New onset Eczema at 65! At first I thought it was due to a new medication but when I figured out the timeline it was not the medication. None on my extremities, only the trunk, head, face, neck and behind my ears. I ended up cutting off my long hair :( Unfortunately here we are almost four months later and it's still not resolved, I have seen Dermatology and have another appointment lined up. It's very frustrating, especially the visible spots on my face and neck. I am also suddenly allergic to mosquito bites. And you are correct-retirement sucks!

I have moderate to extreme eczema. and it all very slowly started in my early 50ies. I'm now 56 and in the past year its exploded. Atm I'm on Dupixant and have had 4 injections so far and a bit before that I had a major flare up all over my body. Scalp, torso, arms, hands, legs and feet so I was also put on cortisone pills for a month but now that I've been off the pills for 2 weeks, my eczema is coming back with a vengeance and the Dupixant hasn't showed visible results yet although I think I've started to itch a bit less over most of my body but my scalp is itchy as hell. When it gets too bad I use a cortisone based oily liquid which helps for several days.
Now the insides of my hands and the soles of my feet react very differently to eczema compared to the rest of my body. The skin become dark red, then it dries up and begins to get thicker where it then cracks and then peels off...rinse and repeat the cycle over the last year many times. Its very painful to walk or manipulate things. They become so sensitive. On the rest of my body Eczema develops as scabs of various sizes and shapes.

Thank you for acknowledging that adults get eczema! I have eczema and asthma and when I google information about the 2 issues, most of the articles are only about kids.
