Just found you guys a couple days ago, you make by far the best BatRep content I've seen, period. Doesn't matter what game, your production value and commentary are incredible. Keep up the great work! :)
@@MountainsideTabletop How come I never see you measuring anything? I don't play KT, so maybe all speeds and ranges in the game are so big that you don't need to measure most of the time as everything never uses the full allowance anyway? If so, it feels like too loose design-wise to have ranges that don't matter.
100/10 would recommend y’all’s Kill Team batreps to anyone into or interested in the game. Loved all the content so far and genuinely look forward to the next video.
Hey I haven't even watched the video yet, but I wanted to comment on how excited I am for this. I very quickly ran through the backlog of videos and can't wait for more high-quality battle reports; keep it up!
I haven't played this versión of KT and had only two games of the previous version, so when I watch a Battle report I get really lost. For the first time I understood what was happening and how enjoyful a game can be. I hope you keep this format, you guys are doing an amazing job!
Not only are these top tier batreps, the quality to which these models are painted really add to the flavour, as well as the camera shots. I will never not watch what you do. Peace y'all!
My buddies and I haven't started playing ItD yet, and my brief readthrough of the Gellerpox rules seemed rather unimpressive. After watching that game... wow. So many models to choke up the board, strong, survivable, everything. But either way, I'm happy for a Necrons-4-Life friend who finally has a good KT, and this was a great battle report! Keep it up!
Great content, as always! Quick tip: On Gallowdark missions the immortals are always stronger with tesla weapons from a math perspective, even against single targets. Only take Gauss on open fields
Even if the math didn't work that way, the ability to spread couple of MWs across glitchlings and bugs is super helpful. If it saves you even one activation shooting a model, it's worth it.
Great battle report as always! My fave on youtube! I love necrons, and the circle is a fun team, but they definitely feel like they need a buff; reanimation is more limited (although now more numerous in a turn), the Denmark Is not good compared to other snipers, and now living metal is BEFORE reanimation- there are a lot of little things where it feels like they get the short end of the deal
Just found this channel, never played a game of Kill Team or any other wargame tabletop, but I'm about to, and the production quality you guys have makes newbies like me feel much more excited about learning and delving into the hobby. GJ!
Great batrep! I loved this one. I think one seldom used SLIGHT counter to Gellerpox is guarding at a closed hatchway to hatchfight a gribbly coming in to open the door, since 3 of the 4 big bois can't open doors properly. This battle really felt like it came down to counterplay on both your parts though, which was really fun to see.
Another great time, thanks gang! If you guys ever brought this energy to Warhammer Underworlds I wouldn't be offended at all. 🔥There's a drought of fun and information amongst the card-nerd-o-sphere now that Gnarlwhood has come out and Underworlds is getting its legs back. Thanks again for all you do. I look forward to the podcast! (insta-5-stared 🤜🤛 )
Great batrep. There was a play for the necrons to make somewhere but it all fell apart when the curse mite killed the Apprentek. But the key move was probably opening the door on the left and trying to kill the hulk there. That put the Apprentek and chronomancer out of position in return for eventually killing the flesh screamer who was never going to be in position to impact the game. Best case for him was kill the death mark TP 2. Move to the door TP 3 and open the door TP 4. But even if everything else had been the same, the Apprentek having the extra wounds from not fighting the flesh screamer would have left him in position to block the hatchway and lay down the slow field to keep vulgrar and the others bottled up.
love the videos guys! Just a rule thing - when the Necron leader made the blast attack, the glitchling wouldn't have been a valid target as it was engaged with another operative, I dont really think this impacted the game at all though! would love to see you use the new Necrons again they look really cool
I have had about 8 games with the Gellerpox and a few things I would recommend, don't sacrifice glitchlings. They should be the ones doing mission objectives since they have no penalty to do so. Use the hulks to run interference and agro If you want support in melee for the hulks, use the bugs. Mutants can fill in as support for either the hulks or the glitchlings.
I've not played Kill Team yet. I have the Geller Pox lads, mostly because they are cool. This was a really great bat rep you guys. Well presented and entertaining. I'll be watching for more. 👍
You're 100% right about the gellerpox in ITD especially. I've only won one ITD game against them out of 4 or 5 played, while in 'normal' mode I've yet to lose against them
Im not sure that Putrescent Demise would count into Rampant Nightmare, as that model was incapacitated and not in the killzone when dealing those mortal wounds.
