@@tabletopskirmishgames Lee your videos are awesome! I like that you set an example as an influencer in the community by being friendly, teaching effectively and just being passionate about the hobby! The intro is a trade mark at this point haha
Watching this, I thought about a house rule I think we’ll try. “Hold the Door” If a friendly operative is within black of a closed doorway, it can attempt to prevent an enemy operative from operating the doorway, if it’s APL equals or exceeds the APL of the enemy operative. (Maybe a roll-off to succeed? We’ll have to experiment. )
Nice! One minor thing though: If you’d have placed the terrain on the grid properly, you wouldn’t even need the laser, as you could just check if you stepped over the corresponding line or not. :)
I am a little confused, so do the splash torrent and blast weapons get the lethal rule, but don't have any draw backs? If so, that's quite weird when people will probably group up a lot in these missions because of the terrain. Also, if I have an ability that let's me do a free fight action, can I use Hatchway fight as that free fight action?
@@AMillar1 I went looking an he gets asked this in the individual gallowdark rules videos, he probably just forgot. Its the "Army Painter - Targetlock Laser Line"
For the guard on interrupt, does the action at the end of an activation trigger the overwatch? I played a couple of games and we decided it didn't, but we weren't sure. It specifically says after an action, you may interrupt their activation for the overwatch, but if its your final move doesn't the activation end then, before they can fire? They really need to do an errata and faq for this section. For Shadowvault they don't even tell you how much the breaching and hauler robot can move, nor do they technically have a rule to use them after the first turn since it is a terrain feature and not an operative even if you take it as equipment (like in the 2.2 Vault mission in Shadowvault book)
I'm a little confused here. So once I'm "On Guard" I'll be able to perform overwatch ONLY after an enemy ops perform an action but does it have to be until all friendly ops are activated or what?
This is a little different to normal overwatch when you have to wait until all your operatives have activated. Think of it as an interruption rather than overwatch. You can carry it out at any time as long as you meet the requirements of the guard rule.
As the terrain is mostly Heavy and Walls I found it makes it easier to get playing than Octarius. For lots of the first games I left out the Close Quarter rules, then gradually added them in.
Whenever, I here Lee introduce himself, it really perks my day up. Sounds like the really cool guy at the hobby shop that wont judge you at all
I thought about changing the intro a while back but it's kind of a meme now, I have to keep using it 🤣

The flying Imperial Fist was a magical Disney moment. Really fun touch.
Super informative and helps make sense of the rules. Thanks for a great video.

What’s the laser you use to display line of sight? I’m looking for something like that for my games.
Asks question, creator sees said question and gives it a like… no answer to the question they were asked, just a thumbs up. Fucking thanks, I guess. 🤷

So if I’m on guard and I’m charged I can point blank over watch after they move/charge but before he starts attack ?
Does breacha boy get a nerf, or does he blast thru walls still?
The consensus is that Breacha Boy can't blast through the walls here because the way the rule is worded ☹️
@@tabletopskirmishgames Thats what I was thinking :(

@@tabletopskirmishgames Ahh. I understand now. Thank you!
Awesome!
Thanks, BB!
All these rules makes me think this would work better as a grid based game
Yeah that would have made things a lot easier
Look at all those books ☠️
It’s a lot but you don’t need them all.
Yet more more layers of stupid rules that take away the fun of play
I dont know this has kinda turned me off from trying the game now, seems really too nitty gritty
