because I've completed the Seasonal Story once this season. Per all the info I've researched, your difficulty level for DL's is tied to where you are at in the Season story and how many times you've cleared it.
I love that you can enjoy some hunts slightly further away, group rewards (cause got noone to play with) and I think this is better for some newer players who got problems to defeat them by themself
My first, the very first Dimensional Link hunt that I did with a group bagged me a Wyvern Gem Shard to double up. Already enjoying this new feature so much 😊
@@robinnautica9773 I don't think the drop rate was changed but all the rifts that Ive gotten are 8 stars. With group hunts being swift in a full party, it could make farming those shards a lot easier
How do you guys get 8 star dimensional link hunts? I only get 6 star monsters only. Do you need to be on 10 star main quest or we are just missing something? BTW my field is 9 stars RN.
So glad to see more and more multi-player coming to the game. Sadly though. More and more group hunts have been filled with people using a crap gunlance hoping for a carry to complete their Gunlance quests. An occasional carry isn't so bad at all... 3 other people in your lobby using an off element gunlance... that's a problem. Hopefully Niantic Capcom considers this when develping quests in the future.

New player here and I am confused about this whole thing. I am able to hunt monsters in range and people always join, but the people joining are from all over the world, correct? I live in a rural area so there can't be that many players here. If the people joining me aren't local, that means I should be able to join other players' hunts around the world right? Don't see how to do that though. Must be getting something wrong here.
This was basically a feature that let you join global hunts while being away from the circle. It got nerfed to where the DL Monsters have to be in the circle.
It’s long been known that WGS drop isn’t random. It’s extremely low at about 2-4% per data gathered. Part break drops also have a ridiculously low chance. Doesn’t matter if you break it or not you’re rolling against terrible odds lol. It’s even worse if it’s a final boss field monster like Zinogre or Mizutsune.

if you are close enough you will see the orange join button on the screen and you click it you will see the dimensional link monster. having said that if you are out with someone else and hit the button you most likely will not get in the same lobby as the other person. did around 20 with a friend and we only got in the same lobby one time.

I think there is no increase in drop rates. It is still random but the increased chance of 8 stars encounters coupled with increased material drops from group rewards gave us more chances of getting a WS😊😊😊
Not sure there is an extra drop rate on the Wyvern gems between me and my friend we have done 50+ so far and gotten zero ☹. i still love the feature though.
DL is fantastic, so many more 8*'s to fight. Only downside is using way more potions than usual. Did 6 on way to work, about 11 on way home, lots of r5 but no r6 drops, grrr.
I got lucky with a gem shard 3 times in a row but after that I barely got my 4th one from the rift after 30 hunts or so. It does seem a bit higher but it’s still the first day so it’s hard to say how good the drop rates are

On a different note, could someone explain how Weakness Exploit works in Now? My current understanding is that its activated after you break a monsters part. Tyvm
Weakness Exploit triggers on attacks that show non-gray damage numbers, on Basarios for example the stomach becomes a weak spot once broken/heated, another example is Banbaro's legs, once broken they become weak spots

You're not going to see any 8* if you haven't unlocked them from beating 8* story. People are saying you need to clear the current season story multiple times to upgrade the DL on your map.
this update is getting on my nerves. dozens of players who are not up to it, lie there with no interest in getting up and wait for someone to kill them for them. isn't there some mechanism that would prevent them from going to an 8* monster if they don't have it? it's worse than with edi.. 😞
That’s a good point. I don’t know the lvl 50 cap was implemented. But even then 8 star with the HP increase is rough if you don’t have someone super OP that can carry.
i would say this makes the game too easy...but then again i also used up 8 pots before 9am today :( ive done maybe 30 Dhunts and only got 1 wgs (broken part)
This is literally the way the game has been for high player communities in Asia lol. Also if you used 8 pots then that means you aren't at full driftsmelt G10.5 level to really say the game is easy for you as a solo player haha.

I wish they add event monsters on dimensional links
You can though. Zinogre has been seen in DL’s it has to be an event monster defeated in story that will appear on the field.

I had two WGS two days back now I have ten
I did about 50 dimensional hunts yesterday and got 3 wyvern gem shards, don't know if that's a higher rate than normal but hope the info helps

Not entirely sure. I got 8 off the bat. If you are at 10 theoretically you should see 8s. But not sure what the criterion is.
Os it just random monsters or specific ones

It’s higher based off research and reports. The percentage is still low, but the frequency is higher than that of a normal monster on the field.