The trick to beating Gellerpox (I think maybe) is to take out the little guys that can do mission actions for 1AP. If you take out most/all of the glitchlings and mutants by the end of turning point two the rest of the team is left ambling around after Vulgrar begging him to open doors or do mission actions for them. Maybe the Psychomancer (regarded as the worst of the three) might have been huge in this game with blast splash on all those little guys all clustered together and the ability to gimp the mutants down to 2" moves. A tesla carbine or two might have been your friend here too.
Love this battle report! Also it would be a good idea to talk strategy after the match while editing the video so as to not tell your opponent what your moves are.
Really cool battle report, thank you! Very insightful! Two questions, if I may: 1) when Chronomancer and Aprentek got charged, was Aprentek further? If memory serves, if an operative performs a charge and enters engagement range of not-engaged enemy operative, it stops. So if Aprentek was 'shielded' by Chronomancer, was that multi-charge possible? 2) reanimation of necrons says that they reanimate outside Engagement Range, isn't it?
Always great, and a tough matchup for sure. Hierotek are such a cool team, but it's going to be tough now that forward deploys are out. Rules lawyer-ing bit: While you can move through the hatchway walls, you still can't move through models when going through an open hatchway. So you can't position a glitchling in the middle of the doorway and still have enough room to move past them.
These are for sure the best Kill Team batreps on youtube. Truly amazing work! I notice that you don't really measure the movement, is this something from the new rules or was just small enough distances that you knew they could make it?
For normal game types that aren't into the dark like me and my friends play death match on open terrain ish. My question is do you always use equipment? I thought it was only one for the mission ones
Cool, thanks for the fast reply! Just got my KT starter set and can't wait to put the Boyz and Vets on the killing ground! Thanks for the awesome batreps and the inspiration Mountainside Tabletop, I'm looking forward to a new video 👽🤖👹
Ack....I know Gellerpox are supposed to be good on ItD, but Necrons are so disappointing. Why are their stats so meh even though theyre basically an elite team? The Apprentek and Cryptek hit on 4s and no one has melee. The team makes 0 sense.
hierotek could have saved that charge at 29:40, using the ability of the chronomancer to make the enemy move one white(or circle or two inches depending on what you use) slower, that could have been used instead of extra movement and approaching the door(i know you wanted to have your forces together, but you needed to impair his overall movement) or having the apprenket use that cryptek action, and not suicide it lmao. you literally lost there... hierotek are hard to use, two bad actions in a row means an almost lost game
Noob question (still learning) - at the end there, should that Gellerpox have been able to charge through 2 enemies not already engaged in order to reach another enemy? Also when the leader reanimated at the end, shouldn't it still have been within engagement range of the Gellerpox and therefore required a fallback to get out of that? Or have I misunderstood everything :D
Typically both of those points are correct, but reanimating specifies you can’t be placed back in engagement, and the Gellers have a tactical ploy “Barge” that allows for this sort of Charge/Move.
@@MountainsideTabletop Thanks for the reply! I've yet to play a game of Kill Team sadly, but I've been reading up on the rules and thought I must have misunderstood some things. Glad to see they were due to team rules, phew!
Maybe a controversial opinion, but Gellerpox might be my favorite GW models ever! Also, have you guys ever looked into Grimdark Future: Firefight by Onepagerules? Would love to see a battle rep on that.
Best kill Team Bat reps out there, looking forward to this while I paint up my orks
Name a better duo than GamesWorkshop and changing the rules after everyone made a battle report. I’ll wait
Games Workshop and High prices. There sort of all in a love triangle.
Incroyable.

I knew itd an old video but please if hou could tell me what blue you used on the necrons
Love the paint job on the Necrons. What did you use on them?
Maybe a really silly question, but how do you know how many inches you move while not counting them? Or is the counting cut in the editting?
Not a silly question at all, we measure both before and after moving to make sure we’ve got it right but cut that footage out in the edit!

Holy guacamole those gellerpox are scary… so freaking strong… I definitely do not want to face them😢
pretty sure the apprentek should've had two hits against lumberghast (hitting on 3+ plus combat support)?
Question - do Mutoid Vermin have Revoltingly Resilient?

What is the FAQ that makes the forward deploy illegal?
Why is Dimensional Translocation illegal now?

I feel Teslas are overall better against Gellerpox, especially in ITD - 2 crits instakill any Vermin within 2" (or 3" with equipment)

I really like how the terrain is painted, may I ask how you achieved the weathered white of the walls?
