Okay, this is more of a cello-specific question. I just bought a Cecilio CC 100, and it doesn't reverberate when I play with the bow. The sound pin is up, and when I pluck it sounds great, but when I bow it just doesn't produce any good sound. Do you know what could be going on?
Wow, an awful lot to include in one lesson for just learning first position. If someone already plays a fretted instrument I suppose they could absorb this. Something you might add is how to check the fourth finger intonation of C, G and D by playing the open string below.

Maybe you need more rosin?
Without a piano, I will be using my Korg tuner to verify the notes.
